Soon, 60 volunteers will be “Rock’n and a Roll’n” dur-ing The Chamber’s annual Spring Membership Drive, which kicks off April 16th. Ten teams of 6 will call on businesses who are not currently chamber members to tell them about the benefits of joining. And they know, because all 60 volunteers represent business-es like yours who are already chamber members!

Volunteers will have fun competing for prizes do-nated by other members. They are taking time from their day to promote The Chamber because they understand how important it is for their business to be a member and want to share that experience with others.

The strength of The Chamber GF/EGF is due to our members. Your Chamber is “The Voice of Business” working to promote and advocate for our business community.

Sletten Wins Map Design Award AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.) Survey Technician Adam

Sletten was the recipient of the Map Design Award presented at the North Da-kota Society of Professional Land Surveyors annual conference held in Bismarck, ND.

Sletten won the award for the completion of an ALTA (American Land Title Asso-ciation) survey of “The Grove at Campus Crest”, an apart-ment community development catering to college students located north of the Canad Inn in Grand Forks, North Dakota. An ALTA survey is a very detailed survey done for a title company and/or lender

in which survey and location data is needed to issue title or mortgage insurance. For this purpose, a map is drawn to ALTA specifications.

Entries for the Map Design Award are judged based on completeness and accuracy as they relate to the type of drawing entered, conformance to drawing standards, and neatness or appearance.

“Adam joins a growing list of AE2S surveyors who have won this award,” said Todd Norton, PLS, Survey/Project Manager at AE2S. “We are proud of their work and look forward to conducting more of these important surveys for our cli-ents.”

Sletten joined AE2S in 2010 as an intern and has worked on survey and technical services projects for the firm through-out the upper Midwest region.

PF 12 is a 20-year power forecast, which encompasses 43 counties in three states: North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana.

KLJ’s study confirmed that electrical demand from the oil and gas industry in the Willis-ton Basin will continue to grow dramatically, and results indi-cate that by 2032, electrical demand in the Williston Basin will have nearly tripled current demand. PF 12 results have the potential to help each of the three states support and approve significant invest-ments in electrical generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure.
