INTRODUCTION• Through this Web Quest, students will build upon their prior

knowledge of the Renaissance period in European history from approximately 1400-1600. They will develop an understanding of the impact which various ancient civilizations had on the inception of the Renaissance through extensive research, primary source analysis, and the building of their own city-state from the 15th century.

• This project will take approximately 2 weeks of research, product creation and presentation. Students will be provided 45 minutes at the end of each class to work in their groups, along with weekly group reports of progress.

connections between the ancient world and the one that existed in Europe during the Renaissance.

• Within your group, you will be able to identify how your civilization impacted the changes in Europe during its rebirth by conducting research.

• You will be analyzing primary and secondary source documents, and creating your own presentation describing how a European city-state from the 15th century incorporated visible elements from your ancient civilization.

• Daily reports from groups will be required to ensure timely progress.
