I came across an article the other day, which mentioned that people could meditate any moment of their lives. It was not about the classic meditation techniques where the person has to fix certain body postures and get in touch with the Universe. It was about real-time meditation to understand whether what we do has a real meaning to us.

If we stop fussing about our lives and look at ourselves from the outside at least for a moment, we would definitely be able to answer this question on our own. We would realize while walking down the street and recalling the previous day that the warm wind is tickling our skin, we would hear how city goes to sleep. We would realize in the middle of a meeting with the business partners of the goals we successfully managed to achieve and people we happily communicated with. We would think while sitting on a passenger seat, how great it is to travel around the world and enjoy the delights of modern life, which people didnt use to have a century ago.

The usual and routine life can be real and makes us feel confident. We have to enjoy things happening to us this very moment and this is the way to be truly happy!

  • SRI LANKA:TASTE OF THE TROPICS

In the era of transcontinental flights, a vacation in the equatorial latitudes has become quite common just like the tropical fruits on our tables. However, the interest in the exotics, as well as the impulse to find out which fruit it is or what its authentic taste is the matter of interest.

For this purpose, we are going to Sri Lanka. The island is 500 km away from the equator and is well known for its Ceylon tea and spices. Its juicy, sweet or refreshingly sour fruits deserve some particular

attention they are a flavour utopia for the tourists.

The most famous and accessible all year round is the pineapple. Resembling a giant pinecone, this aromatic fruit with the crown got in the focus of our attention for a reason. It has a reputation of the King of Fruits. Once a sign of prosperity of aristocrats, these days it has rather become affordable: you can buy it anywhere either fresh, frozen or preserved. However, its real royal taste reveals itself only in the places where it grows.

Typically, behind the white stone farm gate (colonial design of the entrance) there are straight rows of plants. Let us take a closer look. The response is usually hidden inside the rosette of the blue-grey slate leaves with serrated edges. Some of the quick-minded tourists would notice during the guided tour that: It grows like a cabbage! It is true, pineapple is the herbaceous perennial, which bears fruit every 15-18 months that is 5-7 months after flowering.

The pineapple traces its history in Sri Lanka from the beginning of the XVI century, when the Portuguese colonized the coast. They came here for the spices, stayed for a century and a half attracted by the abundance of valuable raw materials and managed to cultivate various species of plants. Pineapples along with local fruits (papaya, mango, banana, avocado, etc.) has since become a traditional fruit just like apples in our culture. Today, pineapples from Sri Lanka are exported to the Middle East, Maldives and Australia.

The juicy representative of the Bromeliaceae family came to Europe due to the Portuguese sailors. They also brought it to Africa, India and Ceylon (Sri Lanka's name in the XVI century). The plant struck root in the greenhouses

of the Old World and outdoor in the overseas colonies. In the tropics, due to the efforts of botanists and plant breeders the pineapple turned from an overseas guest into a resident.

Experts classify it to superfruits (popular plant culture that has a high yield and nutrition value). Currently, the number of cultivars is more than a hundred, for classification purposes they are divided into 5 groups. The most famous is the large size group up to 2 kg (cayenne, manzana and amazon) and the sweetest are the small size approximately a size of a fist. Among them is the golden (royal) queen from the Mauritius, which I tasted in West Africa, where it is called sugary for this reason.

    SOME FACTS ABOUT THE PINEAPPLE

Christopher Columbus was the first European to try the pineapple in 1493 in Guadeloupe, where the fruit was called nana meant which means an exquisite fruit. The spaniards called it pia, i. e. a cone. Likewise, the

British noticed this similarity with the pinecone. English word pineapple is the combination of two words: pine and apple. This word came into Russian and Ukrainian through German and French languages.

Sri Lanka is a country where Buddha's teachings became life philosophy for almost 70 per cent of its residents; another 17 per cent follow Hinduism. The traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism look somewhat similar, for instance, a visit to a temple or a monastery cannot go without flowers or fruit a gift to Buddha or diverse Hindu gods.

  • - .

SRI LANKA IS FAMOUS FOR ITS VARIOUS TROPIC FRUITS.

