The specifications for SDV and BDV are as follows :

The actuators and controls are sized in accordance with the following supply conditions:

Pneumatic actuators shall be operated by instrument air at the following pressure range.• minimum 4,2 barg (actuator sizing)• maximum 5,72 barg • design 12 barg (actuator pressure retain parts can withstand a pick pressure of

14 barg for 1 hour)

Pneumatic Actuators are sized based on safety factor of 1.5 times the maximum torque from the valves.

Pneumatic spring return actuator based on the scotch yoke mechanism especially designed to provide an output torque curve which covers the most common quarter turn valve torque requirement along the full 90° stroke.

• Carbon steel enclosure• Totally enclosed weatherproof body. • Scotch yoke mechanism.• Pneumatic cylinder, electro-less nickel-plated to reduce surface roughness and provide

minimum friction and maximum protection against corrosion.• Carbon steel piston with dynamic floating O ring seals.• Totally enclosed spring enclosure cartridge with additional safety feature in order to avoid injury

during disassembly of the spring enclosure.• Mechanical end stoppers on pneumatic cylinder, to ensure accurate angular stroke adjustment

(standard execution 90° +/-5°). Visual position indicator showing actuator /valve full stroke.

SECTION 1 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION – CONTROL PANELS

SECTION 1.1CONTROL CIRCUIT

Control system shall be assembled on a stainless steel sight view backplate mounted directly onto the actuator and shall include the following components:

• n. 1 off isolation valve in stainless steel;

• n. 1 off check valve in stainless steel;

• n. 1 off safety relief valve in stainless steel;

• n. 2 off (n. 3 off solenoid valve for tag 29-SDV-101 only, as requested in TC4) 3/2 spring return solenoid valve in stainless steel, explosion proof, 24 VDC (Asco make solenoid valve with coil rating of 4W, Maxseal make solenoid valve with coil rating of 3W);

• n. 1 off 3/2 pneumatic valve spring return in stainless steel (only when necessary for achieved the required flow rate),

• n. 1 off uni-directional flow regulator in stainless steel for regulation of stroking time in opening;

• n. 1 off check valve in stainless steel (for close loop);

• n. 1 off bi-directional flow regulator in stainless steel for regulation of stroking time in closing (for close loop);

• n. 1 off quick exhaust valve in stainless steel (for close loop);

• n. 1 off Hart position transmitter described in section 5.3;

• Tubing in Duplex material, Metric size;

• Compression fittings in stainless steel, Swagelock make.
