Dorothy Tomiuk, Citizen Member provided a verbal update regarding the Tour de

Mississauga regarding sponsorship, a possible cap on registration and the cost of food.

Don Stephens indicated that poster number one was selected for the Tour with some

amendments. Councillor Fonseca inquired about sponsorship. Donnie Morris, Citizen

Member indicated that more sponsorship was being sought.

The Mississauga Advisory Committee (MCAC) reviewed the 2013 Calendar of Events.

MCAC engaged in discussion regarding the cancellation of the Ward 2 Ride, Bike to

Work Day, the Halloween Bike ride, Tour de Mississauga. Matthew Sweet, Cycling

Technologist amended the Ward 5 Rides. Councillor Fonseca inquired about the

feasibility for a Bike Ride at Erinoaks. MCAC indicated that will look into the

feasibility of a Bike Ride at that location and will get back 5;Commilttee at the next

meeting.

SUBJECT: Quarterly Update on Proposed 2013 Cycling Network Program

The Transportation and Works Department has prepared a list of locations where bicycle lanes, sharrows and/or multi-use trails are proposed for study, design and/or construction in 2013. These locations have been selected based on the criteria contained within the 2010 Cycling Master Plan and Implementation Strategy and in coordination with other City of Mississauga and lor Region of Peel Capital projects. The nature and schedule of the proposed projects listed herein are subject to change in accordance with budget, public consultation and Council approval.

Update on 2nd Ouarter (Aprill, 2013 - June 30, 2013):

Progress in the second quarter of 2013 has included: • Cycling Office completion of preliminary design proposals for on-road cycling opportunities

related to road resurfacing. Review of pavement marking and signage plans with Traffic Operations staff. Consultation regarding plans, as required.

• Public meeting regarding Bristol Road bicycle lanes in Ward 5 on June 5, 2013. • Capital Works contract administration of intersection modification program, which includes

locations to accommodate cycling facilities. • Coordination with Mississauga Transitway project staff and consultants for design of multi-use

trail program locations associated with the Transitway construction. • Ongoing coordination with Region of Peel and project consultants for design of multi -use trail

program locations associated with the Hanlan Water Project and the Region's Capital Program. • Preliminary planning for 2014 cycling network program. • Cycling Office preparation of work orders for signage and pavement markings.

Hi again Chris:

With some trepidation of flogging a horse to death, © I've attached a photo of the trail just west of 10th line and 2

blocks south of Thomas St. As you can see (and are probably aware), this trail does have lines. Why I thought of taking

this picture is that some guy actually apologized to me for being on the "wrong" side of the line (my right, his left). To

me, this demonstrates the subtle influence the presence of lines engender.