  • 20 AEROPLAN 2016

The local ways to eat pineapples may confuse a European. For example, Sri Lankans would set off sweetish sourness by generously sprinkling the slices with red-hot chili pepper! At first, it seems an abuse of the dessert taste of this juicy fruit but having pineapple once or twice in a cabbage salad you would find its flavour new and interesting. It is the best signal of a successfully adaptation because it is impossible to imagine a day in Sri Lanka without the pineapples.

This island is considered to be the earthly paradise for a good reason. You realize that by examining the incredible number of strange fruits on the market counters, among which are pineapples, bananas (five or six kinds), green papayas with yellow sides (papaw) and oily shining mangoes, starfruits translucent under the sun and yellow speckled passion fruits. July and August offer the purple mangosteens, reddish bundles of thorny rambutans, teardrop blue burgundy avocados, and on top of all that are the giant orange royal coconuts available year-round (Sri Lankan word for it is tambili).

Still no matter what, the travellers prefer the pineapple among any other fruits. Freshly squeezed pineapple juice is thick and nutritious, grilled pineapple caramel slices are a great side dish, and between the layers of a sponge cake and jelly, this fruit is a delicious dessert. Moreover, it has special cleansing properties detoxifying the body and delivering the minerals (potassium, phosphorus, iron) and vitamins (e. g. vitamin C).

Please note: fresh pineapples can easily draw the mouth. Advice: it will bother you for a couple of days and eventually will go away. Otherwise, you can try some local bananas. Their delicate creamy pulp is a true salvation. Discover Sri Lanka tastefully!

WHAT WE CALL A DESSERT, IS CALLED A DISH IN SRI LANKA

...pineapple juice and puree could be jellified only by adding agar-agar? The reason is the enzyme bromelain. It breaks down the protein and does not allow gelatine to harden but the pineapple juice adds special tenderness to meat dishes.

    BLAVATSKA MUSEUM

There is no religion higher than the truth

This statement was made by Helena Blavatsky, famous researcher of the ancient science, philosopher and religious scholar, about herself. The secret of her exceptional abilities and superior mind has not yet been unveiled. Helena was born in 1831 in Yekaterinoslav (former Dnipropetrovsk) in the aristocratic family, a descendant of Rurik dynasty (maternal) and the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg dynasty of Hahnvon Rottenstern-Hahn (paternal). At the age of 18, she has started traveling abroad since she has already had deep philosophical thoughts and ideas, which could be compared to those of the Tibetan monks. Later she has become a founder of the theosophical society, the main aim of which was to collect and spread the knowledge of the laws governing the Universe. As Blavatsky said: I have been sent to prove the reality of phenomenas existence and falsity of spiritual theory concerning the spirits. She used to have a lot of followers and opponents as well. Her activity has declined after a plot took place.

    PETRYKIVKA PAINTING

The Petrykivka painting is unique Ukrainian arts and crafts, which is famous around the globe. Its history goes back to the ages of the Zaporozhian Cossacks. The earliest known samples dates back to the 18th century. Following Zaporizhian Sich devastation, Petrykivka village (which nowadays is situated in Dnipropetrovsk region) was not enslaved and people remained free. This facilitated flourishing and development of arts and crafts in the village. The craftsmen painted the walls of their houses from the inside and outside with incredibly beautiful flowers and plants. The trade fairs were popular among other farmers for the painted dishware, chests and other decorative items. The School of Decorative Arts was opened in 1936. Today, each resident of Petrykivka is a painter.

Nowadays, Petrykivka painting can be done on the paper, fabric, ceramic, metal but the most popular technique is painting on the small wooden decorative items. In 2013 UNESCO Committee included Petrykivka decorative painting to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This unique Petrykivka decorative items are sold on the everyday fair in the downtown of Dnipropetrovsk as well as in the souvenir shops across the country.

ists painting technique it may cross your mind that the village is as bright as the paintings. The truth is that it is a lot like all the other vil-lages but unique in its own way. Lets be honest, you are eager to create here, commented the photographers to Aeroplan.

