WHAT DOES THE TICK LOOK LIKE?Did you know that some ticks can be longer than 3 cm long.

They can be seen at night.

They have no wings.

They are arachnids.

WHAT IS THE TICK HABITAT

The tick species was brought into the U.S.A from Africa.

Ticks are found in every state in the U.S.A

They live in the cold places too.

WHAT DO ES THE T ICK EAT AN D HO W DOES IT HUNT

A male tick has a scutum. It’s a hard piece of their abdomen. This limits how much it can expand.

Females drink more blood than males.

Soft ticks are able to complete a meal in as little as 2 minutes. On the other hand hard ticks may feed for up to 72 hours.

When they are babies they don’t have 8 legs yet.

Black legged ticks take 2 years to complete its life cycle.
