    ABOUT LIFE COACHING

Mums Are You Looking to Return to Work?

Are you a Mum who is thinking ofreturning to work? Have you taken a briefMaternity leave or have you been a stay athome Mum for several years? For someMums the mere thought of re-entering thework place can be a daunting experience,no matter how short the period ofabsence. The thought of having to preparefor interviews can bring back dreadedmemories similar to that of sitting theLeaving Certificate - the stuff ofnightmares!

In order to prepare for the inevitable here aresome questions you might want to askyourself - in no particular order:Are you planning on returning to the sameemployer?Do you want to work in the same profession?Do you need to upgrade your skills? Are you worried about the gap in your CV?Have you been putting off deciding when toreturn to work for ages? Are you lacking in confidence or has your self-esteem hit rock bottom? Are you dreading the day you will have togo for an interview?Do you feel you need to prepare for this butyou dont know where to start?

Building your confidence is crucial beforeeven considering applying for a job. You wantto be able to put you best foot forward andlet your future employer see that you aremore than capable of juggling bringing up afamily with holding down a career regardlessof whether you are working full or part-time.Remember you only get one chance to makea first impression.

Preparation is the key. You know the oldadage If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Here are some tips on how to get started.Firstly take some time out to decide whatexactly it is you want to do. Once you havedecided that you can work on the rest. Setout a plan of action. Make a list of all thethings that will be necessary to put in place inorder for you to go back to work.

If you are finding this difficult and feel youwould like some assistance then perhapstaking part in one of our workshops mightjustr be the thing for you. If you would preferto work singularly then we can set up some1-2-1 appointments.

At Alive and Kicking Life and BusinessCoaching we run regular One Day Trainingson topics such as: "Personal Developement","How to Overcome Fear of Flying", and "Learnhow to Reduce Stress". Based in MainStreet, Dundrum, we limit the numbers to amaximum of twelve people. On Saturday5th September the Training is specificallygeared to preparing Mums for their Return to Work.
