WORDS IN THE BLOCKCan you find all the words about sun care in the block? Give it a try!

SUN SAFETY

Playing outside with your friends can be lots of fun, but whether it’s winter or summer, the sun can still harm your skin.

That’s why it’s so important to protect your skin from the sun’s harsh rays by using sunscreen everyday even when you’re just going to

school. You can also keep your skin safe by: • Staying in the shade.

• Wearing hats and caps. • Wearing clothes that will cover

most of your skinRemember!

Apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you go outside so it has time to get absorbed by

your skin.

Pollution is bad for us and our earth. The best way to help prevent pollution is to recycle! Recycling means taking something old (that you’re going to throw away) and using it for something else. This means that it won’t end up hurting the environment. Ask your parents how you can help recycle!

SAVING OUR EARTH

ANSWER: Please recycle

CODE CRACKERYou’re Nivea’s detective of the reef! Crack the code to find out the secret message.

Pollution is what happens when the environment (land, sea, and air) is contaminated by our waste such as rubbish, toxic chemicals and fumes. A lot of the pollution found in the world, especially in the ocean, is caused by humans. Pollution is also causing damage to our beautiful reefs, which have taken hundreds or thousands of years to grow.

ones need to be thrown away and then write

them down under the right bin.

DID YOU KNOW? Litter can end up in the ocean. When rubbish ends up in the ocean,

sea animals can accidentally eat it and

become sick!

WORD MATCHLearn more about our reef friends by matching the collective nouns with their sea animals.

REEF LIFEA reef is home to thousands (sometimes

millions) of different sea animals. It is made from jagged rocks or coral. Sea animals

will attach themselves to the rock or coral and begin living there. Some sea animals

that live in a reef are turtles, starfish, small tropical fish, crabs, lobsters, plankton, seahorses, sea sponges,

and so much more!

FUN FACT 1Coral reefs are made

from hard and tiny sea animals called polyps who come together to

form a reef.

How to make it:

1. Turn the square piece of paper until it looks like a diamond to you.

2. Fold it in half to form a sideways triangle. Press well so a line forms and then unfold it.

4. Fold down the top point to meet the top edge of the folds you just made. Only the top tip of the paper must touch the folded edges you just made.

5. Fold the whole paper in half (lengthwise) and place it on its side.

6. The smaller end will the be the tail. Fold it up.
