Many companies seek for competent Linux systems engineers to configure and manage their servers. The Institute of Finance Management announce the workshop in Linux Systems to provide participants with knowledge and skills on effective designing, configuring and administering Linux servers. Learning Outcomes At the end of the training, participants are expected to be able to: Understand basic concept i.e installation, commands, file structure, remote services, process etc. Managing user accounts. Configure security policies relating to users and processes. Configure and administer mail server, DNS server, web hosting, proxy server, DHCP server and samba server. Manage packages. Configure and troubleshooting network services. Course Contents Linux basics. Partition and Formatting of disks. Domain Name Server, Mail server, HTTP Server, HTTP Caching, DHCP server, Samba server. Package Management. Backup and Recovery Methods; dd, gzip, dump. Remote Access. Linux Security; Selinux, TCP Wrappers and iptables. Target group This training is relevant to systems/network analysts, systems/network administrators, and IT security analysts. It is appropriate to IT/Computer Science graduates who are interested in Linux systems administration and Engineering. The training is also most useful for those intending to sit for RHCSA and RHCE certification exams. Training Approach Delivery approach will be through a series of lectures, practical to gives participants hand-on skill, group discussions and presentations. Venue and Dates Dar es Salaam at IFM main campus from 14/09/2015 to 18/09/2015 Time: 1000hrs to 1600hrs. Fees A fee of TZS 1,500,000/= will be charged to cover training materials, breakfast, refreshments, lunch and certificate of participation. Participants will have to arrange for their own lodge.