It goes without saying that the place where Petrykivka was born and has since cherished is not limited to the Petrykivka Onion Monument, a patterned 120-meter fence or a bus stop. The Folk Arts Centre Petrykivka is the main paint-ing headquarter. The Ethnography and Folk Arts Museum and period house of Petrykivka tells the village history and crafts development. Other must-see places are the memorial estates of the new Petrykivka painting school founders Fedir Panko and Vasyl Sokolenko.

Regardless of the peculiarities of this place and its outlook as the future tourist destination, the accommodation and entertainment infrastructure is poorly developed. Visitors who come here from the city of Dnipropetrovsk (53 kilometres by road from the city) should keep in mind that there is no accommodation in Petrykivka. Thus, it makes sense to arrange a full day tour in the village and return to the metropolis in the evening. If you are willing to stay there longer, the warmly welcoming villagers will gladly provide with the overnight accommoda-tion. Apart from learning more about an exceptional technique of art and crafts of the village, visitors can enjoy riding a horse, participating in the traditional Ukrainian Cossacks eco-friendly entertainment and of course trying delicious national cuisine!

    THE PLACE WHERE UNIQUENESS RESIDES

    PETRYKIVKA IS THE UKRAINIAN PHENOMENON!

M agical flowers will blossom and enchanted birds will fly in the Kyiv's Saint-Sophia Cathedral historic preserve. A unique colourful world of Petrykivka painting is exhibited here. More than 300 paintings and household items are displayed on Petrykivsky rushnyk (Pertikivka embroidered towel) exposition.

Most of the showpieces were created in the past five years but there is a number of antique exhibit items from the personal collections amongst them as well. Nowadays Petrykivka products are extremely popular amongst the col-lectors since this kind of craft and art is worth investing. Many active collectors are well-known individuals from the Ukrainian expatriate com-munity. There are people collecting Petrykivka products in Ukraine as well. For instance, this exposition has some pieces from Natalya Tegipko personal collection, resumes Igor Lis-nyi, the exposition curator, who is the master in Petrykivka painting technique himself.

Drawings on the paper, paintings on the canvas, headscarves, patterned towels, wooden household items and furniture, chests and por-celain everything is brightly designed and tra-ditionally painted in Petrykivka style following colour and composition canon. The deep symbol-ism hides under this rave of colours and wonder-ful floral designs: mallow and viburnum repre-sent femininity and beauty, oak leaves mens strength, and so-called climbing plant along the frames of the painting is a talisman or an amulet.

Petrykivka, like poetry, is rich in artistic tools. Its lines are masterly created by the art-ists using a koshachka (a brush made of cats fur), a twiglet or even fingers. Every piece is unique thanks to the individual artist style.

No wonder that this Ukrainian folk art phe-nomenon fascinates the contemporaries. Thus, photographers Maria Savoskula and Sergiy Korovainyi inspired by the marvellous paintings have decided to visit Petrykivka village.

We live in the city so it was really interesting to immerse into rural life and enjoy being closer to the nature. While examining Petrykivka art-

    HOTELS WELCOME ART

I often have to travel around the world organising incredibly interesting and exciting art projects and exhibitions and observe art going beyond the walls of museums and galleries. Today, art is becoming ever more open and acces-sible to the public. Art is gradually extending its influence from select collectors to a wider audience.

There are more and more alternative exhibition spaces. Companies in the service sector use art works not only as decoration for their interiors, but also as an additional tool to attract customers and establish long-term relationships.

Hotels have become some of the most popular and appropriate places where the idea of combining art and business is brought to life. Today, such a practice is already widespread around the world. Hotel owners and executives have realised that guests wish to gain as many impressions during their trips as possible. Many hotels have begun to hold exhibitions or open galleries in their locations.

Along with high standards of service and hospitality, it is important to offer a positive emotional experience. Art as nothing else can create this impression. Thus, guests combine leisure with a fascinating pastime without leaving the hotel. For foreign guests, it is an opportunity to see and gain an understanding about the contemporary art of the country they are visiting, for art has always reflected the most relevant events of its time and revealed the level of development of culture in a country. One of the most famous hotels in the world, the Lungarno Collection (Florence, Italy), opened its art gallery with works of art related to the citys history, thus enriching its guests perception of the city.

