AGPL was incorporated in 1997 initially as Gopal Impex Pvt Limited It was renamed as Agson Global Private Limited in 2008. Company started business operations with trading of dry fruits namely almonds, pistachios, walnuts, gum, dry ginger, cloves, spices, raisins and black pepper among others. However over a period of time company started focusing on high value, high growth products. Company has narrowed its focus on importing and processing mainly almonds. In order to diversify and earn higher returns, company entered into the field of manufacturing of Menthol products, creating infrastructure i.e warehousing and manufacturing of garments for exports.

United States of America is the single largest producer, with the country contributing to over 80% of the global almond production.

Globally Almond Kernel market size is 8 lakh tons

European Union, India, Japan, Canada and Turkey are the major importers with imports

While, the peak harvesting period of the Californian crop starts from mid-August and extends till September.

Indian Scenario

The ever-expanding middle class and increase in health awareness, has lead the growing consumption of almond in the country in recent years.

Indian Almond Kernel market size is 1.05 lakh tons.

More than 95% of almonds consumed by Indians is imported with more than 80% of imports being sourced from California.

The Indian festival season extending from September to December is the peak consumption period for almonds.

With increasing Per Capital Income and health awareness among people the demand for Almond is on rise in India. Almond has been AGPL’s core business with almost 80% of the revenue coming from this division. AGPL with 2 decades experience in the industry has carved itself a major share in the Almond industry of India. The demand for Almond in India is expected to rise further and this gives AGPL an opportunity to reach new heights.

Nourishing Lives Global Scenario Globally, India is the largest producer and exporter of Menthol Flakes.

The other major producers in the world are China, Brazil, US and Japan.

Out of total global production of Menthol flakes India contributes around 73%, China 18% and others 9%.

The major exports are directed to countries like China, France, Germany, Japan etc.

About 50% of total Menthol flakes production is exported to China, whereas menthol crystals are exported to US and European countries.

Indian Scenario India's annual production of Menthol flakes has been rising in the recent years to meet the

rising demand, Uttar Pradesh is India's largest producing state, contributing almost 80-90%, to the country's total production, followed by Bihar, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

Cultivation of mint in India starts from February - March every year and the crop takes around 90 days to mature. First harvesting is done during May - June. Farmers undertake at least two harvestings from the crop. Menthol flakes production in India begins from mid-June and steady arrivals are seen till November.

The major production/trading centres of Menthol flakes cover the districts of Moradabad, Rampur, Barabanki, Sitapur and Lucknow in the Central Uttar Pradesh; Chandigarh & Jalandhar in Punjab.

Menthol finds usage in many industry like pharma, confectionery, personal care products, oral care products, chewing gums etc.

State of the Art unit situated at HSIDC, Kundli, Sonepat. One of the largest unit of Menthol unit in terms of installed capacity of 10000 MT p.a. Present capacity utilisation @ 70%. AGPL has obtained all Global Certifications such as ISO 22000, GMP, HACCP, DA, FSSAI and Drug License required for exports. AGPL’s unit commenced operations from April 2013 and has now successfully runned for more than 2 years. The unit achieved breakeven in its first year of operations.

Textile sector contributes 14% to industrial production and 4% to GDP.

Readymade garments was the largest contributor to the Textile and

apparel export from India in FY 15. Apparel segment had a share of 40% in overall textile market.

The industry accounts for nearly 13 per cent of total exports

The size of India’s textile market in 2014 was US$ 99 billion; the

market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 9.6 per cent over 2014 –23

AGPL set up the manufacturing facility at Udyog Vihar, Gurgoan in the NCR.

The unit is 100% export oriented providing natural hedge to the company.

Traditionally, warehouses in India were “godowns”, gradually they are evolving into modern setups.

By 2015, the share of organized sector of the warehousing industry is estimated to reach 15% from the current 9%.

This demand shall be driven by a combination of growing GDP, maturing industry segments, GST implementation, rising external trade and share of organized retail.
