ALL STAR SALEAUCTIONEER’S CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. The stock will be exposed according to the lots and numbers in the following catalogue and the highest offer on each lot will be preferred to the purchaser.

2. The pedigree and description of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty and therefore shall be taken with all the faults and errors of description.

3. All animals are at the risk of the vendor before sale and at the risk of the purchaser after the sale.

4. The service dates, while believed to be correct, cannot however, be guaranteed.

5. The auctioneers reserves the right to accept bids from a vender and they reserve on behalf of themselves and of the vendor the following rights:

a) To bid on behalf of a vendor

c) To rearrange, consolidate or withdraw any lots or vary the order of sale and

d) Without giving any reason therefore, to refuse to accept the bids of any person.

6. All sheep will be sold in euro gns (€)

7. The person making the highest accepted bid shall be the purchaser

8. No bid shall be retracted

9. If a dispute arises as to any bidding, then at the discretion of the Auctioneer, either:

a) The lot to which the disputed bid relates shall immediately be put up again,

or

b) The auctioneer shall determine the dispute, and their decision shall be final and binding on all parties.

The purchaser shall, if and when required, give his name and address to the Auctioneers, and shall if required, pay to the Auctioneers the purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, or so soon thereafter as the Auctioneer may require.

10. Purchasers paying by cheque must be prepared, if required, to produce a bankers reference.

11. No lots shall be removed from the sale premises until a written delivery order has been given by or on behalf of the Auctioneers.

12. Each lot shall, at the purchaser’s expense, be removed from the sale premises within a reasonable time after the close of sale.

13. All statements in the catalogue or made by the auctioneer at the time of sale relating to any animal are believed to be correct. No sale shall be invalidated by reason of any defect or faults in any of the animals by reason of any of the animals being incorrectly described in the catalogue, or by the Auctioneer in the ring, and no compensation whatever shall be paid in respect of any faults or errors of description.

14. All shearlings and ewes are sold as having being scanned in lamb unless otherwise stated.

15. All animals are sold as they stand, the Purchaser is deemed to have examined each animal and fully satisfied himself about the animal prior to sale.

16. All Suffolk’s in this sale are fully registered and eligible for immediate transfer to any Suffolk flock. Registration certificates will be given with all purchases.

2021 marks 30 years of Solwaybank Suffolks breeding and it has been our most memorable year thus far.The flock was started in 1991 and we purchased top bloodlines for Cairness -Glenisla and Muiresk with the aim of breeding the best.Solwaybank Rock Solid who we sold to the Salopian flock for 26000gns is now the proud holder of the UK Sire of The Year Trophy with an average of 78000gns for his top 3 sons. His record price son Salopian Solid Gold sold for an amazing 200000gns at the Scottish National sale this year.Not to be outdone in the South of Ireland was Solwaybank Sapphire who sold for 5000gns to Aaron Myles and went on to sire the new record priced ram Ballinatone Show Stopper at 44000gns. All in all its been a fantastic year with the flock achieving the top price female at the Scottish Area sale which sold to the Crewelands flock for 3500gns.

The Kirriemuir Flock was established in 2012 and we have always selected Ewes and Sires which will produce length, carcass and tight skins in their offspring.Our achievements include best new flock back in 2015 and since then may we have received many rosettes in shows and sales.Our ram selection this year demonstrates our desire to keep improving genetics, with top rams selected to cover appropriate females in the flock.2021 has been our most successful year to date, with ram sales achieving one of the highest sales averages across the Connacht Region.The females on offer this year have not been pushed and are not long off grass. ERRIGAL JACK THE LADJack was a tremendous purchase for Kirriemuir in 2017. A seriously correct ram lamb,, he has grown into as super tup. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit in the Society Flock Competition and he has thrown ram lambs with great length and skin. He has undoubtedly been the biggest influence on the quality of our stock at Kirriemuir.

CAIRNESS GLENMORANGIEThis super ram was selected privately by the Middlemuir Flock. He has bred exceptional lambs this year for the Machrays and we are looking forward at Kirriemuir to the arrival of his first lambs in our flock.

BIRNESS BACARDIThis is the 2nd time which Bacardi has been used at Kirriemuir. Many of his Ewe lambs were retained in 2016 and he is still going strong at 9 years old.

