About this Manual
Purpose
This Manual provides procedures and guidelines that support the operation and description of the ZTE Alarm Box (V 3.00).
Intended Audience
This document is intended for engineers and technicians who perform operation activities on the ZTE Alarm Box.

NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) Alarm Box Through alarm box, users can achieve the following functions:
Receive short alarm messages: The alarm box will send these messages to certain users.
View alarms: Alarm Box will show the alarms through LCD and alarm indicator light.
Receive audio alarms: Alarm box makes sound to indicate current alarms.
Convey Alert information: Receive data (alarm information, alert information and files) from background. Configure alert channel based on background. Immediately send the data back to emergency management center via GPRS channel, fixed Modem, or CDMA2000 channel.
Many-in-one alarm: Up to five alarm servers can be connected.
The alarm system consists of alarm box and control server, which is usually the OMM server.
Figure 1 illustrates alarm system structure.

The fault management server connects to the alarm box and transfers alarms to it over TCP/IP. Then the alarm box shows the alarms and sends them to the users.
User can set the alarm level to send and receive messages through the alarm management client.

Table 4 describes alarm box icons.

Icon Function
Play alarm sound.
Play no alarm sound. It means that MUTE is pressed.
Communication of alarm box phone module is normal.
Communication of alarm box phone module is excepted.
Network connection with server is broken off.
Network connection with server is normal.
Succeeded in sending short message.
Failed to sending short message.
Alarms: The first number indicates the number of new alarms in other menu, but it indicates the current alarm' sequence number in the querying alarm menu. The second number indicates the total number of alarms.
These signs respectively correspond to the Up, Down, Left and Right key.
It corresponds to C (return) key.
It corresponds to OK key.
Table 5 describes alarm box keys.

RST Reset the alarm box.
MUTE Switch the alarm sound playing mode between playing and mute.
Up, Down Move up or down in menu. Increase or decrease the number in IP address and port.
Left, Right Move the cursor.

Alarm Box Setting The IP address of alarm box must be in the same subnet with the server, for example, if server's IP address is 192.176.120.129, then alarm box's can be 192.176.120.254. Default address is xxx.xxx.xxx.254, and default port is 5000.
Set the IP address of server in the alarm box menu Parameter Set>Server IP Set, which must be set in the same subnet with alarm box.
Set the gate in the menu Parameter Set>NetStorm Gate. Alarm box will show audio and phonic alarms while network broadcasting message exceeds the gate.
Select the mode in the menu Parameter Set>Alarm Tone Mode as speech or beep alarm.
Sound volume, LCD background light and keystroke sound settings can all be done in the menu Parameter Set.

Note: The Gate of Network Storm must be set according to the actual network while smaller settings leads to misinformation and bigger settings fail to detect network storm. Normally, the default setting is 200.
Disposing Alarms When an alarm is received, the system will give phonic indicator; LCD will show it for 5 seconds before returning to main menu; alarm box sends it to the certain users.
Alarm box can save 10 pieces of alarms.
Select the Warning Query menu, press the OK key to view the latest alarm and press the Up or Down key to view other alarms.
Select the Warning Query menu, press OK to view the latest alarm and press the Up or Down key to view other alarms. Select the alarm to be deleted and press the M key to display the deleting menu. In the deleting menu, select Delete One to delete the current alarm or Delete All to delete all the alarms in the alarm box. Press the C key to return to the upper menu.
Press the MUTE key to cancel the alarm sound while an alarm generates, but alarm sound will appear when a new alarm generates.

NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) Alarm Box Management Use the alarm box management module to visually set user information and control parameters of the alarm box. It supports sound, visual and short messages to show alarms. In this way, the O&M personnel would timely know and handle all the faults to ensure BTS normal and reliable.
The following section describes the procedure to enter the alarm box management interface.
1. In the NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB), click the Views>Fault Management>Alarm Box Management menu to enter the alarm box management main interface.
2. Click a button in the tool bar to perform the corresponding operation.

Note:
Start up the server program before starting the client program.
Avoid server shutdown, because it may lead to abnormal client operation.
Setting User Information This section describes the procedures to add, modify, delete or view alarm box user information.
Add User
1. In the NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB), click Views>Fault Management>Alarm Box Management menu to enter the alarm box management main interface.
2. In the User Information tab page, click Add New User button in the tool bar, Add New User interface pops up.
3. Fill in the User name, Short message number and select the alarm level in which alarms will be sent to this user.
4. Click the OK, to popup Confirm dialog box, or click Cancel to cancel the creation operation.

