surroundings • To integrate the aims & concepts of modern contemporary
science• To promote and encourage the use of multiple working
hypotheses by adopting 21st century approaches• To infuse reading and research for fresh insights and relating
these to the curriculum

To conduct a Biology workshop to inculcate in them a broader perspective and experience of the wide array of biological applications that can serve them in their future careers
Instructional Strategies and Tasks
• Provide students with:» Clear tasks» Goals and » Requirement
• Inform them of progress made. • To explain and describe things clearly• Encourage pupils;
» To think, to make connections» To practice and reinforce» To learn from other learners and» To feel that if they make mistakes they will not be ridiculed
or treated negatively• Promote pupil participation through problem solving, questioning, discussion
and “buzz group” activities• Treat all pupil questions seriously and do not intimidate or ridicule

• Involve them in producing/researching the latest information for topics like;
• Medicinal Drugs• Drugs of Abuse• Genetic Engineering• Biotechnology• Gene Therapy
• For each topic Students would be divided into various groups with 4 members each and they would be asked to research on any of the Sub-topics. For instance when doing Drugs Use of Abuse students would select the sub-topic from the following depending on their areas of interest.
• Use of antibiotics• Use of analgesics and anaesthetics• Use of Morphine in Medicine• Use and Abuse of depressant drugs• Abusing Opiates• Chew tobacco and Smoking• Use and Abuse of Alcohol• Treating Drug Addicts
• Videos and Animations would be used for re-enforcing the concept behind;– Mechanism of Action of
– Enzymes– Development and progression of atherosclerosis
– Demonstration of– Food tests– Animal Dissected Models– YouTube - Atherosclerosis.avi– Mode of reproduction of microorganisms
– Binary Fission in bacteria– Budding in yeast– Sporulation in Fungi
– Transmission Of: – impulse along a Reflex Arc– Malarial plasmodium
– Functioning of;– Antagonistic Muscle pair: Biceps – triceps– Antagonistic hormones: Glucagon – Insulin– Antagonistic muscles of iris– Suspensory ligaments – Ciliary muscles of eye– Digestion of Egg Cell’s wall by Sperms– Modes of Dispersal of fruits & seeds– Wind Pollination and Insect pollination

– Various Photographs and photomicrographs would be shown to the students on multi-media, Such as:
– Difference in structure of Pollen grains of a Wind pollinated and an Insect pollinated flower
– Growth of Mircobial colonies on Agar – Action of Antibiotics on The Microbes– Blood films– Tissue of Respiratory Passageway– Various parts of the Human brain
– Hemodynamics and mode of blood flow– Circulation Tissue Fluid– Absorption Of Digested Food– Transpiration stream And Translocation of Food
• Curriculum-Based: – Blogs would be made on various topics– Closed groups would be made on facebook
– Where:
» the students would have a chance to interact with each other and the teacher, share information, collaborate ideas and gain Knowledge.
» the students would be asked to keep a follow up of the assignments posted and solve the queries therein.

A workshop to be conducted by myself to introduce MS Office to the students
Student may not find it easy to search relevant information from internet
Prior Guideline to be given to Students for searching various Key Words
The Head mistress may not approve this mode of teaching
Technological pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) covers the integration of the elements: technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge in teaching and aids in learning process
