All-New Fiesta is slightly wider than the outgoing model, giving it a sporty and purposeful look with a sculpted bumper that gives the grille a protruding appearance.

The bonnet has a smooth uninterrupted design with concealed washer jets and laser-brazed* roof for a high quality seamless finish.

All-New Fiesta comes with a choice of 3 engines: two petrol, and one diesel.

The petrol engine is either the 70 or 85PS 1.1 litre TiVCT or the 1 Litre EcoBoost with a choice of 100, 125 or 140PS power output.

The diesel engine is the 85 or 120PS 1.5 TDCi - the most powerful diesel ever in a Fiesta.

*Laser Brazing is part of the manufacturing process connecting sheet metal. The main advantages versus welding are the smooth surfaces that are produced which also prevents corrosion.

TRANSMISSIONS

AUTO-LIGHTING

4 transmissions are available on All-New Fiesta. They include the well proven 6-speed manual for the 1.5l TDCi 120PS engine which is carryover from Ford Focus, a new 6-speed Powershift automatic as well as a new 5 and 6-speed manual transmission.

The new lightweight manual transmission has been developed to provide smooth gear changes and there is another first for Next Geneartion Fiesta; a syncromesh reverse gear selector. This makes the transmission quieter in operation and easier when slow speed manouvering to select between first and reverse gears.

The new transmission will be fitted to all petrol engines and the lower-power diesel engine.

When the ignition starts, Day Running Lights are turned on and Auto-Lighting mode selected.

Light settings can be manually overridden.

1. PRE-COLLISION ASSIST

Active at speeds above 4mph and using the Forward Camera System in conjunction with forward facing RADAR, Pre-Collision Assist identifies potential collisions and actively helps to avoid them.

Pre-Collision Assist detects vehicles and, for the first time, pedestrians at night time. On detecting a probable collision, a visual and audible warning will alert the driver. If an imminent collision is detected in which the driver does not respond, it applies the brakes to assist accident avoidance.

In many driving conditions collisions can be avoided altogether when the speed differential is no greater than approximately 28mph.

Pre-Collision Assist is part of the optional Driver Assistance Pack.

2. LANE KEEPING SYSTEM

Fitted as standard on all All-New Fiesta models, the system identifies road lane markings that are ahead of the vehicle.

Lane Keeping Alert alerts the driver if they are about to change lanes without signalling by vibrating the steering wheel and Lane Keeping Alert provides steering assistance if the driver does not respond.

The system is active at speeds above 40mph.

3. TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION

The Forward Camera System reads road side speed signs which it identifies and displays in the cluster so the driver is aware of the speed limit.

4. DRIVER ALERT

This system monitors driver behaviour at speeds above 40mph, detecting changes caused by fatigue. A warning icon appears in the display to alert the driver.

Traffic Sign Recognition and Driver Alert are standard on Titanium (including X and B&O PLAY Series) ST-Line, ST-Line X and Vignale.

The Forward Camera System automatically detects oncoming traffic and switches high beam headlights on and off at night to illuminate poorly lit roads while avoiding unnecessary glare for other road users.

All-New Fiesta has a smooth and flowing profile with sculpted side panels that emphasise flared wheel arches for a grounded look. The design of the daylight opening (DLO) reflects the flowing lines of the side panels, emphasising a sense of movement even when the car is stationary. There are coloured side mirrors with integrated indicators.

DESIGN – SIDE

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is fitted as standard on All-New Fiesta to constantly monitor for loss of traction. 4 key safety features are supported by ESC:

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)

If the brakes are applied quickly in an emergency situation but not enough brake pressure is applied, the ESC system builds up the remaining brake pressure to achieve best possible braking.

In an emergency braking situation such as quickly closing the throttle, ESC pre-charges the brake system closing any air gap between brake pads and discs, enabling a faster brake response.

3. HILL START ASSIST Helps to stop the car from rolling back when pulling away from stationary on a hill.

4. TRAILER SWAY CONTROL

Unique to Ford, this feature will be available on a Fiesta for the first time with dealer fitted Ford tow bar kits. When trailer sway is identified the vehicle’s speed is gradually slowed by reducing engine power and applying the brakes to increase safety.

