Now, today she is the managing attorney of the newMichael Sullivan & Associates Oakland office located at1999 Harrison Street, Suite 1800 in Oakland, California. This Oakland office has been open less than two monthsnow, so the inaugural party is happening one week fromtoday, on October 23rd 2014 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the LakeChalet Seafood Bar & Grill in Oakland. Megan was recently a supervising attorney in the MichaelSullivan & Associates Los Angeles office. “I supervised sixlawyers when I was down in L.A.; so, it’s actually aninteresting change of pace because I don’t have theobligation of supervising other lawyers right now,” shesays. “I have this opportunity to just really dive back intothe work.” And she plans to enjoy that.

The immediate plan for the new law office is to make thecontacts and develop relationships. Megan expressesshe’d like to “grow this firm in the Oakland office to sevenor eight attorneys; and then, hopefully, if we’re successfulin this area, to expand and open other offices in thenorthern California area. Maybe in San Jose. Sacramento. That’s the long term plan.” But for the moment Megan just wants to stay focused onOakland and to grow the Oakland office. “And be the bestoffice that we can be.” Megan Sullivan knows the state of California well, fromnorth to south. She was born and raised in OrangeCounty, went to law school at Southwestern School of Lawin Los Angeles, worked some years in the Michael Sullivan& Associates Los Angeles office while living in the area,and then got to know the Bay Area while getting to knowher husband, who is from the Bay Area and went toschool in San Francisco.
Michael Sullivan, the founder of Michael Sullivan & Associates Megan also has an older sister who lives in San Jose andis a professor, so she has spent time in her life living withher sister and being a part of that community. MichaelSullivan is the oldest of the six offspring in a family whereMegan Sullivan is the youngest of those siblings. Thus,this is an educated family of extensive readers who live inand love California.

Megan also reads, writes, and speaks the Spanishlanguage, and therefore is a member of the pervasivelybilingual culture of California. She did a study-abroadprogram in Spain during her undergraduate days whichgave her a strong foundation. Now she is excited about her job as the managingattorney of the Michael Sullivan & Associates Oaklandoffice. “It’s been in the plans for a long time,” Megansays. “It’s been a couple of years that we’ve beenplanning to try and come up to the northern Californiaarea. So, I right now feel like I’m fulfilling something thatwe’ve been working towards for a really long time.
