The Advantages of Mixed Marriages
Mixed marriage is not a fresh or new phenomenon in Malaysia.
Theoretically, the probability
of mixed marriage to be happened in Malaysia should be high
since Malaysia is a multi-racialcountry. There are some benefits
that can be brought from mixed marriage. Mixed marriage
can enhance the integration of Malaysia. This is because it
encourages and increases the
possibility of interaction between ethnics. Moreover, mixed
marriage also increases the
exchange of religions, languages, customs and cultures among
people in Malaysia internally.
Thus, this may stimulate some new element of culture in
Malaysia.Genetics between different
cultures and races vary drastically. When these races are
blended together, children can benefit.
Each race has their own set of diseases or an increased rate of
diseases. When children are born
from a mixed marriage, their risk of developing a disease that
is higher in a particular race can
be reduced.
People who are part of a mixed marriage are more tolerant of
other races and cultures. The
parents and the children are more accepting of other races and
learn each other's perspectives.
Children, especially, are less likely to be intolerant of
someone because of their race. Children
quickly learn that each person is unique and likely sees a
person for who they are, rather than
their race or their culture.
Mixed marriages allow each person to learn about one another's
cultures, religions and race. It
is important for the couple to talk about each other's beliefs
and values. Becoming a partner in
a mixed marriage opens up the entire world for each partner. The
history of the race and thefamily rituals and celebrations become
part of each partner's world. Many couples in mixed
marriages are exposed to an entirely new way of life, including
a new country or even a new
language.
A mixed marriage becomes a success and is full of benefits when
it is started on the right foot.
One of the best ways for couples to do this is to find an area
that is tolerant and accepting of
mixed marriages. When a mixed marriage is successful, the
advantages for each person and the
children can continue for generations.
In my opinion, when someone marry other races or cultures they
can constitute a new culture.
This is because of deficient communication skills on the part of
spouses. So they must create a
new method to harmonize themselves. They must leave out old
culture to take care of their
partners feelings. They must be open minded towards their
problems.
