PTO NEWS
Thank you Katherine Sullivan!!!
We would like to thank Katherine Sullivan, PTO president, for her incredible service to Southmoor Elementary. Katherine has served as the PTO president for the past year. We are so grateful for her contributions to the entire Southmoor school community. If you see Katherine around, please be sure to thank her for all her hard work and dedication to making Southmoor a great place! Becca Winslow is the new PTO president.
We have Multicultural cookbooks
available in the main office!
1 for $12.00 or 2 for $20.00
Cash or checks accepted!
The Southmoor Annual Auction is a little more than 2 months away!!! We can still use donations and sponsor-ships. Do you provide a service that could be an auction do-nation? Or, do you utilize a company that could provide a service that could be donated? House cleaners, carpet cleaners, tree and lawn services, car care or repair, plumb-ers and handyman services are all great examples of services that would make fantastic auction items.
Don't forget to ask the companies you use for a donation or sponsorship!

MUSIC NEWS!
Every year the DPS district selects a few of the best music students from each DPS school to participate in honor ensembles; orchestra, choir, and band.
In January, Amalia Viveiros-Silberer (5th grade) was selected to play in the City Wide Orchestra. She was such an advanced musician that she was placed in the Middle School Honor Orchestra instead of the Elementary Orchestra!
Amalia is also concert master in the DYAO and will attend DSA next year.
Two weeks ago several of our 5th grade students sang their hearts out in the Elementary City Wide Choir. They are: Gabriella Montgomery, Kayley Chism, Aris Larson, Barbara Khadyka, Demaur Hylton, Alize Martinez-Madrid, Lily
Thomsen, Shaden Moheildin, and Rinoa Lantz.
Last Saturday several of our 5th grade instrumental students attended the City Wide Honor Band Concert. They are
Rinoa Lantz, Gabriella Montgomery, Alister McClain, Kayley Chism, Lily Thompsen, Will Smith, Sam Wells, Alize' Mar-tinez - Madrid, Barbara Khadlya, and Aubrey Armstrong.
Give these students a pat on the back or a high five when you see them - they've worked very hard and have represented our school and community in the best way!
Thanks for supporting the arts!
Sincerely,
Leslie Draper-Roy
