Sivas’ın tarım vizyonu; modern tarım tekniklerini kullanan, sağlıklı, kaliteli ve güvenli ürün yetiştiren, bölge ekonomisine ve Ülkemize tarıma dayalı efektif girdilerle katkı sağlayan, önemli bir merkez olmaktan geçmektedir.

Bu düşünce doğrultusunda Sivas’ımızın Tarım Sektörlerindeki gelişmeleri ve yeni teknolojiyi üreticisiyle ve çiftçisiyle buluşturmak, tarımsal eğitimin düzeyinin artırılmasına katkı sağlamak ve Sivas’ı tarım sektörünün İç Anadolu’daki en önemli merkezlerinden birisi haline getirmek amacı ile 4 – 7 Eylül 2014 tarihleri arasında hazırlanacak olan “AGROSİVAS’2014 TARIM – HAYVANCILIK VE GIDA FUARI “ nın Ülkemiz ve İlimiz adına hayırlara vesile olmasını dilerim.

The purpose of Sivas Agricultural Fair is to bring together all manufacturers, organizations,institutions, farmers and businesses. Because of our high agricultural potential, all producers,costumers and stakeholders can benefit from this organization. With our organization we aim tointroduce an input supply o the agricultural and livestock potential of our city in the region.

Our Sivas- using modern agricultural techniques, producing optimally healthyband safe products,offering these products in domestic and foreign markets, giving high importance for human, plant,animal health and animal welfares- is a developed area who has a vision of the agro-industrialculture. Ýn this vision agricultural equipment and technologies has a great importance for our city

AGRICULTURE OF SIVAS

We plan to organise our fare in Sivas at 4-7 September,the reason being is that at thisspecified period the harvest in our province ends and the new season begins at Septemberso our farmers has their stock-in-trade enabling them to buy tools and equipment.At thesame time migratory beekeepers and our inhabitants who work abroad present in ourprovince too.

Every year our province sends 500-550 delegates to agricultural fairs of different provinces.

An exhibition of Turkish regiospecific Kangal dogs and Akkaraman sheeps, a market forlocal products, seminars and conferences will be part of our Agricultural Fair.

AGRİCULTURE

The area allocated to crop production is nearly one million hectares. Approximately one-fifth of it is irrigated agriculture and thousand hectare is used for viticulture. Amount the agricultural products grown grains, legumes and industrial crops. Grain has the most priority. The amount of agriculturalproducts each year varies according to seasonal conditions. Major agricultural products include wheat, rye, beans, lentils, vetch, sugar beet and potatoes.

In the field of crop and animal production Sivas has the 1st place in potato and sainfoin production, 3th at wheat production, 2nd in theproduction of oat, 5th in the production of alfalfa, 7th at apricot and vetchling, 8th at sugar beet, 9th at edible potatoes and barley and 10th at theproduction of rye, we are also open for other developments.

The main objective is to obtaining high yields per unit area in agricultural production andimprove the business and living conditions. Agricultural mechanization is the mostimportant factor that serves this purpose. The use of machinery, unlike other agriculturaltechnology applications, directly effect the increase of efficiency. For that reason we thinkthat agricultural mechanization in Sivas has a great importance. Sivas is a city that hostsmany suppliers of the agricultural machinery industry. AGROSIVAS'2014 will be animportant meeting point of agricultural equipment manufacturers and sellers worldwide.

AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY

3407 agricultural machinery and equipment worth 5,550,328.44 Euro was distributed.

Agricultural cooperatives form the most important business center in the agricultural sector of our manufacturers to share all risks what can be occur in the production from beginning to end and produce more and better quality, give a new marketing level and raise the living standards.

Since the first years of the Republic in all areas as well as the agriculture sector we follow our ancestors words 'Together we are stronger' and the words of Great Atatürk 'Certanly there are benefits by being merged, do Cooperatives to combine material and spiritual forces with intelligence and skill' which shows the importance of this issue and illustrates the value.

AGRICULTURAL COOPERATION AND COOPERATIVE PRODUCTS

Nowadays, especially in the agricultural sector of cooperatives, important representatives like theCentral Union of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives are available .AGROSIVAS'2014 gives a special importance to Agricultural Cooperatives and for this purpose a special section of representatives and their products will take place in this fair.

In our province there are 59 Agricultural Development Cooperative, 8 Irrigation Cooperative,1 Sugar Beet growers Cooperative,1 HAYKOOP total 69 active agricultural cooperatives.

From the year 2011 the livestock sector with a nationwide government grant has a continuous increasing trend. Sivas succeeded to adapt this trend and began to evaluate its geographical advantages in first place. In our Sivas, as a result of all these developments major improvement has been observed in the field of beef and dairy farming. In addition Sivas is one of the two most important regions in Turkeys honey industry.

Our region is covered with a wide part of plateaus and highlands which is really convenient for farming. There are many meadows and pastures. In the terms of livestock, Sivas is called the Texas of Turkey. There are mainly sheep, cattle, goats and poultry. Just as our Kangal dogs trout fish production facilities established in the rivers and the Lake of Gökpınar known worldwide.

In Turkey Sivas is the 3rd in animal and honey production, 5th in trout production,6th with the number of cattle and 16th with the number of small ruminants

Is the most commonly performed agricultural activity on Earth. Beekeeping culture is the part of the people of Anatolia and can be found at every regions of Turkey.

While at the 70's there were 2 million colonies in Turkey, till the 90's this number raised to 3,5 million. Nowadays the number of primitive hives is under %10 and honey production raised from 20 thousand Tons to 60 thousand Tons. Honey Production Starts with Beekeeping: The most important factor at honey production is the health and straight of colonies. At the year 2011 honey production reached approximately 4000 Tons.

The special theme of our exhibition will be Beekeeping and Bee Products. That is because since 2013 with 3.309 Tons of honey Sivas became the 3rd biggest honey producer and with 190.290 hives became the 4th biggest hive owner province.

The fair brochure will be sent before the fair to all related organizations and companies, Fair commercials will be published to all magazines related to the sector , commercials will be also published via Internet, the posters and flyers of the fair will be distributed to all public organizations and cooperatives ,fair banner will be hung to major points of the city, radio announcements will be made, All Agricultural chambers will be informed about the event, the fair will be announced to embassies, foreign chambers and industries.
