S. S. Agrawal Institute of Engineering and Technology organized a one-day

Industrial visit to C-DAC Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (Head

Quarters) Pune University Campus Pune on 08th of September 2017 for final year

Computer Engineering students. Visit was organized with the prior permission and

guidance of Honorable Principal Dr. G. R. Kulkarni. It was supported by Respected

Head of Department Prof. Brijesh A. Bhandari, Prof. Roshni M. Bhandari, Prof.

Anali Shah and Prof. Vatsal Patel, teaching faculty of Computer Department

accompanied with this industrial visit.

Total 44 Computer Engineering students and 2 staff visited the centre.

The details of Journey are as follows: -

We started our journey from S. S. Agrawal Campus Navsari at 11:00 P.M.

On 07th September 2017.

We reached C-DAC (Head Quarters) Pune University Campus Pune at 11:30

A.M. on 08th September 2017.

Lunch Break 12.00 P.M. to 01.00 P.M.

After Lunch break, we visited PARAM Yuva II (Supercomputer) Setup in

Pune University Campus Pune.

The one-day visit was organized with prior permission of C-DAC Centre for

Development of Advanced Computing (Head Quarters) Pune University

Campus Pune and confirmed on 8th Sept 2017. The students got benefited in

terms of the technical details provided by the company on an important features

and structure of PARAM Supercomputer series.

They conducted for about 1 hour and 30 min seminar session which covered the

following details: -

C-DAC has come out with PARAM Yuva - II which is rated as India's fastest

ever supercomputer.

Product Lifecycle [Product concept, Design, Engineering/Development,

Maintains & support, Professional service and industrial Design &

Engineering]

Technology [High Performance, Grid & Cloud Computing (HGC) Health

Informatics, Cyber Security, Analytics, Big Data, cloud, collaborating,

Embedded, Mobility and Security]

Products and services [Health care systems, data warehousing, multimedia

and multilingual technologies, networking solutions to technical consultancy,

training and eGovernance solutions]

The working of the super computer is based on the hybrid computer

technology by making use of hardware accelerators and coprocessors.

The interconnection of this fastest computer is comprised of Infini band FDR

System Area Network and PARAMNet-III which is sure to offer a remarkable

efficiency.

The Storage capacity of the system about 200 TB which enable users to store

a lot of data. Even Parallel computing is made possible by the inclusion of

required software.