For artists, this is a way to express themselves and bring art to the audience. After all, the closer art is to viewers, the more it is recognised. Few galleries or museums are willing to change the traditional approach and work with young and unknown artists, whereas hotels can afford to exhibit worthy works by the geniuses of tomorrow. For that purpose, hotels bring in art specialists who search and select works and provide onsultations to guests if they wish to acquire paintings. Thus, art helps the hotel, and the hotel helps art.

Many hotels hold regular exhi-bitions and have established them-selves as successful art spaces. Some hotels have become so known for

their exhibitions that their number of visitors have exceeded those of tradi-tional galleries. They include Maryle-bone Hotel in England, 21c Museum Hotel in the USA, Bloom in Belgium. Each room at the Gramercy Park (New York) presents a work of tra-ditional or contemporary art, which perfectly complements the design of the rooms.

In Ukraine, too, a vector has emerged in the direction of a tandem of hotels and art. In Kyiv, this is usually conceptual contemporary art. Four and five-star hotels are acquiring rare collectible works and putting them on display in specially equipped areas in the hotel.

M ore than 15 Ukrainian cities will be surged with music on May 21. For the third time, Ukraine is taking part in the biggest voluntary music project in the world the Street Music Day. From morning until late night, amateurs and professionals will perform for all the event visitors free of charge rain or shine. We have discussed the upcoming festival and fascinating travel experience with the Street Music Day organizer Olesya Korzhenevska.

    OLESYA KORZHENEVSKA:

IN A FEW YEARS WE WILL FILL

THE AIR OF KYIV WITH MUSIC

Olesya, what will the upcoming Street Music Day be like?

This year, Nemyriv and Uman joined other 15 cities, which participated in the Festival last year. Traditionally, Irena Karpa and QARPA band will perform at Kyiv Street Music Day. Irena is a godmother of the Street Music Day festival, as it was she, who offered me to take this initiative three years ago. A piano virtuoso Pavlo Ignatiev and Maryana Golovko will be on the stage among hundreds of other wonderful famous musicians. We will also be very glad to welcome Khrystyna Soloviy again this year.

Is the interest in the Street Music Day arising among the visitors or musicians?

It is, among both the spectators and musicians. Nata Zhyzhchenko (ONUKA) and Yevgen Filatov (The Maneken), Alloise, Denis Dudko and Milosh Elitch (Okean Elzy) have already visited the festival. This year, we received support from Jamala and Dakh Daughters band eager to perform at the event but unfortunately, they are on tour at that time.

More and more professional event planners and public persons are noticing our initiative and assisting with their event locations and ideas. Thus, this year Street Music Day

childrens event will be located in the Nebesnaya Sotnya (Heaven's Hundred Heroes) Square. Kyiv City Public Administration will hold the Days of Europe in Ukraine at the Mykhailivska Square and the artists of the Street Music Day will perform there as well. We are planning to organize a site on the National Complex Expocenter of Ukraine and two more at the Peyzazhnaya Avenue. We will try to include Kontraktova Square and Shevchenko Park as well. I believe, in some time we will fill the air of Kyiv with music.

Are you planning on any social events? For instance, something like Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky raising money initiative for the park renewal with the help of SMD.

Weve been dreaming to launch a joint project on installing recycling bins on the Peyzazhnaya avenue with Ukraine without litter non-commercial organization but the total lack of funding of the Street Music Day and its constantly growing size has prevented from implementing this project, since the bigger the event gets the more money we need. The first SMD organized was loss making we had to cover its expenses with private funds and asked friends for additional funding. Last year we broke even. I have no idea, what it would be like this time.

What inspires you to organize this even despite all the difficulties?

It is a great honor to organize such event! I am inspired by the event itself and by the team of volunteers who works on the organization of

the festival throughout the year. It is truly a special event when music fills numerous cities across the world, the boundaries between stars and amateurs dissolve, musicians play beside each other, and spectators are beside their idols. This very day, there is no stage, no entrance fee or paid performance. The Street Music Day is the best day of the year!

Olesya, what kind of travelling do you prefer?

