Over the last two years North ValleyFood Bank has seen a steady increasein the number of households we serve

through our pantry As you can seebelow the economic impacts ofCOVID-19 on families in our area havecaused a dramatic increase inhouseholds served We are fortunateto live in a community that supports usas we grow in unprecedented waysespecially at this unprecedented time Our number one goal is to ensure thatevery single person in our area hasaccess to the healthy foods they needto thrive We are actively working toreduce barriers to our services Wecontinue to evaluate our distributionhours transportation barriers individual food needs and safety measures Iam proud of our staff team our board our volunteers and our community formoving together towards the elimination of food insecurity in our communityThank you all for helping ensure our growth is possible

Evergreen Mobile Pantry

North Valley and Flathead Food Banks have joined forces to launch two newmobile pantry sites in the community of Evergreen The mobile pantry willtake place every Wednesday at the Sheriffrsquos Posse from 1145 - 1225 andEvergreen Junior High from 1235 - 115 We are excited to distributeFarmers to Families fresh food boxes that include a variety of producecheeses butter milk and meats We will also have some canned goodsavailable donated by community members through Super 1 Foodsrsquo food bankprogram

A big thank you to BeverlyRaudabaugh and Laura Sniderfor launching our summerreading program starting nextweek ReadingPOWERmaterials activities andsupplies will be available weeklyto customers with children ages4 - 8 If families are interested inadditional online materialsincluding read aloud video theycan visitwwwreadingpowerincorglearningresources

If you are interested incontributing to this program bydonating pencils crayonsnotebooks etc or volunteeringfor distribution please contactNVFB at 406-862-5863

Current COVID Protocols

1 Volunteers and staff are asked to stay home ifthey are sick have serious underlying healthconditions are 70 or older or have traveled outof state within two weeks prior to their shift 2 Volunteer and staff schedules will continue tobe structured in a way that limits the number ofindividuals in the building at one time to no morethan 10 people and 30 in a week 3 The Food Bank doors will continue to remain locked at all times Anyoneentering the building must immediately wash their hands with hot soapywater for 20 seconds wear a mask and complete a health assessmentincluding temperature check 4 Staff and volunteers are required to wash their hands every hour prior tohandling food and anytime they touch their face Those packing boxes andbags are required to wear gloves at all times Those loading vehicles mustsanitize their gloves between each car 5 All volunteers staff and customers are asked to please maintain a 6-8ftdistance between each other6 We will continue to have a professional janitorial service clean allfrequently touched surfaces and floors every Tuesday - Friday afternoon7 To prevent overcrowding distribution times will remain Wednesday andThursday 12-6 and take place outside We will continue senior-specific hoursThursday 10-128 We will also continue our mobile pantry routes to Trego Olney and Essexas well as our senior delivery program
