TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF OFFER AND REGISTRATION
CONGRATULATIONS for being selected to join the International Islamic University Malaysia and welcome to the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue. This information is provided to prepare you for registration at the University. Please read carefully and follow the instructions given. 1. ACCEPTANCE/REJECTION OF OFFER
1.1 You are requested to ACCEPT or REJECT our offer at
http://eadmission.iium.edu.my/index.php/student/eas_login period as stated in the offer letter; otherwise the offer of admission will be automatically revoked.
1.2 If you have decided to reject our offer, please take note that you may not be considered
for admission into the IIUM programme in the future and no further appeal for admission will be entertained.

2. PROCEDURE TO OBTAIN STUDENT PASS
All International students who are coming to IIUM must to apply for the Visa Approval Letter (VAL). It is a directive from the Government of Malaysia that starting from 1st April 2015 all applications will be processed by the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). Student may log into the online application via EMGS website. Information on how to apply is available on the website http://educationmalaysia.gov.my/. You are required to submit your application at least 6 weeks before the date of enrollment. Please refer the user guideline as appendix B. Please be reminded that international students are not allowed to enter Malaysia unless the Immigration Department of Malaysia has approved their visa for student pass. Therefore, please do not make any arrangements to come to the university before you receive the visa approval letter (VAL).

The university will not be responsible if you come to Malaysia without the visa approval and you will have to return to your home country at your own expense. The university will not provide any passage allowance for your return or any extra allowance to pay for the immigration purpose. All expenses incurred must be borne by you. You are also required to make the necessary travelling arrangement to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. International students must ensure that their international passport has a validity period of at least two (2) years or throughout your study period.
STEP 1: APPLY VISA APPROVAL LETTER (VAL)
Effective 1st October 2016, all new International students that has been offered admission by IIUM may
apply Student Visa directly through the EMGS website. Applicant may refer the guideline how to apply
for VAL at Appendix A
Kindly note that Online EMGS Student Visa system is applicable for those applicant who are residing
outside Malaysia. For those applicants are in Malaysia with Social Pass or Visit Pass must exit Malaysia
and applying VAL at their home country until get approval by Immigration Malaysia. The application for
VAL will not process if applicant fail to adhere the procedure.
Applicants who are residing in Malaysia and holding valid visa or pass (student pass or dependent pass)
must surrender the hard copy of the document to International Student Admission Unit, IIUM. Please
ensure that validity of current pass more than one (1) month. Please refer to appendix B.
STEP2: TRACK YOUR VISA APPLICATION STATUS
Student may check the Student Visa application status at this link https://educationmalaysia.gov.my .
IIUM will email you Visa Approval Letter via email after approval given by the Immigration Malaysia.
Kindly note that you are advised to alert with any notification update by EMGS if pending process due to
incomplete document.
STEP 3: APPLY SINGLE ENTRY VISA (SEV)
Once received the Visa Approval Letter (VAL), student may plan or make arrangement to enter Malaysia.
The Visa Approval Letter is only valid for six (6) months. Student MUST apply for Single Entry Visa within
the validity of VAL. Failing to do so; a new application for VAL has to be made.
Application to obtain Single Entry Visa can be made at Malaysian Embassy as stated at your VAL.
However, if you are citizen of a country that does not require a visa to enter Malaysia, you will be able
to enter Malaysia provided you produce the VAL at the point of entry. Failure to produce a VAL may
result in you not being allowed to enter the country.
Kindly check with Malaysian Embassy at your home country before finalizing your travel to this country.
Students are advised to enter Malaysia two or three days before the enrolment day.

STEP 4: ARRIVAL IN MALAYSIA
Upon arrival at the airport / entry point in Malaysia, you will be required to show your Visa Approval
Letter (VAL) or Single Entry Visa at the immigration check point. A special pass will be stamped in your
passport to give you valid stay while you process your student pass. The validity of this special pass can
range between 14 to 30 days. This is at the discretion of Immigration Department.
STEP 5: STUDENT PASS
Within that period given, you will need to complete the following process obtaining student pass:
A) Enroll as a student
B) Do the Medical checkup within 7 days from the date of entry
C) Apply for student pass at Visa Unit, International Office. You are required to surrender
your passport, insurance cover note and revenue stamp RM10
You may check the progress of student pass through EMGS website. The student pass will be replacing
the temporary special pass which you received at the point of entry. Once your student has been issued,
EMGS will be issue your student identity card (iKad). Visa Unit, IIUM will notify you via email or phone
call for passport collection.
*NOTE: International students wish to bring their family may apply for dependent pass after the student
pass issued and approved.
3. FEES AND CHARGES For the purpose of registration you are required to pay the stipulated amount as per stated in the offer letter. Payment can be made by means of: Bank Telegraphic Transfer

