Facing a changing world
Environmental technology and effi ciency of resources are among the central issues confronting the world economy. Environmentally-com-patible products and energy sources are essential, as are techniques for conservation of raw materials and reduction of emissions. No aspect of industry is unaffected by these issues and no part of the world economy can remain isolated in this respect.
In future, the ability to participate successfully in the global economy will depend increasingly on the effi cient employment of environmental technologies and techniques for resource conservation. Responsible stewardship of the environment and effi cient use of our resource pool will be the maxim that guides our actions now with a view to future generations.
In order to promote the local growth of environmental technology, the State of Baden-Württemberg has established Umwelttechnik BW, an agency devoted to environmental technology and effi ciency of resour-ces. Umwelttechnik BW is tasked with establishing a platform for en-hanced networking of industry, science and government, initiating forward-looking projects, supporting businesses and institutions enga-ged in environmental technology, and providing a clearinghouse for industry-relevant information.

Baden-Württemberg possesses all of the components necessary for fostering growth in environmental technologies. In addition to providing an excellent infrastructure for R&D and production, the state offers a skilled workforce, diverse and highly-specialized suppliers, and an integrated network of world-class universities and educational institutions. Baden-Württemberg commercial and industrial enterpri-ses are themselves strong consumers of environmental technology – thus providing outstanding conditions to achieve a leading position in the development and proliferation of environmental technologies in the 21st century.
Adopting new approaches, or – achieving more with less
Given that 40 percent of typical production costs are associated with materials and quite less with energy and labor, the greatest potential for savings lies in effi cient use of materials. Increasingly scarce resources can drive costs and cause bottlenecks in production; therefore, it is imperative that industry makes the best use of the resource pool through recycling and intelligent stream management or through substitutions where appropriate. Where production processes result in damage to the environment we are challenged to offset, minimize, or even eliminate this damage. These are the challenges we face.
A recent study found that only one-third of entrepreneurs are aware of the challenges associated with resource scarcity facing their busi-nesses. Frequently, a lack of an overall understanding of the material fl ow in a given industrial process is responsible for retarding the implementation of potential effi ciencies. These are the challenges we are addressing.

Für die Einmischung fl üssiger und gasförmiger Additive bietet die econovation GmbH eine innovative 3-in-1 Lösung. Der ecowirl erzeugt ein multidimensionales Wirbelfeld und ermöglicht durch seine enorme Kontaktrate die effi ziente Vereini-gung von Löse-, Misch- und Dosiervorgang in einem Aggregat. For the mixing of liquid and gaseous additives econovation provides an innovative 3-in-1-solution. The high effi cient combination of dissolving, mixing and dosing in one aggregate is created by the patented ecowirl system. It generates a multidi-mensional whirl fi eld and therefore ensures a very high contact rate between a water suspension and an additive. For the mixing of liquid and gaseous additives econovation provides an innovative 3-in-1-solution. The high effi cient combination of dissolving, mixing and dosing in one aggregate is created by the patented ecowirl system. It generates a multidi-mensional whirl fi eld and therefore ensures a very high contact rate between a water suspension and an additive. Especially the so-called direct dosing for poly-mers is a very attractive alternative to the traditional polymer preparation plant. The possibility for hydraulic cavitation to intensify the mixing process is also given. With more than 130 units the ecowirl system is well established in the pulp and paper industry. The fi rst systems are implemented in the fi eld of wastewater and fresh water treatment as well. Further applications in those areas are planned for the direct dosing of polymers, precipitating agents and air.

For the mixing of liquid and gaseous additives econovation provides an innovative 3-in-1-solution. The high effi cient combination of dissolving, mixing and dosing in one aggregate is created by the patented ecowirl system. It generates a multidi-mensional whirl fi eld and therefore ensures a very high contact rate between a water suspension and an additive. Especially the so-called direct dosing for poly-mers is a very attractive alternative to the traditional polymer preparation plant. Erste Anwendungen für die direkte Dosierung an Kläranlagen und zur Frischwasseraufbereitung mit Polymeren, Fällmitteln und Luft sind in Betrieb gegangen.
For the mixing of liquid and gaseous additives econovation provides an innovative 3-in-1-solution. The high effi cient combination of dissolving, mixing and dosing in one aggregate is created by the patented ecowirl system. It generates a multidi-mensional whirl fi eld and therefore ensures a very high contact rate between a water suspension and an additive. Especially the so-called direct dosing for poly-mers is a very attractive alternative to the traditional polymer preparation plant. The possibility for hydraulic cavitation to intensify the mixing process is also given. With more than 130 units the ecowirl system is well established in the pulp and paper industry. The fi rst systems are implemented in the fi eld of wastewater and fresh water treatment as well. Further applications in those areas are planned for the direct dosing of polymers, precipitating agents and air.

Adopting new approaches, or – achieving more with less
Given that 40 percent of typical production costs are associated with materials and quite less with energy and labor, the greatest potential for savings lies in effi cient use of materials. Increasingly scarce resources can drive costs and cause bottlenecks in production; therefore, it is imperative that industry makes the best use of the resource pool through recycling and intelligent stream management or through substitutions where appropriate. Where production processes result in damage to the environment we are challenged to offset, minimize, or even eliminate this damage. These are the challenges we face.
A recent study found that only one-third of entrepreneurs are aware of the challenges associated with resource scarcity facing their busi-nesses. Frequently, a lack of an overall understanding of the material fl ow in a given industrial process is responsible for retarding the implementation of potential effi ciencies. These are the challenges we are addressing.

