ACTIVITIES-SHILLONG COLLEGE: NCC (BOYS)

Shillong College NCC unit (Boys) is associated with 2 Megh Bn. NCC, Shillong. The NCC cadets of the

college have always been leaders in every field, have excelled in various fields and have set numerous

examples for the other young students. They have stayed true to their motto which is ‘Unity and Discipline.’

The NCC provides the young cadets with various opportunities to showcase their various talents in many

different fields such as sports, cultural, drill and personal development. The NCC works hand in hand with the

authorities to help create a better society filled with trained and empowered youths that become productive and

beneficial for the well being of the society.

Some of the various feats achieved by the cadets have brought not only laurel to them and their families but to

the college as well. At present Capt. B.P. Tripathi is the in-charge of NCC Shillong College (Boys) Unit.

DennysonKyrsian, East Zone Capsule 2017, 3rd place. East Zone Capsule 2018, 2nd place. National Shooting Championship

2018, Rank 24th.All India GV Malankar Championship 2018- Rank 15th.1stShillong Shooting Championship 2019- one

bronze medal. 5th Meghalaya State Championship 2019- 2 Gold Medals

which under his leadership the NER Directorate bagged the first position in both the drill competition and the PM Rally

Daniel Nehsial participated in the Republic Day Celebration 2019 in the state.

The NCC also observes other programmes such as the 30th National Road Safety Week 2019 which was held at the

college premises. The Principal, teachers, along with NCC cadets and students also attended the programme actively.

The cadets and students were given awareness details and training by the In-charge and his team from Laitumkhrah

Traffic Branch, Shillong on 10th Feb’2019..

Perry B. Lyngwa was the placard bearer for the NER Directorate at the 2019 PM Rally held at New Delhi days after the Republic Day celebration.

The NCC apart from its regular military training and programmes also organises and takes part in socio welfare programmes conducted in the college such as blood donating camps which was organised by the NSS Unit of the college on the 21st August 2018.

held in Shillong on the 17th December 2018.

The Cadets of the NER Directorate under the leadership of Richie Rich Khongsit accompanied by the A.N.O. of the

college Capt. B.P. Tripathi undertook the National Trek to the state of Uttrakhand which was held on November 2017.

Besides all these achievements, in the last seven years the cadets of this institution have participated in almost

all the camps as per the allotment given by the NCC Unit 2nd
