Round 9 saw the majority of us

playing against the Ballarat

Swans and they certainly proved

to be strong competitors. We

had two wins from our football

sides; our under 14 reserves team

beat the Ballarat Swans by 27

points and our under 13 footy

girls had a 42 point win. Well

done to both sides.

Our netballers had a little more

success this round with our under

11 seniors, under 13 reserves and

both senior sides from Under 15

and under 17 going home with

strong wins. Well done to you all.

A reminder that the weekend of

the 7th & 8th July is a school holi-

day bye. There will be no junior

football or netball played that

weekend. Please check with

A reminder that round 10 this week-

end against Mt Clear will be played

at home on Sunday. Please could

we have as many helpers assist on

the day. There are always lots of

jobs to do around the club at home

games. If you can spare half an

hour or an hour, please put your

hand up for a job, we would appre-

ciate it.

It was a great opportunity to fund-

raise for the club and more impor-

tantly get to know our new families

and socialise in general. Thank you

TRIVIA NIGHT

What an amazing, fun night we all had at the DJFNC Op Shop Formal Trivia

Night. Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and came out to support

the club on Saturday night. We hope you all had a brilliant time.

These events are extremely important to our fundraising efforts that help keep

our fees down and to assist us to financially support our talented interleague rep-

resentatives, More importantly though, they widen our social circle and help us

get to know our junior families even better. It was wonderful to see our younger

age group families attend and of course our older families coming back for

more fun.

Thank you to our wonderful committee members who organised this successful

event, particularly Kristie, Briony, Rohan, Paul, Dave and our special mums, Elise,

Kelly, and Marleene who put in an amazing effort to give us all a night to re-

member. Thank you Vicki and Sue for running the busy bar and to all our spon-

sors for providing us with awesome prizes. A great night was had by all and your

op shop outfits were hilarious. We may have a cross dress theme next year, so it

will be interesting to see if our Vice President, Anthony Closter attends dressed as

a man. Lol. Enjoy the photos from the evening.

Darley vs Melton Centrals

Match Summary:

On a calm, mild night on 20th June, our under 9s took on Melton Centrals at Arnold’s

Creek.

Our game captain Dane Parker, led from the front with dashing run from the backline,

including some long goals.

Our defence was miserly all night. Our midfield ran hard, tackled well and took numer-

ous marks. They gave our forwards plenty of opportunities, and our forwards capital-

ised with many exciting goals through great team acts.

We would love a big crowd at Darley Park next Wednesday 27th when we play Ballan

(6-15pm start) at home. The bbq will be running again with plenty of giveaways on

hand again.

the ring to allow dry patches for you girls to play in.
