ACI is the “voice o the world’s

airports”. It interacts with other world

bodies, including the International Civil

Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the

International Air Transport Association

(IATA). ACI has observer status with

ICAO and consultative status with theUnited Nations’ Economic and Social

Council (UN/ECOSOC). ACI presents the

collective positions o its membership,

which are established through

committees, endorsed by the ACI

Governing Board and refect the common

interests o the airport community.



The report provides a commentarywith tables and graphs looking at the

regional and international trends in the

industry in 2008. The report then details

trac results rom each o the 200

airports that took part in the statistical

analysis.

This ACI World Airport Trac Report is a

companion piece to the ACI Economics

Survey and ACI Global Trac Forecast

– together providing a rich source o

inormation or those within the airport

industry and the organizations that work

Worldwide traffic shrank by 5.4% in the second quarter of 2009 compared to the corresponding period of

2008. Freight volumes decreased by -15.8% while movements went down by 7.4%. These figures represent

an improvement from Q1 quarterly results, however, year-to-date figures remain very depressed as shown in

Figure 1 below.