The active one! I have already visited 24 countries. Throughout the year, I have four must-have trips within Ukraine and one or two abroad with my husband and son. First of all, I care about my son, whether it would be comfortable for him, whether I would be able to feed him and only then I think about my personal priorities. Infrastructure and touristic charms are not that important to us.

Which trips have impressed you the most?

We went skiing in France this January. The country impressed us deeply! I was travelling agape with wonder from the Switzerland border to the mountainous area it was like in a movie. Their chalets are so beautiful and simple! Every 10-20 kilometers, there is a castle (chateau) or charming belfry in each village.

What would you recommend to those travelling with children?

My son is not even five years old now and he has already been to eight countries. After each trip, he becomes wiser. My recommendation is to travel with children as it broadens their mind and horizons.

The Street Music Day was founded in 2007 by a Lithuanian musician Andrius Mamontovas in Vilnius. This year, the 10th anniversary of the Street Music Day will take place on May 21 in Lithuania. Each third Saturday of May, the music fills the streets of Vilnius, Riga, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin and many other European cities. This year the event will take place in Armenia as well.

The direction of an old recipe of rabbit pie says, First, catch the rabbit. Note, that it doesnt say First, buy the rabbit or Wait until someone brings you the rabbit. Lessons like these were taught by my Mother back those days when I was a toddler, and this is how I became self-sufficient and independent.

My interest in life is generated by setting up big, apparently unachievable goals and trying to reach them. I just love learning, Im incredibly inquisitive and I love taking on the status quo and trying to turn it upside down. And if someone tells me that this is impossible, I will prove the opposite.

I can honestly say that I have never gone into any business purely to make money. If this is your sole motive, then I believe you are better off doing nothing. A business has to be involving, fun and creative.

I LEARNED A LONG TIME AGO THAT IF YOU CAN RUN ONE COMPANY, YOU CAN REALLY

RUN ANY COMPANIES. I MEAN, COMPANIES ARE ALL ABOUT FINDING THE RIGHT

PEOPLE, INSPIRING THEM AND DOING THE BEST WITH THEIR HELP. THE FIRST THING TO DO IF YOU WANT TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR IS BASICALLY

TO HAVE AN IDEA THAT IS GOING TO MAKE A

POSITIVE DIFFERENCE TO OTHER PEOPLES LIVES.The time spent with my family is very precious. In this

case, I run my business for only 15 minutes a day.

When I started my business, I had a lot of barriers. For instance, I couldnt register my company under the name Virgin for a long time because it was considered to violate basic decency. Afterwards, I wrote them a letter in a 15-year-old-youth-handwriting-style saying: Undoubtedly, the word virgin cannot violate any basic decency because it is actually the opposite meaning of violation. After that they have given me the way.

Virgin Airlines came to me after I have got stuck in Puerto Rico while trying to reach the British Virgin Islands. I was a little more than 20 years old. They didnt have enough passengers for the flight so they cancelled it. I have rented a private plane, made a cardboard sign Virgin Airlines, $39 to BVI. This is exactly how I have started my business. For the same reason I am now building my first spacecraft since NASA is not interested in sending me or you into the space.

T he Basque Country is associated among the travellers exclusively with a part of Spain but actually, the Basques consider southwestern France their territory as well. We are visiting in a unique French city of Biarritz. Once a fishermen settlement in a picturesque Bay of Biscay, Biarritz has now become a famous and luxurious station thermal or health and wellness resort. We can see the lighthouse on the Pointe Saint-Martin even from the plane. There are exuberant buildings stretching from to the South shore to a broad sandy beach.

The resort life buzzes around the lighthouse day and night. It is not just the best viewing point in the city but a secret romantic place for the lovers as the broad beach stands out in all its beauty next to the huge hotel La chambre d'Amour on the opposite side of the Pointe. This romantic place makes you recall the past, dream about the future or do some fooleries.