MULLAGHBOY GOLIATHNo need to introduce this lad! He has produced top class lambs for several flocks and we are looking forward to some fireworks in January!

FORKINS FORMULA ONEA private purchase from the great Gault empire – he is stylish and very correct and has been put with some of the top ewes in our flock.He is an excellent son of 26,000 gns Birness Freedom and we are really delighted with his progress at Kirriemuir.

BALLINATONE BOBBY DAZZLERAnother private purchase , this is a 2nd Birness Freedom top ram lamb being used at Kirriemuir. He is growing well with super skin, colours and confirmation. He was used successfully within the flock this year as sweeper. We are really looking forward to his progeny in January.

CARRAGH FOREWORD

The Carragh Flock was established in 1993 with the purchase of 8 ewe lambs from the Ballyturn flock. Over the years the flock has grown from strength to strength. Top quality stock has been purchased from top flocks in Ireland and Scotland, mainly Cairirness, Muiresk , Strathisla, Solwaybank, Ewe Bank and Baileys flock. J53 X106 was purchased privately for €14,600 from the Strathisla flock, she was twice RHAS champion and was ET’d within the flock.

FHT A58 was purchased from Solwaybank flock and went on to breed Carragh Unique, he won first prize in the novice class, first prize in the open ram lamb class and went on to win the reserve male champion at the national championship 2006. He was top prize ram lamb at the premium show and sale at Roscrea 2006 selling for €7,500. Carragh flock had top average that day.

The flock has enjoyed success in shows and sales, both local and countrywide. The Carragh flock was winner of the South of Ireland flock competition 2006 and 2007. Cairness Centra and Carragh Fusion were the winners of best stock rams in the same competition. The West of Ireland Club championships have been run for the last 11 years with the Carragh flock being Champion three times and Reserve three times.

2017 has been one of my best years getting Reserve Overall Champion Roscrea with Carragh Captivate sold for 2,800gns to Barrowlands and Coolamains Flock and Champion Female with HOL 173153 sold 950gns to the Master Flock.

Carragh Captivate won the Howrad Peel Cup for Best Stock Ram in the the Suffolk Sheep Society Flock Competition 2018.

Show SuccessOver the years we have won numerous prizes in the show ring. the most recent show success we won Second in the weight recorded class at the premier sale in West of Ireland 2019. Other notable achievements were with Cleagh El Dorado who was male champion and overall Champion in the West of Ireland premier show 2013. He also was Male Suffolk Champion in the Tullamore show 2014. On his final Show day, he won the elite prize in the National Suffolk Championship he was Male champion and Supreme Champion of the Show 2015, in Roscrea 2012 we had a first in the ewe lamb class. In 09 in the West of Ireland premier show we had the champion ram lamb and Male champion and overall reserve champion. Deburca Deezer an excellent ram with excellent pedigree and was one of our main stock rams and a large portion of our flock are descendants of this great ram. In the West of Ireland in 06 we had 4 firsts with the champion and reserve champion in the beginner’s class on the same day we had a first in the Corrandulla show with a Ram lamb by Bawnogue Beaugatti and when Roscrea sale came along a full brother came second in the novice class.We entered the West of Ireland Club Championships in Corrandulla in 2007 and had success with 3 firsts. The same year we entered the south of Ireland national championship competition where we had a first in the hogget ram or older class won by a stock ram Carragh Casper a son of Glenho Glanza just as we taught the year could not get any better we won the Novice ram lamb class in Roscrea show and sale with Deburca Bounty

BEECHBROOK SUFFOLKSThe Beechbrook flock was established in 2011 with the purchase of a small number of good quality breeding ewes from long established flocks. Since then the flock has gone from strength to strength with the purchase of good breeding stock from some of the country’s best flocks including Lakeview, Annakisha, Baileys, Mountford, Kells and Castleisle/Shannagh. This along with the use of top rams through AI and purchased rams has seen the flock achieving success at many shows and sales. This year both males and females were sold to France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. Our main breeding ram for this year is Kilmacoo Challenger (Sire Strathisla Speed and GD Lakeview JFF:L41). Purchased in 2019 he has made a great impact on the flock, producing strong lambs, both male and female. We are also using Ballyboe Boomerang (Sire Limestone Legacy and GS Strathbogie A Kind of Magic) for the third season due to the success of his offspring in the last two years.
