Introduction

This manual describes you the administration functions, and the necessary information for running AJ PENNY AUCTION. The most important part of this documentation is the Administration Reference where all settings and preferences are defined. It is recommended that you thoroughly test your administration preference configuration before taking your site live.

Logging In To AJ Penny Auction

To Sign in to AJ Penny Auction Admin Control Panel:Click on your Internet icon. You need Firefox/Microsoft Internet Explorer.Type in your domain address for ex: http://www.yourdomain.com/admin (you may wish to save this address to your favorites so you do not have to type the address in again).

In the provided User Name and Password fields, type in your User Name, press TAB to move your cursor to the Password field, then type in your password. Press ENTER or click on the Login button.

Admin Dashboard

Admin Home Page helps Admin to know the entire transaction log and the quick tools.

Header : The top of home page acts like a header which will be displayed in every page of Admin Control Panel. The header has some quick links like,

Logout : Using this link you can close the Admin Control Panel. After all activities have been completed you can exit from control panel by using this link.

Change Password : Using the Change Password option, you can change the password for your Admin panel.

Main Page : In Admin Home Page, the main page is divided in to five sections namely Quick Tools, Quick Links, Site Statistics, Auction Statistics and Transaction Log.

Quick Tools : Here you can view User Management, Penny Settings, Package Settings, Currency Settings, Send Credits, Manage Auction, Site News, Site Settings, Payment Settings and Banner Settings.

Site Statistics : The statistics of site will be displayed as New customers, Total members, Active, Suspended members and Today Joined.

Auction Statistics : The statistics of auction will display the No. of Categories, Products, New Products, Live Products, Suspended Products, Draft Products, Sold Products and Expired Products.

Transaction Log : Here you can view the transaction log details of users with the information of username, amount, action and the date, time in which they have made the transaction.

Product Management

Admin can View all items with product id, title, type, current price, bid increment, buy it now price, start & end time, cp/bid and bid placed.

He can do suspend, edit, delete and clone the item.

Also admin can filter based on keyword, category, auction type, bid butler and status.

Add Product:Here admin can add unlimited products for sale.

Select Auction Type

Penny Auction : Bidding on an auction raises the cost of the item by a fixed amount and typically also extends the deadline of the auction. After each bid the item price increases by one penny.

Reverse Penny Auction : The item price starts with the high (usually RRP) and with each bid placed rather than increasing, the price is decreased by a pre-defined value.

Peak Auction : Peak auction allows you to see a wider range of products available or run only on peak times.

Beginner Auction : These are the auctions where only new comers (who have not won any auction yet) can bid. These auctions are a special offer for new customers who have not won an auction before. Users can only bid on one Entry Auction at a time. After having won an auction, they will no longer be able to bid on Entry Auctions.

Free Bid Auction : There is no cost to pay per bid but as the bidding its free a lot of people would just bid taking the price approximately near to retail price of the product or in some cases even higher than the retail price, now you can create free auctions with limit per user bids so that everyone uses the bids wisely and the point of penny auctions (to get some bargains) remains in place. Maximum number of bids per user will be displayed in user view so that the user can decide how often to bid.

Category - Specify the category for the item

Title - Enter the Title of the item

Description - Enter the Description of the item

Video Embed Code - Enter the Video Embed Code of the item

Image - Upload product image, format must be jpg, jpeg, gif, png. This image will be displayed in product detail page

Highlights – Select the listing category Non / Hot / Featured

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Meta Title - Site title that will be displayed in the browser header

Meta Description - Give the meta description for search engine optimization

Meta Keywords - Give the meta keywords for search engine optimization

Meta Custom Tags - Give the meta custom tags for search engine optimization

Starting Price - Enter the Starting Price

Increment Value - Enter the Bid Increment Value

Retail Price - Enter the Retail Price Value

No of Credit Point per bid - Enter the Number of Credit Point Per Bid Value

Bid Butler - Enable / Disable the auto bid option

Start Date – Select the Start date of the auction

Closed Time – Based on Number of Bids / Duration

Payment and shipping Details

Payment Method – Select the payment mode. Users can make the payment through this mode

Shipping Service – Select the shipping service

Shipping Amount - Enter the shipping amount

Instruction and Policy - Enter the Payment instruction and Return policy that you would wish to specify for the product

Category Management

Using this settings, admin can add unlimited number of categories and subcategories listed as per his choice in the website. Admin can add / edit / active / suspend the category. Also he can manage the category order.

Admin has privilege to move a category into other category’s subcategory and much more.

Order Management

Admin can view the details about User's order with Title, User Name, Amount, Pay Status, Shipping Status, Date and He can Send Invoice, Thanks Message, Shipping Info, Order Completion and Feed Back. Admin can review and update all these details easily by selecting the appropriate options provided.

USERS

Site UsersAdmin can view the information of all site users in a grid. The grid will display the user details such as user name, email id, total bids, credit points used, credit points left, won and loss. He can edit / active / suspend / edit / delete and send mail.

Admin can filter the users based on user name / id, bidders and status.

Add UserAdministrator can create “n” number of user account through this form. * mentioned fields are mandatory fields.

Admin has the privilege to add multiple admins. He can view admin users email id, last login, created by, created on and status. Admin has the facility to make an Admin user active / suspend / delete.

Add Admin Users

Admin can create unlimited number of Admin users in the website. Admin will have thefull control over all admin users. The separate Email id can be created for them tocontact them individually.