Passing along the street surrounded by the gorgeous houses with fabulous hydrangeas, we enter a promenade that leads us along luxurious hotels and apartment buildings to the major sightseeing of this resort the casino. Further on, the old

city welcomes us with its boutiques, Galeries Lafayette, port and dozens of restaurants. Going up the hill from the town centre, we head to the market with rich culture. Music and entertainment surround us creating an ultimate cultural fair. Almost every day, we have rewarded ourselves with the seafood and wine or chorizo with black pepper jam while watching local men in the black berets passing by and women passionately dancing flamenco.

The Basques language is Euskara. According to one of the theories, it is related to Georgian language phonetically but based on the Latin alphabet. Street signs are written in two or three languages: French, Basque and English for the tourists.

This France differs considerably from the rest of the country it is noble, luxurious and calm. Luxury came here 200 years ago when Biarritz became one of the favourite holiday

destination of Empress Eugnie the future wife of Napoleon III. They annually travelled to their mansion, which is nowadays one of the seven most prestigious hotels in France Hotel du Palais. As we know, the King is always followed by his court.

Gradually, Biarritz has become the city with rich mansions, gorgeous houses and hotels, vacation destination for French emperors and other European noble families. During the last century, this place has attracted Russian intellectuals, including some outstanding individuals who own the real estate. A local orthodox church is also located here. We visited a mess in the Saint Eugnie Church that majestically graces the cliffy town centre not far from the Statue of the Holy Virgin Mary.

Peace, tranquillity, infinite hope and love this is my holiday experience and impression of Biarritz.

D uring the centuries, Hungary has accumulated the knowledge and experience in using hot springs and other natural treasures to improve health and wellness of people. And it has a good reason for that. Just imagine, there are more than 1,300 thermal springs in Hungary an underground sea of hot water! Moreover, Hungary is one of the five top countries in the world in thermal spring resources!

There are 130 hot water springs with production volume of 70 million liters a day in the Hungarian capital. Thus, Budapest is the only SPA-capital in the world. Besides, Hungary is known for its unique Lake Hvz, the largest thermal lake in Europe, a cave pool with precious mineral water. Almost 100 thermal hot springs and 9 thermal baths have made Budapest an outstanding SPA-capital known worldwide.

The most valuable Hungarian natural treasure is its curative waters.

The country is in the top 5 in the world. Nowadays, almost 1,300 thermal, 315 hot springs and 5 natural caves are explored. On top of all that, is Lake Hvz, the largest thermal lake in Europe, with healing radon waters. Hungarys medicinal waters are used to treat the musculoskeletal system disorders, post-traumatic conditions, rheumatism, gynecological and dermatological diseases, metabolic disorders, digestive and even cardiovascular diseases.

Hungary is prominent medical and wellness destination, since it provides

The infrastructure of most resorts includes aquaparks, wellness centers and active recreational activities. Ukrainians are already familiar with some Hungarian resorts, such as Budapest, Hajdszoboszl, Debrecen and Hvz. Western part of the country represented by Srvr, Bk, Harkny and many other resorts is still waiting to be explored.

Other exceptional resorts to visit are the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath, so called Hungarian Pamukkale in Egerszalk, radon waters in Eger, dry saunas (mofette) in Mtraderecske and Paradfurdo. Tokaji and Eger are also well-known wine-producing regions.

Svitlana Kabish, the Director of the Hungarian National Tourist Office in Ukraine, talking about the recreation activities at the Hungarian resorts in the summertime.

It is essential to understand the difference between SPA and treatment. In the first instance, there is a SPA package, which includes massages and facial procedures with therapeutic or aesthetic effect. Secondly, there are balneo therapeutic resorts that offer treatment using thermal waters with natural minerals. In other words, it is actually a therapy with the use of baths, muds, underwater tractions or extracts to treat spinal deceases, as well as widely-known ultrasound, electrophoresis, galvanic baths and underwater massage therapy. Further to the above, Hungarian thermal baths are great additions to the services.

