2015-2016 at T rinity God’s Love in action! About NETkids NETkids is a fellowship group for elementary school children (K-5). It meets Wednesday afternoons September through May. The afternoon begins and ends on the playground. Parents carpool to transport children from school. Arrival time is between 3:15 and 3:45 and pickup is at 5:30. We have snack and recreation outside on the playground until 3:55, and then proceed to the Underground to embark on our adventure for the afternoon! Explore with Us NETkids provides many opportunities for children to explore and grow. Each week we have a variety of activities which expose them to God’s Word, give them chances to build relationships, and learn new skills. This year we will explore God’s Love in Action, through experiments, games and activities. We will also be working on the NETkids Railroad and woodworking projects in support of these themes, producing a Christmas celebration, a Spring Musical, and doing monthly service projects. Growing as Disciples is fun at NETkids! Musical Opportunities NETkids includes two choirs. Kindergarten, first and second grade comprise the Alpha Choir and third through fifth grade make up the Omega Choir. Both choirs will sing periodically in worship and will also share their music in the community. In the spring they will present a musical in worship in which both choirs participate. This year, grades 3, 4, and 5 will have a chance to play handbells. Orff instruments, boomwackers, and other instruments will also be used at various times during the year and the Omega Choir will also have drumming as a part of their regular choir experience. Yearly Special Events Some special events that will take place during the year include singing at a retirement facility followed by our annual Halloween Pizza Party. In December this year, NETkids will participate in a Church-Wide Christmas potluck and program on December 6. They will also go Christmas Caroling at a retirement facility. In March, we will have our annual Teacher Banquet. Then, in April, the Children’s Musical will be performed both at Trinity during worship, and later that week at a retirement facility. Finally, we will end the year with a celebration of all we’ve done, thanking our volunteers and saying good-bye to our fifth graders as they move on to UMYF.
