ACOS NMS AM (Asset Management)

Asset inventories and management

The ACOS NMS AM module for asset inventories and management stores all asset information in a struc-tured and durable manner. Thus, the know-how of each individual is available to all employees, thereby providing quick and easy access to a large circle of persons in the event of faults.

An optimal typification concept, as well as the clear visualization and management of assets and the in-tegration and synchronization of GIS systems support effective and user-friendly work strategies.

Document managementWhether you are looking for manufacturer data, service and maintenance instructions or technical diagrams and plan sets: all the relevant documents of a specific type of asset are avai-lable in a centralized database. This makes it easier for users to search for comparable asset types.

Integration of GIS systems

Thanks to the integration and synchronisation of all commerci-ally available GIS systems, the redundant input and storage of data are a thing of the past.

Furthermore, ACOS NMS enables the visualisation of all assets via maps.

Optimum typification concept

The typification concept of ACOS NMS AM permits a catego-rization according to manufacturer types or other categories. This concept offers a considerable savings potential, e.g. in the medium-voltage range.

The uniform assessment enables the benchmarking of assets and facilitates the separation of unreliable types. This focus on the more reliable types of assets/equipment helps to reduce maintenance costs.

Administration via tree structures

ACOS NMS AM enables the administration of assets according to different aspects and hierarchy depths. Depending on the user role, virtual tree views are available to show the relevant information for each role.

ACOS NMS MM (Maintenance Management)

Cyclic and event-oriented maintenance management

Based on the asset management function, all asset data are centrally available in the ACOS NMS MM maintenance management module.

This module compiles the complete experience and know-how of your staff and creates standardized maintenance concepts and rule-based assessment strategies, thereby optimising the maintenance pro-cess and permanently reducing costs.

Different maintenance strategies are available, depending on object types: cyclic maintenance (with fixed terms) or status-oriented maintenance (depen-ding on status criteria). Both strategies can be easily combined with each other.

Asset AssessmentPredefined assessment rules provide well-founded decision aids to cover your investments for maintenance, replacements or new installations of systems. Both the condition and the relevance of the individual components can be weighted, linked to each other and visualized in prioritized lists in a clear and orderly manner. Component-specific life records document all measures that have been carried out for an object, as well as all costs arising from the installation, maintenance and the elimination of faults.

Efficient document managementLike all other modules from the ACOS product suite, the ACOS NMS MM module for maintenance management features an efficient document management function. Thus, it is possible to retrieve all documents belonging to a specific maintenance activity, e.g. measuring records.

Simple recording of faults

Call centre staff or the operative staff register incoming faults, events and complaints by means of predefined input forms. Depending on the type of fault, different checklists are available for the description and classification of faults, thereby enabling a quick and targeted response to incoming calls.

Analysis of failures and weak pointsThis analysis provides a basis of data to facilitate decisions as to further proceedings. In combination with the asset manage-ment function, faults can be specifically allocated to the

Trouble call management and documentation of outages

The ACOS NMS OM module for outage management provides all the necessary functions for the recording of faults and events in the grid in a standardised and sector-specific manner.

The acquired data serve is the basis for legally prescribed evaluations and for in-house reporting. Responses to faults are documented so as to be court-proof.

Automatic reporting

Central dispatching

The dispatcher who is in charge of work assignments has access to the complete pool of job orders of the previous processes (installation, grid control, maintenance, troubleshooting) and can assign pending job orders to the respective teams for execu-tion. In this, the Dispatcher is aided by a graph to facilitate the coordination of schedules.

Job-specific accounting

All costs and expenditures that have been recorded by means of ACOS NMS WFM can be automatically exported to an ERP system (e.g. SAP); there, they can be booked to cost objects according to predefined rules and in a job-specific manner.

ACOS NMS WFM (Workforce Management)

Order management, resource planning and mobile status assessment

The ACOS NMS WFM module for order management and workforce scheduling serves for the efficient distribution of orders from upstream processes to staff.

Execution times can be additionally reduced by equipping service teams with mobile terminals. ACOS NMSmobile supports mobile staff in the execution of their jobs and in the feedback on job orders, including time recording, thereby not only saving time and money, but also increasing customer satisfaction.

ACOS NMSmobile – the mobile solution

The system architecture of ACOS NMSmobile enables boththe online and offline connection of terminals.

The online solution directly accesses the central server from the mobile terminal via browser and UMTS/GPRS or GSM.

The offline solution is based on the Android operating system and includes an app for mobile status recording. Job order data are synchronized with the central server either manually or in automatic cycles. When filling in predefined checklists, mobile staff are further supported by an integrated navigation to the operation area via Google Maps and the possibility to add images.

Clear and transparent shift logging

The shift log automatically registers all important incidents that occur during a shift, in their chronological order. These entries can be supplemented with comments, thereby providing a clear and comprehensive body of information to the subsequent shift staff. Moreover, by means of a switching log module, ACOS NMS supports the complete workflow, from the switching request to switching operations and, finally, evaluation in the form of switching reports, in close interaction with the HIGH-LEIT SCADA system.

Renewable energy feed-in management

The ACOS EEM application automatically implements the feed-in control measures issued by the higher-level grid operator, in consideration of the applicable guidelines.

A strong team with the IDS HIGH-LEIT SCADA system

The combination of ACOS NMS with the IDS HIGH-LEIT SCADA system offers an additional benefit to users: ACOS NMS acquires its information on outages and status-oriented maintenance directly from the SCADA system.

SCADA-related functions of ACOS NMS, such as shift logs, switching operations logs or special feed-in management functions, provide additional support to grid operators.

Thus, the interaction between the SCADA system and ACOS NMS enables the optimization and expansion of control center operations.