AIRBAG & RESTRAINT FEATURES

All-New Fiesta is equipped with a number of advanced safety systems that work seamlessly together to protect its occupants. As well as front and rear airbags, Seat Belt Reminder alerts the driver if an occupant has not fastened their seatbelt. This now includes rear seats.

A crash locking tongue is fitted to the driver’s seatbelt on All-New Fiesta. The new, heavier crash locking tongue reduces seatbelt slip through the tongue and in turn forward movement of the driver. This feature increases safety due to the close proximity of the steering wheel and column to the driver.

DOOR EDGE PROTECTORS

This unique Ford-patented feature is available on both 3-door and 5-door models.

On opening front or rear doors by approximately 15cm, a protective flap quickly extends and covers the edge of the door to protect it from dents and scratches.

This is particularly useful in car parks.

The rear of All-New Fiesta has a high quality look with an uninterrupted laser-brazed liftgate. Above the number plate there is a hidden liftgate handle and attractive split tail lamps running from the body side into the liftgate give the vehicle a wider look. The rear bumper is designed to stop dirt accumulating below the liftgate.

PARKING

The latest generation of parking technologies are available including Active Park Assist, Cross Traffic Alert and a Rear-View Camera, making All-New Fiesta even easier to park.

ACTIVE PARK ASSIST

Enables hands-free steering of the vehicle into parallel and perpendicular parking spaces. Control of the accelerator and brakes remains with the driver.

The system uses ultrasonic sensors to identify if a gap is large enough to park in. Front and Rear Park Aid is extended with Side Park Sensors reducing instances of scraping and scratching on objects that drivers can easily miss while manoeuvring.

Autonomous Emergency Braking is active when Active Park Assist is engaged, helping to minimise the risk of bumping into other vehicles or pedestrians walking by.

Active Park Assist is available on Titanium (including X and B&O PLAY Series) and Vignale

BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM (BLIS)

CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT

BLIS detects when a vehicle enters a driver’s blind spot on either side of the car, alerting the driver through an LED warning light in the corresponding exterior mirror. BLIS is active at speeds above 6mph.

When reverse gear is selected, radar sensors in the rear bumper detect vehicles that are hidden from view and in the driver’s blind spot. An audible and visual warning will alert the driver to traffic about to cross their path when reversing out of a parking space.

BLIS with Cross Traffic Alert is an option on all series excluding Style

Walk Around Step 3: Rear

REAR-VIEW CAMERA

When reverse gear is selected, the Rear-View Camera automatically displays a view from the rear of the vehicle on the touch screen of the centre console. The driver can view objects behind the vehicle as well as see the vehicle’s projected path on the display.

Rear View Camera is an option on: Zetec (including B&O PLAY Series), Titanium (including X and B&O PLAY Series), ST-Line, ST-Line X.

It is standard on Titanium X and Vignale.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

The Adaptive Cruise Control system monitors the road ahead using radar, allowing the driver to set and maintain the speed at which they wish to drive.

If the system detects a slower vehicle ahead, it will slow the car to maintain a pre-set distance.

Once the road in front is sufficiently clear, the system will accelerate up to the chosen speed.

Adaptive Cruise Control is available as part of the optional Driver Assistance Pack on all series.

LOAD COMPARTMENT PROTECTION

The boot liner is tailor-made to the vehicle to protect the luggage compartment from dirt.

LOAD RETENTION SYSTEM*

A load retention guard, fitted behind the rear seats, allow the rear of the car to be partitioned, when carrying objects in the boot, enhancing passenger safety. Available for vehicles without 2nd load floor only.

All-New Fiesta has been developed to provide a dynamic fun-to-drive experience through its sharp, agile handling. Both wheelbase and tracking have been increased over the outgoing Fiesta, and specially tuned springs, dampers and larger wheels all help contribute to the excellent handling.

Braking performance has been carefully tuned to be more responsive with short pedal travel. Rear disc brakes are fitted on powertrains over 100PS. Low friction components help to improve steering feel and responsiveness.

