A TLC Seminar

Verbal Judo: The Gentle Art of Persuasion

Verbal Judo is a kind of conflict management which involves

using tone of voice and choice of words to calm an angry

individual. This verbal self-defense is also known as the

gentle art of persuasion; it uses techniques for deflecting

conversation and redirecting the conversation to a less

emotional, controlled level.

The primary goal of Verbal Judo is to manage behavior with

words to gain compliance over a non-compliant subject.

In this one-hour seminar, Dr. Jamie Wada, a certified Verbal

Judo instructor, will present an overview of Verbal Judo and

share the basics.
