Large scale modern art installations to debut in Gateway at Abu Dhabi Art 2016

Abu Dhabi, November 13, 2016: Gateway, a series of pioneering and innovative curated

exhibitions presented over three locations will debut at this year’s 8th edition of Abu Dhabi Art.

Curated by Alexandra Munroe, Gateway, which opens during the fair, is taking place at Manarat Al

Saadiyat from November 16 to 19 and will continue for two months until 21 January 2017.

Gateway presents a large scale installation from 2007 by Gu Dexin, an influential Chinese artist whose installations often use organic material, compelling viewers to encounter raw matter processes of life and decay. Courtesy GALLERIA CONTINUA

Lawrence Weiner’s artwork Built at the edge of the grass will be showcased, courtesy of Galleria Giorgio Persano.

Gazelli Art House, London / Baku present Time of the Empress, a seven-channel video installation on individual 55 inch bezel screens by Aziz + Cucher, widely recognised as pioneers in the field of digital imaging.

A highlight will be Kader Attia’s Untitled, courtesy of the artist and Galerie Krinzinger, Vienna
