Damage to decoration, carpet and floors, access problems andadditional unsightly trunking can all cause alarm interconnection costs to spiral.

For these reasons retrofit alarms are not always interconnected,resulting in decreased audibility and the increased risk to life in theevent of fire. This raises issues under Duty of Care, particularly asBS5839 Pt6 highlights that alarms should be interconnected.

With RadioLINK installation costs can now be significantly reduced, and both interconnection andaudibility concerns eliminated. The high performance Ei 168 RadioLINK mains powered base, withrechargeable cell back-up, provides cost effective retrofit smoke alarm installation by simply usinga radio signal to transmit between alarms, saving the cost of hard wired interconnection.
