Thank You for Recycling!Since the transition to carts, Saint Paul has recycled over 40 million pounds (19,000 tons) of material instead of sending it to the trash. Some neighborhoods have even seen a 30% increase in recycling from 2016 – great job Saint Paul!

Placing Your Cart Out Correctly

Place your cart on the edge of the property with the opening facing toward the alley or street by 7 a.m. on your collection day.

Put all recycling loosely inside your cart and close the lid completely. Do not put plastic bags or plastic bags filled with recyclable materials in your cart.

In the winter, shovel out a space for your cart. Don’t place your cart on or behind a snowbank, or in water.

Make sure your cart is accessible to the recycling truck. Leave two feet of space between your cart and other objects, such as your trash cart, garage, trees, or fences.
