Admission and Retention Policies At Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College – School of Midwifery, we're committed to helping qualified students get admitted to GADTC to begin earning their Midwifery diplomas under the Full Scholarship Program (Free Tuition + Misc) A. Admission Requirements A student, to be admitted for enrolment should be a high school graduate. New students should present their Form 138 or High School report card and a certificate of good moral character from principal or guidance counselor. a.1 Psychological Test – The psychological test is an aptitude test to further determine the student’s capabilities for the Diploma in Midwifery. This is given by the Guidance and Testing Center. All students are required to take the Psychological Test. An applicant must obtain an AVERAGE IQ Test result to qualify for the Full Scholarship Program. a.2 Placement Test – Tests in English, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Filipino and Mathematics are given to all freshmen. Applicant must obtain a rating of not less than 80%. These are classification tests for sectioning. a.3 Transferring Students – Transferring students must have passed at least 67% of the total units they have enrolled in (excluding units in PE, RE and CMT) from other schools or colleges. In special cases, upon favorable recommendation of the College Admission and Retention Committee, the preceding requirement may be waived. A residency of at least 1 year is required before a student can qualify for a diploma. a.5 Panel Interview B. Retention of Students b.1. A student, to remain in good standing, must obtain a grade of not less than 80% in all subjects he has enrolled in during the immediate preceding semester. b.2. A student who fails to meet requirement (b.1) may request admission and upon approval of the School of Midwifery Committee on Admission and Retention, shall be placed on probation with a maximum of 18 units load and remedial class.

b.4. A student who fails at any subject during the probation period shall be dropped from the School of Midwifery Full Scholarship Program.Such student may apply for admission to the School of Midwifery as a regular paying student.
