About Us The Cochrane Back Review Group (CBRG) is one of 53 international Review Groups. The CBRG coordinates the publication of literature reviews of diagnosis, primary and secondary prevention and treatment of neck and back pain and other spinal disorders, excluding inflammatory diseases and fractures. The CBRG is hosted by the Institute for Work & Health (IWH) in Toronto, Canada. As shown in the figure to the right, the majority of our intervention reviews (81%) examine non-pharmacological treatments for back and/or neck pain. These reviews cover a range of interventions including, but not limited to, educational interventions (e.g., back schools, individual patient education), injections (e.g., prolotherapy), manual therapy (e.g., massage), exercise therapy, and complementary alternative medicine (e.g., acupuncture, herbal medicine). CBRG Preconference Day at Brazil Forum The Cochrane Back Review Group is holding a one-day preconference at the Low Back Forum in Brazil. This will take place on the 30th of September 2014. The preconference will include an Open Meeting from 1030am to 1230pm and three methods presentations in the afternoon by experts in the CBRG. During the Open Meeting we will give an update on CBRG activities, hold a “speed data-ing” session, engage in a priority-setting exercise, and present awards to CBRG contributors. The afternoon sessions will cover methodological developments in systematic reviews. The topics will include prognosis reviews, harms reviews, and diagnostic test accuracy reviews. Each session will include a presentation and ample time for discussion.