Erste Anwendungen für die direkte Dosierung an Kläranlagen und zur Frischwasseraufbereitung mit Polymeren, Fällmitteln und Luft sind in Betrieb gegangen.
For the mixing of liquid and gaseous additives econovation provides an innovative 3-in-1-solution. The high effi cient combination of dissolving, mixing and dosing in one aggregate is created by the patented ecowirl system. It generates a multidi-mensional whirl fi eld and therefore ensures a very high contact rate between a water suspension and an additive. Especially the so-called direct dosing for poly-mers is a very attractive alternative to the traditional polymer preparation plant. The possibility for hydraulic cavitation to intensify the mixing process is also given. With more than 130 units the ecowirl system is well established in the pulp and paper industry. The fi rst systems are implemented in the fi eld of wastewater and fresh water treatment as well. Further applications in those areas are planned for the direct dosing of polymers, precipitating agents and air.

Environmental technology and effi ciency of resources are among the central issues confronting the world economy. Environmentally-com-patible products and energy sources are essential, as are techniques for conservation of raw materials and reduction of emissions. No aspect of industry is unaffected by these issues and no part of the world economy can remain isolated in this respect.
In future, the ability to participate successfully in the global economy will depend increasingly on the effi cient employment of environmental technologies and techniques for resource conservation. Responsible stewardship of the environment and effi cient use of our resource pool will be the maxim that guides our actions now with a view to future generations.
In order to promote the local growth of environmental technology, the State of Baden-Württemberg has established Umwelttechnik BW, an agency devoted to environmental technology and effi ciency of resour-ces. Adopting new approaches, or – achieving more with less
Given that 40 percent of typical production costs are associated with materials and quite less with energy and labor, the greatest potential for savings lies in effi cient use of materials. Increasingly scarce resources can drive costs and cause bottlenecks in production; therefore, it is imperative that industry makes the best use of the resource pool through recycling and intelligent stream management or through substitutions where appropriate. Where production processes result in damage to the environment we are challenged to offset, minimize, or even eliminate this damage. These are the challenges we face.
A recent study found that only one-third of entrepreneurs are aware of the challenges associated with resource scarcity facing their busi-nesses. Frequently, a lack of an overall understanding of the material fl ow in a given industrial process is responsible for retarding the implementation of potential effi ciencies. These are the challenges we are addressing.

Environmental technology and effi ciency of resources are among the central issues confronting the world economy. Environmentally-com-patible products and energy sources are essential, as are techniques for conservation of raw materials and reduction of emissions. No aspect of industry is unaffected by these issues and no part of the world economy can remain isolated in this respect.
In future, the ability to participate successfully in the global economy will depend increasingly on the effi cient employment of environmental technologies and techniques for resource conservation. Responsible stewardship of the environment and effi cient use of our resource pool will be the maxim that guides our actions now with a view to future generations.
In order to promote the local growth of environmental technology, the State of Baden-Württemberg has established Umwelttechnik BW, an agency devoted to environmental technology and effi ciency of resour-ces. Umwelttechnik BW is tasked with establishing a platform for en-hanced networking of industry, science and government, initiating forward-looking projects, supporting businesses and institutions enga-ged in environmental technology, and providing a clearinghouse for industry-relevant information.

Given that 40 percent of typical production costs are associated with materials and quite less with energy and labor, the greatest potential for savings lies in effi cient use of materials. Increasingly scarce resources can drive costs and cause bottlenecks in production; therefore, it is imperative that industry makes the best use of the resource pool through recycling and intelligent stream management or through substitutions where appropriate. Where production processes result in damage to the environment we are challenged to offset, minimize, or even eliminate this damage. These are the challenges we face.
A recent study found that only one-third of entrepreneurs are aware of the challenges associated with resource scarcity facing their busi-nesses. Frequently, a lack of an overall understanding of the material fl ow in a given industrial process is responsible for retarding the implementation of potential effi ciencies. These are the challenges we are addressing.

Environmentally-com-patible products and energy sources are essential, as are techniques for conservation of raw materials and reduction of emissions. No aspect of industry is unaffected by these issues and no part of the world economy can remain isolated in this respect.
In future, the ability to participate successfully in the global economy will depend increasingly on the effi cient employment of environmental technologies and techniques for resource conservation. Responsible stewardship of the environment and effi cient use of our resource pool will be the maxim that guides our actions now with a view to future generations.
In order to promote the local growth of environmental technology, the State of Baden-Württemberg has established Umwelttechnik BW, an agency devoted to environmental technology and effi ciency of resour-ces. Adopting new approaches, or – achieving more with less
Given that 40 percent of typical production costs are associated with materials and quite less with energy and labor, the greatest potential for savings lies in effi cient use of materials. Increasingly scarce resources can drive costs and cause bottlenecks in production; therefore, it is imperative that industry makes the best use of the resource pool through recycling and intelligent stream management or through substitutions where appropriate. Where production processes result in damage to the environment we are challenged to offset, minimize, or even eliminate this damage. These are the challenges we face.
A recent study found that only one-third of entrepreneurs are aware of the challenges associated with resource scarcity facing their busi-nesses. Frequently, a lack of an overall understanding of the material fl ow in a given industrial process is responsible for retarding the implementation of potential effi ciencies. These are the challenges we are addressing.
