  • AutomaticIdentification System

  • The Automatic Identification System is designed for autonomous information exchange between ship&ship and ship&shore-based station. This information includes ships name, location, speed and course over ground. Transas transponders also have a function which allows operator to send binary and text messages from ship to ship, from ship to shore and v.v. The exchange of information is realized through two VHF channels. The transponders are working in broadcast mode on shared channels, thus all transponder equipped vessels can see each other. This exchange of information is performed fully autonomously (without any involvement from a controlling station). The broadcast data is received both by transponder equipped vessels and shore based transponders.AIS TechnologySTDMA Datalink

  • AIS TechnologyThe transponders offered by Transas Marine include functionality in accordance with the Technical Characteristics for a Universal Shipborne Automatic Identification System, approved by ITU (ITU-R M.1371). This means communication over two parallel VHF channels, operation at the designated AIS 1 and AIS 2 channels and radio transceiver approval in accordance with I-ETS 300 113.

  • On Board Transponder By installing a Universal AIS transponder on a ship together with ECS or ECDIS system and other sensors, surrounding ships equipped with a similar Universal AIS transponder can be monitored in real time. The available voyage related information includes:

Destination Estimated Time of Arrival Ships draught Type of cargo

  • Navi-Harbour AIS Display

Base Station Transponder(SBT1000 Transponder)The base station transponder is a standard 19 rack module that includes a standard mobile transponder, power supply converter and DGPS reference station/beacon receiver. With an installed reference station/beacon receiver the base station transponder can broadcast different corrections to transponders operating within VHF range. This transponder is designed for land installations, both for stand-alone units and network configurations.