5. Click OK to add the user. Or click Cancel to cancel the creation operation.
Note: Make sure that length of the user name is less than 20 characters and length of the short message number is less than 11 digits.

Display Detailed User Information
1. In the NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB), click Views>Fault Management>Alarm Box Management menu to enter the alarm box management main interface.
2. Select a user from the user lists in the User Information tab page and click the User detail button in the tool bar. Then, a User detail interface pops up.

Modify User Information
1. In the NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB), click Views>Fault Management>Alarm Box Management menu to enter the alarm box management main interface.
2. Select a user from the user lists in the User Information tab page and click the Modify user button in the tool bar. Then, Modify user interface pops up.
3. Modify the user information and then click OK to finish modification of the user information, or click Cancel to cancel the modification operation.

1. In the NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB), click Views>Fault Management>Alarm Box Management menu to enter the alarm box management main interface.
2. Select a user from the user lists in the User Information tab page and click the Delete user button in the tool bar. Then, a Confirm interface pops up.
3. Click OK to delete the user or click Cancel to cancel the deletion operation.

Refresh the New User List
1. In the NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB), click Views>Fault Management>Alarm Box Management menu to enter the alarm box management main interface.
2. In the User Information tab page, click the Refresh user list button in the tool bar to refresh the user lists.

User list is refreshed and new user list is displayed.
Setting Control Parameters Use Setting Control Parameters to set the alarm levels in which alarms create sound, display on LCD panel, or sent to the user.
1. In the NetNumenTM M3 (ZXC10 BSSB), click Views>Fault Management>Alarm Box Management menu to enter the alarm box management main interface.
2. Click the Control Parameters tab.
3. Select the needed alarm levels, Click the Submit button to modify the corresponding parameters.
4. Click OK to confirm.

Telnet Alarm Box Telnet login is supported by alarm box. MML command is preferred for alarm box management. The telnet port on alarm box is port 601.
Make sure the network cable is connected with alarm box. Ping requests can be sent to alarm box successfully.
In Windows, click Start>Run and type in cmd. In the CLI window, type in
Telnet IP address of alarm box 601
Input password to enter MML interface.
Available MML commands for alarm box telnet operation are as follows:

Ping
It confirms that the computer with designated IP is accessible. Number of messages can be specified with IP address. Three messages are in default.
Ping [IP address] <number of messages>
IP address: IP address of the network node to be checked
Number of messages: Number of returned messages. It should be an integer greater than 0. 3 is the default value.
Ping returns the messages replies. Better network condition comes with prompt reply. Ping also returns message loss rate. Better network condition comes with lower loss rate.
Three messages are returned:

Note:
Use routeshow command to display routing information before deleting routing table.
Use routeshow command to display routing information to confirm that the target routing table is deleted.
Save the configuration if any routing table is deleted. Otherwise, the configuration will be lost after alarm box reboot.

CfgTcpComm
Configure the connection parameters of the specified alarm box server.
Up to 5 alarm servers (0~4) can be connected with alarm box. This command is only applicable to alarm server 1~4.
RouteErase [Sequence] [SERVER IP] [PORT]
Sequence: Alarm server number. Up to 5 alarm servers can be connected with alarm box. This command is only applicable to alarm server 1~4.
SERVER IP: IP address of the alarm server. If the alarm server will be canceled, leave this parameter as NO.
PORT: Alarm server port. If the alarm server will be canceled, leave this parameter as NO.
If the operation is successful, system prompt will appear.
Configure the IP address and port of alarm server 1 as 195.152.115.129 and 5000:
601> cfgTcpComm 1 195.152.115.129 5000
Cancel alarm server 1:
601> cfgTcpComm 1 NO NO
Note:
Use tcpCfgShow to show the operation result.
This command is only applicable to alarm server 1~4, use command cfgTcpComm 0 195.152.115.129 5000, there will be an error as the information of the first server needs to be configured with menu on the LCD screen.

Clock [year] [mon][day][week][hour][min][sec]
Year: The year of system time, represented by 4 integers.
Mon: The month of system time, represented by integers (1~12).
Day: The day of system time, represented by integers (1~31).
Week: The week of system time, represented by integers (1~7).
Hour: The hour of system time, represented by 2 integers (0~23).