4. DEFERMENT
If you have accepted the offer but wish to defer the registration for up to one year due to valid reasons acceptable by the University, please submit the deferment form to the following address at least one (1) month before the registration day for which this offer of admission was given:

6. TA’ARUF (ORIENTATION) PROGRAMME
It is compulsory for all new Undergraduate students to attend Ta’aruf Programme conducted by the University. The purpose of the Ta’aruf Programme is to familiarize new students to the campus activities and infrastructures, its academic requirements and its campus life.
7. LANGUAGE PLACEMENT TEST All new students are required to sit for the following tests conducted by the University after the registration day:
i) English Proficiency Test (EPT) ii) Arabic Placement Test (APT) iii) Tilawah Placement Test (TPT) – Undergraduate student only
Students who fail to achieve the minimum score would be required to undergo the Special Language Programme before proceeding to the respective programme of studies. Additional

tuition and academic administrative fees will be charged to the students enrolled in the PRSS programme. The maximum duration of Pre-Sessional Programme (PRSS) is two (2) years. 6.1 However, students who sat for IELTS or TOEFL and passed the test with the minimum band are not required to sit for the ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST. They have to show the results to Centre for English Language and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD) for the exemption of the test.

8. TILAWAH PLACEMENT TEST (TPT)
All Undergraduate new students are required to sit for the Tilawah Placement Test (TPT) to determine their ability in reciting the Quran. Students will be evaluated based on the extent of their ability in reciting the Quran fluently and smoothly including the ability to apply tajweed in their recitation. The results of the test are as follows:
1) Level 1 (TQ 1011) - to register and complete the course. Then register for Level 2. 2) Level 2 (TQ 2011) - to register and complete the course. 3) Exempted - exempt from taking tilawah course
9. BRIDGING PROGRAMME
Bridging Programme is a programme for students with certificates that are not equivalent to ‘A’ Level but higher than ‘O’ Level or with 12 years of schooling. All students shall have to undergo a preparatory courses
The Bridging students who have achieved level 4 during English Proficiency Test (EPT) must undergo the languages courses prior entering the Bridging programme. The preparatory courses that have to be taken are as follows:

HOW TO APPLY FOR VISA APPROVAL LETTER (VAL) THROUGH EMGS
WEBSITE STEP 1: CREATE AN ACCOUNT
Apply your Visa Approval Letter through the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) website at
http://educationmalaysia.gov.my.
STEP 2: FILL OUT THE APPLICATION FORM
1. Institution Type – Select Public Higher Education Institution
2. Institution Name – Select “UNIVERSITI ISLAM ANTARABANGSA MALAYSIA”
3. Year of Intake – As stated in the offer letter (enrolment date). If you are a deferred
student please refer to the deferment letter.
4. Month of Intake – As stated in the offer letter (enrolment date). If you are a deferred
student please refer to the deferment letter.
5. Course Name – As stated in the offer letter
6. Course Duration of Study – This field will be automatically filled up based on the course
you selected
7. Course Level – This field will be automatically filled up based on the course you

USER GUIDE HOW TO APPLY VISA APPROVAL LETTER (VAL) FOR THOSE RESIDING IN
MALAYSIA AND HOLDING VALID VISA (DEPENDANT PASS OR STUDENT PASS)
Kindly scan and submit the following documents via email at [email protected]. You may also submit hardcopy of
the following document at International Student Admission Unit, IIUM.
1. Scanned copy Acceptance form
2. Scanned copy of IIUM Offer letter
3. Copy of payment slip/receipt for processing of the VAL
4. Copy/Scanned copy of passport with minimum of TWO (2) years validity and (MUST BE all pages, including
the front and back cover, PDF Format)
5. Copy/Scanned copy of your original and translation certificate and transcript (Bachelor /Master)
6. One softcopy of passport sized photo (jpeg format) (3.5cm x 4.5cm or 217px x 280px with white colored
background),.
7. The complete address of Embassy of Malaysia at home country or the nearest (as required in acceptance form)
8. Copy/Scanned copy of No Objection Certificate (NOC) or Letter of Eligibility (LOE) for Iranian and Sudanese.
** IIUM will not process your VISA Approval Letter (VAL) if you failed to submit the above documents.
Please make sure your student pass or dependents pass still valid at least two month before expired.
