The applicant should demonstrate some experience in two other sports apart from their chosen sport. AIA SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP 2020 Students wishing to apply for a Sports Scholarship at AIA must adhere to the following set criteria in order to be considered. All applicants must complete a written application by the date specified on the application form. Scholarships are open to (Year 7 – Year 12) applicants who have reached representative levels in their sport. 1. The applicant will have to be enrolled as a full time student at the Academy or be enrolled to begin as an Academy student the same year as they wish to access the scholarship. 2. Complete the sporting resume in full. 3. Complete the relevant scholarship examination as required by AIA. 4. Must demonstrate commitment to complete the Academic requirements of the relevant program (MYP/IB DP/ VCE) as per scholarship guidelines on page 2. 5. Agree to represent the school in sporting events and to act as an ambassador of the school in the wider community. 6. Applicants should be regular and enthusiastic participants in their current school sports program and provide written verification of their participation in the support letter/s provided. 7. Applicants must agree and be available to coach after-school sports weekly and every school term. 8. Applicants should also regularly participate at a competition level of their chosen sport and be able to provide proof of participation. 9. Selection Process and Supporting Material The selection panel shall base their decision upon the candidate’s scholarship test results, sports portfolio, written application and interview. The written application MUST have the following: Supporting letter from: - PE/Sport Coordinator - Level coordinator - Current sport/club coach. Sports Scholarships will have their position reviewed at the end of each Semester 1 by attending an interview and presenting a journal of sporting and/or coaching achievements.

Scholarship recipients will be required to:

A) Represent the school as directed by the Sports Master.

B) Applicants must agree and be available to coach after-school sports weekly and every school term.

C) Achieve a minimum MYP score of at least 5 or B grade or higher in HPE in semester reports and a minimum MYP score of at least 4 or C grade or higher in reports for all core subjects.

D) Must adhere to the Academy Code of Conduct.
