What is it?

All Season Sporting Goods is a sports equipment store for all different types of sports including football, basketball, baseball, and much more. At All Season Sporting Goods, we will have anything and everything any athlete will need to play his or her favorite sport

Page 3: All season sport Goods

Type of system?

Our company All Season Sporting Goods will be part of a transaction processing system

Page 4: All season sport Goods

What is a transaction processing system?

A transaction processing system is computerized information systems that were developed to process large amounts of data for routine business transactions. A TPS eliminates the tedium of necessary operational transactions and reduces the time once required to perform them manually, although people must still input data to computerized systems. Transaction processing systems are boundary-spanning systems that permit the organization to interact with external environments

Why All Season Sporting Good?

Our Project is based around a real life situation that all of our group members have experienced and found rather interesting. While working with different companies all of our groups members found some type problem with with how the businesses they worked for was run, and how the inventory of all supplies was handled. The problems with all the different businesses was with the inventory reports and systems. The way the owners did the inventory system didn’t make sense and was a waste of time and money and an all around un-efficient way of running inventory.

Idea

So our group members kept what they learned form there past jobs in mind so in the future when they wanted to start there own business they would know how to develop there business with our any problems.

Background information -Steven-

Steven Stern worked at Wal-Mart for a few summers. He did inventory on products such as furniture, food, electronics, household supplies, etc. Besides transition system skills he also learned great customer skills. He was able to learn how to deal with all types of people under any situation. From dealing with all types of people he learned great communication skills that will be very helpful for our business when we need to help our customers

Page 8: All season sport Goods

Background-Indy-

Indy worked at Dunkin Donuts doing inventory on food, coffee, bagels, supplies etc. While working at Dunkin Donuts he learned great communications skills, and how to work under pressure when they were short of staff. Since there were many times when Indy would go in to work to find that they were short staffed he learned how to manage many roles at once. This included everything from taking out the trash to taking peoples orders and serving them. Indy also was given the chance to become a manager because he was so responsible and committed to his job. With all these skills and knowing how to manage many roles, Indy will be a very important part to our business on how it’s managed

Background-Chris-

Chris Ipina worked at an electronic company for a few years doing inventory on light bulbs, wire, outlet, switches, etc. He also learned to manage his own work sites. By managing his own jobs he was able to learn how to make sure all his workers were doing their job, and they always had the appropriate equipment. Chris made sure the employees were working all the time and not wasting any time or money. He was able to learn what it’s like to work under pressure, and how to deal with it when you’re working on a tight schedule, especially when you don’t have enough people to get the job done

Hardware

The hardware for the our business would include the following

Ten PCs with wireless adapters, 4GB of ram, a 500GB Hard drive. (The monitors for the computer where also are included in the price of the PCs) which came to $6,000.00.

Since we would go with Dell they gave us a deal to include Microsoft Office for free .

Page 11: All season sport Goods

Hardware

five printers from Dell making the total cost $600.00 for all five printers. Other Hardware materials that we would need are

Ethernet cords for about $45.00 each

4 Linksys wireless router and cable modems totaling for $500.00.

In total our Hardware cost would be about $7,190.00.

Software

Page 13: All season sport Goods

Software

Page 14: All season sport Goods

Software

The software we recommend is AdvancePro Inventory Tracking Solution with WDT2200 & Professional edition. We chose this edition in comparison to the other edition that the website offered because it gave us up to ten licenses to use and we had ten computers, it also has most of the properties of their enterprise edition

The total of our software cost would be $3,350.00

Page 15: All season sport Goods

Total cost

Our total cost would be $10,540.00 including all hardware and software

The last we would need to do is the testing of the program to make sure it works. Testing is the most important part because you don’t want something brand new that has never been tested to be used and then not work properly and cause issues to the business.

How The System Works ?

The system essentially works by itself with hardly any human interaction compared to the other inventory systems used in other companies. Our system does all the hard work of a human by itself putting everything the Sporting Goods store needs into the computer at one time and updated accordingly.

For example, if five different people are on line and buy the same Nike shock shoe size 7, and all the Nike Shocks size 7 are sold out, it is flagged that Nike Shock size 7 shoe is needed. So then via Internet the inventory system lets the Nike shoe providers know that the Nike Shock size 7 is needed at the All Season Sporting Good shop.

Page 17: All season sport Goods

How The System Works ?

The suppliers then deliver more Nike shoes the next day or as soon as possible, and the system is updated that Nike Shoes have been delivered and are now in stock.

That is the only time a human has to come in contact with the system. It is the same for all the rest of the sports equipment.

This system is very efficient and an easy way to let suppliers know what you need according to your inventory report.
