Vision 2012: Expanding God’s Kingdom

John 4:34-38, 2 Corinthians 5:18, Hebrews 2:10

Living the Victorious Life Life will bring challenges no matter who you are. From Wall Street to your

local street corner, everyone will face things that are intended to shake our

faith or to throw us off balance. The blessing of knowing Christ is that being

His follower means that no challenge is ever exactly what it seems. As

believers, we can view what appears to be a certain defeat from the right

point-of-view; right behind your obstacle, a certain victory is waiting for you.

This didn’t just start, however.

David dealt with a similar situation in his day. Faced with a mammoth of a

man in Goliath who defied David’s people and his God, the king-to-be stood

firmly on his faith.

“Then David said to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword, with a

spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts,

the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”—1 Samuel 17:45

David believed God was who He said that He was—a Father, a protector and

a keeper. You may not be facing an actual giant, but whatever your situation,

the key to experiencing the David kind of victory is having the same kind of

faith that David had. And faith comes from hearing the Word of God. The

key to living the victorious life comes from Colossians 3:16 which says,

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and

admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing

with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

If David had any doubt in his heart about who God was or what He would do,

he probably would have never taken the challenge of facing Goliath. What

giant in your life are you hesitating to face? Maybe it’s a family relationship

or pursuing a dream that God placed in your heart years ago. Don’t fear.

Hear the Word of God, and know that He is with you and for you. When you

let the Word cut through your fears and doubts (Heb. 4:12), you won’t be

running from your giants. You’ll be running to them.

Hear the Word and walk in victory!

The Covenant Partners of EMBC traveled by car, charter bus and van to share in a momentous celebration. On July 1, all roads led to Longs, SC (near Myrtle Beach) as EMBC witnessed the installation of Pastor Rossi and First Lady Brenda Ramsey, Covenant Partners of EMBC, as the spiritual leaders of the Freemont Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Hayes delivered the installation message (Ezekiel 34:26-28) to commemorate the special occasion and encouraged the members of Freemont to receive this move of God with joy, humility and subjection. The trip was truly worth every moment as we witnessed one of our own promoted in ministry.

Congratulations, Pastor and First Lady Ramsey!

A sea of white filled the sanctuary of Enon from the pulpit to the choir stand and into the congregation during the annual Women’s Day Worship service where our Ministry Gift, Elect Lady Hayes, delivered the praiseworthy sermon:

“He Shall Know You By Your Problems or Your Praise.”

Psalm 34:1 Elect Lady Hayes expounded upon the many benefits of living a life of praise: God’s presence comes near us, praise releases God’s power to work in our circumstances, and it sets us free.

Other important points from our Elect Lady… Praise goes beyond words and should come

from the heart to connect with God. We must have a will to praise God. God seeks true worshippers to bless. Your praise is worth much!

To top off the occasion, Deaconess Cynthia Taylor was named Woman of the Year, being recognized as a woman of integrity, leadership, dedicated

service to the ministry and for spiritual growth. Congratulations, Deaconess Taylor, and thank you, Elect Lady for a mighty Word from God.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that

ye may prove what is that good, and

acceptable, and perfect, will of God”. Romans 12:2

Victory Camp 2012… Being Fruitful Servants in the Kingdom of God

Over 60 campers were provided with 6 weeks of academics, spiritual teaching, kingdom service, and all around fun during this year’s Victory Camp. “It was truly a blessing to serve and support these children and their families,” said Sis. Tina Shaw, Camp Director. “It is always our goal to provide a safe and loving learning environment where the children can grow academically and spiritually. Most importantly, we want our campers to have fun in a positive environment.” Victory Camp was topped off with a beautiful end-of-camp celebration where the campers, families, camp leaders and volunteers received a delicious meal along with spiritual teaching from our Youth Minister, Deacon Stanley E. Hayes, Jr. We expect God to do great and mighty things in Victory Camp 2013.

GET READY, GET READY, GET READY!