The thermal water of the largest European spa resort Hajdszoboszl contains high concentrations of iodine, bromine, metasilicic acid and other minerals. Thus, during the World War II there was a temporary military hospital there and open wounds of the soldiers were treated with this water to speed up the healing process. Nowadays, it is a huge health resort, balneo therapeutic complex that occupies 30 hectares! There is an outpatient hospital with its own medical pools, therapeutic services and more than 100 massage therapists. The resort infrastructure includes not only thermal baths, but numerous swimming pools,

kids swimming pools, areas and waterparks. The SPA and Wellness Aqua-Palace has a dedicated floor for children: pools, nurseries and changing rooms. Besides, these touristic advantages are complemented by a vast number of hotels, apartments and private lodging.

The price starts at 20 euro per person for private lodging and 60 euro per person at the hotels with own thermal baths. A full service would cost around 80-120 euro per night. Thanks to a diverse entertainment infrastructure, which is generally a rare occurrence, school children and youth enjoy staying here. This distinguishes Hajdszoboszl from Heviz, which is another Hungarian resort attracting tourist as a treatment not entertainment destination. Lake Heviz contains some important organic minerals and unique ecosystem with seaweeds and beneficial bacteria for health improvement.

Recreation at Hajdszoboszl can be combined with other summer activities such as cycling, sport, fishing and guided tours to the historic sites nearby. At least 10 days are recommended for efficient treatment. A long week-end (for instance, from Thursday or Friday till Sunday) would suffice for relaxation and body reboot.

There are multiple ways to get here from Ukraine. The resort is about 150 km from the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. If you drive, you would need extra time to cross the border. Without any stops you reach the final destination from Kyiv in 10 - 11 hours. Another possibility is the flight to Budapest , then taking train or transfer to Hajdszoboszl (around 220 km). Otherwise, there is a direct train from Kyiv but it takes a total time of 20 hours to get there.

In the festival capital Budapest during Sziget Music Festival in August you can have therapeutical thermal treatment as well. The city has a chain of pools, saunas and baths. We would specifically advise visiting one of the Turkish baths that are rather unique in the Central Europe.

SMOKE ON THE WATERTropical palm trees, a mist hanging over the still waters like cotton candy, a couple of steps more and legendary Freddy would freeze in one of his signature poses. It is neither United States, nor Rio. It is Montreux, a tropical oasis on the shores of Lake Geneva.

T his region is called Montreux Riviera. Even the air here feels different; it is more like a Mediterranean resort with the exquisite aftertaste. Here, the time slows down. Occupying just a few kilometers along the shore of the one of the largest European lake, Montreux is one of the most popular romantic places among the lovers hearts. The town does not require any special tourist attention and is not known for its historic sites or tourist routes. It is a great pleasure to just have a walk or enjoy the view of the endless Lake Geneva (Lac Lman) and Alpine landscapes having got out of the train

station. Everything has an old European ambiance, tidy and neat houses with exterior shutters, clock towers, narrow cobbled streets... Among other things are Michelin starred restaurants, quiet taverns, royal hotels and nice family guesthouses, watches and clothes boutiques, a flea market and even a casino could be found side by side! Generally, everything is set up for luxurious and special leisure time. Montreux started as a tourist destination far back in 1840 when the first hotels were built here.

Nearby Montreux, the slopes that cut into the lake are the vineyards of Lavaux. The view is the best you can get from Rochers-de-Naye. Founded by the monks in the 12 century it has become a UNESCO heritage. The wine from these vineyards is young and mineralized, and Swiss are extremely proud of it. Lavaux wines are available at the wineries or restaurants.

A range of SPA and private clinics serve their guests, offer wellness services and rejuvenation procedures using natural products and high-quality cosmetics.

Railway road connects Montreux with the North and South of Switzerland. Aristocratic Geneva and Lausanne is on one side and exquisite Gstaad (famous ski resort) is on the other side. You can even visit France, which is a few steps from here.

You are deeply mistaken if you think that Montreux is suitable only for those people seeking peace and quiet

    When to start flying?

Based on my personal experience of more than 30 co-flights, the easiest is to fly with an infant. Firstly, it has a certain level of physical comfort, since its very hard to hold a child weighing more than 9 kg in your arms for 3-5 hours without an option to buy a separate seat if the child is less than 2 years old. It would be easier to resolve the problems with clogged ears or put to sleep the breastfed baby.

Use your chance to save money since at the age of 2 your infant is reaching the child category and you have to pay almost the full price of adult ticket!

