Partnership with these associations allows AERO Friedrichshafen to seek out and address issues of importance to the General Aviation community and to organize supporting events which add significant value to the trade show.

AERO responds to the needs of the market with innova-tive ideas and new networking opportunities. For exam-ple, the Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association Europe (LAMA-EU) was founded by 33 leading European light aircraft manufacturers at AERO 2010.

Whether it be Helicopter Hangar, Lindbergh Electric Aircraft Prize, AERO Conferences or the Happy Hour on the exhibition grounds - the fascination with flight and the people who are passionate about aviation are major assets to AERO Friedrichshafen.

Particular focus at AERO 2012 will be, once again, on the promotion of young talents. The “Be(come) a pilot” program is specifically intended for those looking for information on training opportunities and careers in the aerospace sector.

There is no better way to experience the fascina-tion of flight than aboard a plane. Customer demon-stration flights are an established feature of AERO

Friedrichshafen.

Helicopter HangarAnother integral part of AERO Friedrichshafen is the Helicopter Hangar, which has enjoyed constant growth over the last three years.

Helicopter manufacturers, operators, aviation companies, flying schools, authorities and organizations from the civil and military sector will be present in the Helicopter Hangar in Hall B5.

Extensive support from leading trade associations and AERO’s exemplary infrastructure have largely contributed to the favorable development of the helicopter sec-tion. AERO Friedrichshafen is the only exhibition center that provides a self-supporting exhibition hall featuring state-of-the art technical equipment, sliding doors of 15 meters in width and its very own helipad adjacent to the hall.

Engine AreaThere will be an intensified focus on “engines” at AERO 2012. Integrated into the GA halls, the “Engine Area” will provide a comprehensive overview of the products avail-able on the market.

The e-flight Expo focuses on innovative propulsion con-cepts, continuous development of such systems as well as new, future-oriented technologies.

The “e” in e-flight stands for ecological, electrical and evolutionary to promote ecological sustainability and progress in aviation.

Beechcraft Berlin Aviation,Jan Zesewitz,Representative from Hawker Beechcraft:“This year we were very pleasantly surprised at the high number of trade visitors at our stand. We think the exhi-bition’s increased focus on trade visitors makes sense, and it is reflected in the number of sales we made at the show, especially for our King Air line. We have made con-tacts with many international trade visitors here at AERO, and this year there was a stronger presence of attendees from Eastern Europe. We are very pleased with this fact, since we are especially active in this area.”

Cirrus Aircraft, Jeffrey Johnson, Global Event Manager:“AERO 2011 has been going exceptionally well. Visitors have been very interested in our airplanes, especially the SR 22, a limited edition of which was manufactured on the occasion of the airplane’s 10th anniversary. We have already sold one airplane and are expecting five addition-al sales by the end of the show that have already been finalized.”

Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam S.r.l., Walter Da Costa,Sales Manager:“AERO 2011 has been going extremely well, and for us it is the most important trade show in the world. Of our total of 50 dealers worldwide, 30 come to Friedrichshafen, making the show a true meeting place. We have already sold eight airplanes and are aiming for 15 to 20 sales by the end of the show.”

Embraer Corporate Aircraft, Peter Kaiblinger, Regional Sales Director, Central & Eastern Europe:“AERO Friedrichshafen is a perfect place to meet impor-tant people from all over Europe and to present your lat-est products. We are very impressed by the high number of qualified visitors. Thanks to AERO’s excellent infra-structure and ideal location directly at the airport, our participation in the trade show was a great success.”

Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH, Matthias Hänger:“The full-scale model of the NH90 helicopter in the Forward Air MedEvac version, which is scheduled for series production in 2012, is the focus of visitors` inter-est. It is very important for us to be at AERO, since the show allows us to showcase our various offerings, espe-cially in the service area.”

Flight Design,Matthias Betsch,Managing Director:“For us as an exhibitor„ it is definitely worth coming to Friedrichshafen each year. The location is excellent and I am convinced that AERO will establish itself as an annual event. The presence of international visitors has become stronger over the past few years and our foreign deal-ers were very pleased with our participation in the trade show. At the same time, we were able to exchange views on the latest developments with numerous suppliers, to attend important meetings such as ASTM International, and to discuss current issues with our dealers.”

Lange Aviation GmbH, Andrea Dennhof,Assistant to the Managing Director:“So far we have seen a large amount of interest at our stand and are expecting Saturday to be successful as well, since our customers are private individuals. Our participa-tion in the Berblinger Flight Competition helped attract a significant amount of media attention. We had many valuable conversations with customers, scheduled test flights, and are expecting our post-exhibition business to be very positive.”

Piaggio Aero / WINAIR GmbH & Co. KG, Fritz P. Winkler,CEO:“The first two days of the exhibition went incredibly well, and we have had more qualified visitors than we had expected. We are expecting our follow-up business to be interesting. It was definitely worth coming to AERO, and we are hoping to return as exhibitors in years to come.”

Pipistrel d.o.o.,Vid Plevink,Head of Development:“Our new UL Taurus E, which is powered by an electric motor, was a major focus of attention for visitors. The tendency toward electric drive systems in aircraft is clearly on the rise.”
