See Side Two - How might this apply to you?

Antonio Meucci

If you were Antonio Meucci, you may have worked harder to pursue your op-portunity. While Alexander Graham Bell got all of the credit, and the revenue, Meucci is the one that actually invented and filed the original patent for the tel-ephone. For $10 he lost the opportunity to pursue his invention, and died penni-less in 1889.

A Camel’s Reservoir

People have long held that the camel stores water in its hump, but that is not true. A camel has six interrelated sys-tems that efficiently reduce dehydra-tion. Unique blood cell shapes, reduced fluid loss from organs and breath, hair that reflects the sun and heat and long legs that keep its body away from the scorching sand work together.

If a Duck Quacks in a Wood

There is a myth that the quack of a duck does not echo. It is thought that the very nature of the quack eliminates reverberation. However, the truth of the matter, after scientific examination, is that, “A duck’s quack does echo, but in many circumstances will be hard to hear.”

The Evolution of Man

Do you believe that we decended from apes? Scientists have refuted that myth. The DNA of an ape is too distinct from human DNA; as is the DNA of the Nean-derthal, though Human and Neanderthal species coexisted. 5-8 million years ago the common species diverged into the two distinct branches according to sci-entists who study this.

What are the lessons to improve your business?(Myths adapted from Lies You Learned in School, by Michael Powell)

1. What does it takes to keep a dream going? Vision & Grit. It may have been expensive for Senore Meucci, but the lost opportunity is shocking. Mr. Bell siezed the opportunity, executed a plan and reaped the benefits of a great idea - which was promoted for decades through adver-tising.

2. Think of the small things you can do to increase revenue, like the camel that has six differ-ent interrelated mechanisms. Include a Tidbits ad (which expands by the internet and email marketing we do). Create a marketing plan whereby six little things are interrelated and sup-portive of each other.

3. The duck quacks and creates the same sound as everything else. When you advertise, people see it in Tidbits. Get your name out there, create a voice that tells people about you.

Where you quack is important. Quack where you get the most volume. Tidbits is out for an entire week, and people take the paper home with them so the ad exists for much longer than a quick read. AND We don’t bury your ad in a lot of pages, nor among a lot of ads.

4. We only think apes are more closely related because of how they look. Much of what we think to be true about a recession is only true because we think it and live in FEAR. FEAR is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Media gets you to look at their programs by making issues MUCH bigger than they are. Politicians want you to see problems everywhere because then you need them. News is boring if it isn’t dramatic. (Did you know oil leakes out of cracks in the earth’s crust all of the time?)

In Zimbabwe the unemployment rate is 80%; they can’t get up from that far down. 90% of us are employed so we still hold the reins to turn things around by our grit and innovative abili-ties.

JOIN Tidbits® 1. Execute an advertisement that you can afford. 2. Make it a part of a 6 layer plan. 3. Put your ad where it won’t be buried. 4. Be Confident, Optimistic and Bold
