Page 10: Agentless Monitoring

• Plug & Play installation – no agents to maintain, no scripts to write

• Passively monitors all users, all transactions, all the time

• Enables you to identify the “Faulting Domain” of the infrastructure responsible:

– Client congestion

– Network congestion/problems

– Application Design issues

– Data Center processing delays (Web Services, Message Queuing, Databases)

• Helps you understand performance shifts, and usage patterns via trending analysis

• Tracks TCP Sessions between users and servers/applications

• Auto-discovers Applications, URLs, SQL, Web Services

• Measures end- to-end latency, loss rate, TCP Errors and over 70 other usage and performance metrics

• Provides a real time and historic information aggregated by:– Location, user group, business unit, application, server or server group – Establishes baselines, detects exceptions & sends events for…

• Threshold exceptions• New protocols, new servers or new users• Abnormal behavior (worms, port scanning, etc)

• Help IT organizations understand how well the infrastructure is performing using “real user experience” as the yardstick

• Identify application, network segment, or server that may be responsible for any performance degradations

• Monitor performance at the individual user or server level

• Analyze application service delivery quality by a variety of dimensions – user, network, server, application, business unit, etc.

Agentless Monitoring Device (AMD)• AMDs are network probes that analyze network traffic as a basis

for analysis of end-user experience and performance and usage of key IT resources. AMDs feed their data to Vantage Analysis Servers, and Advanced Web Diagnostics Servers

Vantage Analysis Server (VAS)• The Vantage Analysis Server is the principal analysis and

reporting component for Vantage Enterprise Agentless Monitoring

Advanced Web Diagnostics Server (AWDS)• The AWDS provides detailed, graphical analysis of individual,

multi-page web transactions, supplemented by tools to isolate systemic causes of performance degradation.