A flight with the child may raise a lot of questions and some serious concerns of the parents. I still consider my first flight with 3.5 months daughter one of my greatest motherly venture. But as a matter of fact, passengers of any age would feel comfortable during the flight in case of a proper and timely preparation and understanding of the airline rules and little secrets.

    Flights with KLM

    Carrycots

For intercontinental KLM flights, on board carrycots can be reserved via My Trip or by contacting the company directly.

These are suitable for babies that are no longer than 65 cm and weigh no more than 10 kg.

    Car/child seats

If you booked a seat for your child, we recommend that you bring your own car/child seat on board. The car/child seat must be able to fit between the armrests of the aircraft seat, which is 42 cm (16.5 in) wide.

If you have booked a seat for your child on a KLM flight, you may also use a Child Aviation Restraint System (CARES) on board.

    Baggage and buggies

If your child has its own (booked) seat, it may bring the same amount of hand baggage and check-in baggage as an adult.

For a child younger than 2 years of age who will be travelling on your lap, you may bring 1 piece of hand baggage with baby care items weighing max. 12 kg (26 lbs) and with dimensions max. 55 x 35 x 25 cm (22 x 14 x 10 in) and 1 piece of check-in baggage of max 10 kg (22 lbs).

    Travel tips from Air France

    1. Make sure your infant drinks amply during the trip. 2. Prior to departure, please remember to make sure you

have all your childs documents 3. If you are bringing a stroller on board, please remember

to affix a label displaying your contact information.4. If your child is receiving medical treatment or suffers from travel

sickness, please remember to bring his or her medical record and medications.

    5. Choose comfortable and warm clothing (sweaters and socks). 6. During take-off and landing, give your child a piece of

candy or chewing gum, or a pacifier, bottle, lollipop or cookie for infants, to reduce possible earaches.

Pay attention to the connection airport you are going to spend time with your child. The Emirates Airline at Dubai International Airport provides with the Maclaren strollers, which you can use while waiting. Thus, you can check in your own stroller or even leave it at home!

    Lines at the airport

If you are travelling in economy class, there is high chance you would need to wait in lines. Thus, it is recommended to arrive to the airport for the registration earlier. If it is not possible to avoid waiting in the line, you are allowed to use business class registration desk. We used to do this with Eve! Anyway, you cannot skip lines at the passport and customs control. In case you are willing to avoid all lines you can order a Fast Track option at the airport.

    Stroller transportation policy

You have two options with the stroller in the luggage compartment: check it in with other luggage at the registration desk or leave your child in it until the boarding and later check it in by the plane. In the second case, it is very important to pick it up at the planes exit (it will be available until all the passengers leave the plane, later you can pick it up only at the baggage claim carousel).

Usually, baby stroller is not charged as an individual luggage item (editors note: please, check the airline policy)

    Meal service

Take enough food for your child not to be worried about it at least in the course of the first day of your holiday. I used to take a small cooler bag packed with yoghurts, fermentation starters and even homemade burgers for the most of our trips. It was never considered as a separate carry-on luggage!

    Never underestimate long connection time

If you have a long-haul flight with 2-3 years old child, it is better to choose connecting flights. On your way, you would be able to help your child to explore various activities watch cartoons on the first flight, chase around at the terminal and finally take a rest on the second flight.

    On-board entertainment

Every mother or father has plenty of ways to entertain her child, but I have a general advice for you do not rush into using them. Keep in mind that this is a true adventure for your child! Allow him or her to crinkle the bag, to read the magazines, to examine the safety instruction, to unfold and fold the table multiple times, to open and close the shade and to call the flight attendant. When the regular entertainment is over, it is time for the tablet or favourite toy!

Have a safe and easy trip!

You are entitled to bring on board any kind of food in the original packaging even glass jars.

    Relax and do not panic

The most common reason for panicking on board is the infants crying because of the clogged ears. The most effective way of dealing with it is any liquid that would make the infant swallow for a couple of times in a row. Depending on the age, this could be a breastfeeding or any drink in a bottle. A lollipop can cheer up and distract the child.