All-New Fiesta is a class-leader for NVH. High quality soundproofing materials from Ford Focus have been used, creating a relaxed and refined cabin environment. Engine mounts have been further developed to help isolate vibration and reduce engine noise levels.

TOW BARS

Ford-developed tow bars are built to achieve far higher quality standards than 3rd party supplier products.

The tow bars undergo rigorous testing to ensure components and mechanical integration meet strict Ford requirements that are in excess of legal requirements.

There is a choice of two tow bars for All-New Fiesta: Fixed tow bars Fixed tow bars are permanently fixed to the vehicle and are easy to fit at dealerships. The advantage of a fixed tow bar is that it is always available to use.

Detachable tow barsDetachable tow bars can be ordered as a factory fit option or fitted at the dealership.

The benefit of a detachable tow bar is that it can be removed and stored when not in use, leaving no part protruding from the rear of the car. This allows the car to be parked comfortably in tight spaces and reduces the chance of accident and injury from the tow bar.

DESIGN – INTERIOR

The interior has a unique single piece décor running across the entire width of the Instrument Panel (IP) helping to reduce gaps and split lines.

The driver-focussed cockpit has been designed to reduce the level of visual and functional complexity, with a free-standing multi-function display sitting at the top of the centre stack reducing the need for multiple buttons.

STOWAGE

All-New Fiesta has a number of convenient stowage areas.

There is a 1-litre media bin in front of the gearknob with twin USB sockets from Zetec and a rubberised mat to stop mobile devices from sliding around and the front door bins securely hold 1.5-litre bottles.

PANORAMA ROOF

A wide 2-part power operated panorama roof is available. It covers most of the roof area, giving the cabin an added feeling of space and airiness. When opened, the front panel slides up and over the fixed rear panel.

HEATING, VENTILATION, AND AIR-CONDITIONING

All-New Fiesta features Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) for enhanced occupant comfort on many series.

EATC creates one temperature zone in the vehicle that is electronically maintained.

When driving and receiving phone calls through a SYNC-connected phone, EATC reduces the fan speed so the phone conversation can be heard.

AUTOMATIC PADDLE SHIFT

STEERING WHEEL

The automatic transmission comes with steering wheel gearshift paddles, enabling the driver to move through the gears with minimal hand movement for a sporty driving experience.

The 3-spoke steering wheel is fitted with buttons for driver assistance features and controlling audio and multimedia.

The buttons have been logically ordered and simplified for ease of use.

A heated steering wheel is available for the first time on Fiesta. It is part of the optional Comfort Pack on all series excluding Style and is standard on Titanium X and Vignale.

EATC is Standard on Titanium (including X and B&O PLAY Series), ST-Line X and Vignale.

B&O PLAYB&O PLAY premium sound system is available for the first time on All-New Fiesta.

The system delivers 675 watts of combined amplifier power and 10 premium speakers including a subwoofer. Specialist tuning by B&O engineers ensures an excellent dynamic range and fully immersive surround sound experience.

B&O PLAY is an option on Zetec, Titanium, ST-Line and ST-Line X

B&O PLAY is standard on Zetec B&O PLAY Series, Titanium B&O PLAY Series, Titanium X and Vignale.

FORD SYNC 3 WITH VOICE CONTROL AND TOUCHSCREEN

Ford SYNC 3 with Voice Control and Touchscreen delivers a more intuitive, easier to use, faster multimedia interface. Available with a 6.5” or 8” touch screen, it is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

SYNC 3 is standard on all series excluding Style (which has a device dock instead). CD Player is deleted but a can be added as a cost option on all series and will be located in the glove box.

FORD EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

FORD MyKey®

Ford SYNC includes Ford Emergency Assistance as standard which can automatically call the emergency services in the event of an incident.

Emergency Assistance is designed to help occupants contact the emergency operators directly with key information such as GPS coordinates. This provides a fast and effective emergency response in the event of an accident.

Ford MyKey® allows individual keys to be programmed with customised settings to promote good driving habits such as increasing seat belt use, limiting the top speed of the vehicle, and reducing the maximum audio limit. This feature can be reassuring for parents as well as fleet managers.

Ford MyKey® is standard on all series.