Registration Terms & Conditions

In this module, Admin can set the content of terms and conditions to be followed during registration. When user registers with AJ Penny Auction, the terms and conditions regarding the website will be displayed. The content should be entered using this module.

About Us module helps Admin to provide the details of your company. You can enteryour company history using this module. Admin can make an outstanding content usingthe editor. It helps Admin to enter the content as simple and valuable.

Using this module, Admin can set the contents that are to be displayed when the site users click the terms of services section. Here, he can include all the details that he wants to convey to his site users regarding the service-offering.

Payment Instructions

Using this module, Admin can add /delete the payment instruction which is displayed in user panel. Here, he can include all the details that he wants to convey to his site users regarding the instructions to be followed with reference to payment.

Using this module, Admin can set the contents that are to be displayed in the return policies section.

Security Center

The purpose of security center is to monitor fraudulent actions and prevent spamming or member harassment in the website. In this module, Admin can set the content to be displayed in security center section when users click on the Security Center link provided in the footer.

Shipping Management

In this module, Admin can view the added shipping service details with name and status. Also he can add 'n' number of shipping services and he has the privilege to add / edit / active / suspend and delete.

From here admin can add unlimited popular brand names with url. He can active / suspend the brands. It will displayed in user panel next to the recent winners.

Admin can add unlimited number of banners and also he can set the redirect URL for uploaded banners. It will be reflected to user side home page header. He has the privilege to active / suspend / edit / delete.

Testimonials

Testimonials are considered as the feed back of your site. Testimonials helps you topromote your site in the market and gives you the successful evaluation about the site.Using this module, Admin can manage testimonials effectively. Admin can view the list ofall testimonials added by users in site. Admin has the privilege to add / delete the testimonials whenever necessary. The testimonials will be listed with the information of date in which they were sent by users.

SETTINGS

Site Settings

Site Settings helps Admin to set the general settings of website.

Web Site Name : Admin can enter any name for the website. It will not be displayed in the website. It will act just as a reference for Admin

Site Title : Enter here the title of your website, which most templates will display by default prominently on every page in your site. Depending on template used, the website title may also get appeared in title bar of the browser window, in every page of your site.

Site Logo : Click Browse to upload the logo image for your website. The size of the logo should be 266px X 80px. Even if you upload the image greater than the given size, it will be automatically re-sized in to default size.

Time Zone : Get your own free customizable time zone for your web site. Select any time zone you wish to pick from the list. The time zone you have picked will be displayed in the website. Number of time zones are given for the ease of Admin, so that he can just click the time and make it available in the web site.

Meta Tags : This entry is essential as it provides meta-information about your page, such as descriptions and keywords for search engines and refresh rates. Create effective well formatted meta tags for your web site with this meta tag generator.

Footer Content : The content that is displayed as footer in the website.

Currency Type : Select the currency, you wish to use for your payment transactions. The currency type selected will be used only for Admin transaction. So transaction will be based on the selected currency type.

Display Theme : Since the theme of a site plays the important role in attracting users and creates best impression form users, we worked hard in presenting you lot of themes for your site. Display Settings of AJ Penny deals mainly with the themes with different colors to be used. By default, it displays 4 different themes with attractive colors. Admin will be provided easy option to select the theme needs to be used at any time. Just by selecting the theme the entire site themes will get changed according to the selected theme.

Display Legend : Here the admin can select the type of legend for item frame

Support Center : The admin can give the URL of the Support Center.

Contact Support : The admin can give the contact details of the Support Center.

Penny Settings

Here the admin can set the Penny Time Check (This will be used to check the last bidding time for item), Penny Time Increase (This will be used to increase the last bidding time for item) and Penny Credit Point Price. Penny Time Check & Increase should be specified in seconds.

Mail Management

Mail Management helps Admin to enable the actions for sending mails to users automatically. The mail can be sent to the user for every action like when they register in the website, after posting an item, got won an item, and much more. Admin can set the mail contents for sending it, whenever necessary. Admin has the facility to View/Edit the mail contents.

Payment Gateways

Using this setting, Admin can set the information related to the online payment gateways that are to be used in the site. Admin can click on the check box to select his desired payment gateway. Admin has the privilege to Show/Hide the payment gateways when considered necessary.

Currency Settings

There are a lot of currencies in the world. A few have special symbols to represent them but most use the first letter of the currency name. Currency Settings helps Admin to set the currency code for payment transaction in the website. This currency settings will be useful to buyer for their transactions. So Admin should enter the currency codes and its symbol and its equivalent value. Admin has the privilege to Add/Update/Delete the currency codes. Admin can check in the check box to display that currency codes in the website.

Social Links

Using this setting module, admin can add links for his site's page in various social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google plus etc which can be useful in the promotion of the site through its users.

CREDIT POINTS

Package Settings

Package Settings helps Admin to create the packages. Admin can add any number of packages and can enter the details like Package Name, Credit Point Count, Credit Point Amount, Package Discount in %, Buy Count, Status and Options. Admin has privilege to update/delete the packages whenever necessary.

Coupon Management

Coupon Management helps Admin to create the packages. Admin can add any number of Coupon and can enter the details like Coupon Name, Coupon Code , Credit Point Count, Valid From, Valid To, Coupon Per User and Coupon Action. Admin has privilege to update/delete the Coupon whenever necessary.
