3. Canadian Requirements for Supervisory SignalsOverviewThe National Standard of Canada (CAN/ULC-S527) requires that a dedicated display employ yellow visual indicators toindicate the status of Supervisory Inputs. The Notifier Annunciators listed below are intended to be used for CanadianSupervisory Service in conjunction with Notifier AFP-200, AFP-400, S500, S2500 and S5000 control units. The ACM-32A, AEM-32A, AFM-32A, ACM-16AT, AEM-16AT, and AFM-16A Annunciators can not be employed for ULCSupervisory Service.
ACM-16 Series AnnunciatorsInstallation Instructions Install these annunciators by following the ACM-16AT Series installation instructions in theAnnunciator Control System Manual, Document 15842.Common Features Local Silence/Acknowledge Switch, System Trouble/Supervisory LED (yellow), Local Sounder(piezo), On-Line LED (green) and Lamp Test.Annunciator Expansion Expander Modules AEM-16AT and AEM-16ATY allows expansion to 64 points. EachAEM-16AT provides an additional 16 alarm points, while the AEM-16ATY provides an additional 16 supervisory points.Annunciator Points Table 1 contains descriptions of the types of points for ACM-16 Series Annunciators:

Initiating Modules
IZM-8, IZ-8, and AIM-200 Modules should not be used for ULC Supervisory Service.
Note: Figure 7 shows IZM-8CS4 and IZM-8CS modules. IZ-8CS4 and IZ-8CS modules are similar, except they do nothave switches.
Installation Instructions IZM-8CS4 and IZM-8CS modules are compatible with a S5000 control unit. Install these modules by following the
IZM-8 installation instructions in the System 5000 Installation Manual, Document 15583.
IZ-8CS4 and IZ-8CS modules are compatible with S500 and S2500 control units. Install the IZ-8CS by following theIZ-8 installation instructions in the System 500 Installation Manual, Document 15019 or the System 2500 InstallationManual, Document 15969.

Control Points and Annunciator PointsThere is a fixed relationship between the control panel points and the annunciator points in S500, S2500, and S5000systems. This relationship must be observed when configuring a system for Canadian Supervisory Service. This sectionprovides examples showing the maximum number of annunciator points. Annunciators shown shaded (in the examples)are not normally used.
