Accepta Ltd. recommend any pump be installed inside a sealedenclosure and any chemically dosing lines should be installed inside a second chemical resistant tube or pipe. An injection fitting shouldbe shielded so in the unfortunate event of a leakage of any chemical there is no risk whatsoever of persons coming into contact withany chemicals being dosed or mixed. This should also provide mechanical protection for the dosing equipment.

The wetted parts of the dosing pumps and hoses are clearly listed, please check with your chemical supplier the suitability of thematerials for handling the chemicals in use. Inline electrodes are for use where the electrode is to become part of the pipework usualyinstalled in a Tee the pipe should be fitted with isolating and drain valves for safe & easyremoval of the electrode for calibration. Low pressure hot water systems are used in many building and industrial premises forvarious heating applications. The hot water may pass through a variety of different pipework materials where corrosion can occur. To prevent the corrosion taking place it isusual to dose the pipe work with a corrosion inhibitor. The traditional method is to usea chemical dosing pot where the vessel is isolated and drained. The chemical dosing potis then manually filled with the chemical the fill valve closed and service valves opened.

This process can be made simpler and safer by automating the chemical addition byusing a dosing pump either with a shot dose time to add a set volume of reagent or bythe use of our conductivity controller. The controller measures a drop in the hot waterconductivity usually caused by a leak in the system and automatically adds reagent tobring the solution back up to the desired strength.
