ACADEMIC PROJECT Project title:- “Experimental investigation on influence of confinement& surface roughness on fluid

flow characteristics of a circular impinging air jet on flat surface” Team members:- 4 Duration:- 4 months Abstract:- Experimental investigations are carried to study the flow characteristics of a circular

impinging air jet. Free jet characteristics are carried out to determine potential core length. Influence of confinement and axisymmetric detached rib – roughener’s on wall static pressure distributions are also studied .The experimental parameters include, nozzle-to-plate spacing(z/d=0.5-0.6),and rib diameter 8mm.All the studies are carried out for Reynolds number 30000.The flow characteristics are estimated using Pitot tube and pressure transmitter technique. Radial and axial static pressure distributions are presented for the configurations investigated.
