A Newsletter for Conservative Republicans
FLYING HIGH…AND DIGGING AND BORING TO KEEP BREVARD COUNTY RED AND GET CONSERVATIVES ELECTED
Editor and Publisher: Stuart Gorin Designer and Assistant Publisher: Frank Montelione
Number 97 December 2017
TRUMP RALLIES CROWD IN PENSACOLA, FOCUSING ON HIS AGENDA
Returning to Florida – the state he considers his second home
– President Donald Trump delivered a nationally-televised
speech before a massive, enthusiastic crowd in Pensacola on
December 8, focusing on his efforts to “Make America Great
Again.”
When some members
of the media declared
the size of his crowd
was not so large,
Trump later chastised
them for using a
photo that was taken
earlier, before the
president even
arrived at the event.
Following are
extensive excerpts of
Trump’s remarks:
“Decades of political
failure and corruption
will come swiftly to an end, and a New American Future will
begin. The citizens of this country will be in charge once
more. The special interests have had their day. That chapter in
our history is closing. The history book is closing on the failed
politicians of yesterday. A new chapter is beginning, and this
chapter will be authored by you, the American people….

FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK:
MY TWO CENTS
By Stuart Gorin
The newsletter is a bit shorter this
month because my wife, Barbara,
and I spent one-third of December
enjoying a cruise to the Southern
Caribbean, and then returned to
more than 1,700 unread emails to go
through.

It was a close Senate race in Alabama on December 12 when
Democrat Doug Jones slipped past Republican Roy Moore at
the end. The question is, how many of those close Democrat
votes were cast by the van full of illegal aliens who traveled
from town to town and polling station to polling station with
fake IDs before being arrested? And were there other vans as
well?
-0-
At Fordham University in New York, a female snowflake who
said she is the president of a student-run campus coffee shop,
kicked out a group of College Republicans for the outrageous
“fascist” and “Nazi” crime of wearing pro-Trump “Make
America Great Again” hats in violation of the shop’s safe space
policy. Who’s the Nazi here?

According to an unnamed source who claimed to be present at
the time – in 1963, when Donald Trump was only just thinking
about running for president – he went to a movie theater and
watched the James Bond film “From Russia With Love.”
Shades of McCarthyism, no?

The fact that so many encrusted old political insiders oppose
our campaign is the best proof you will ever need that we are
fighting for real change – not partisan change. We are fighting
for all Americans – Democrats, Republicans, Independents,
Conservatives, Liberals – who’ve been failed by this corrupt
system. We’re fighting for everyone who doesn’t have a
voice…. In this future, we are going to pursue new trade
policies that put American workers first – and that keep jobs
in our country. All the people who got NAFTA wrong, and
China wrong, and who are trying to give us the Trans-Pacific
Partnership – are the same failed voices pushing for Hillary
Clinton. Our trade deficit with the world is now nearly $800
billion. We’ve lost one-third of our manufacturing jobs since
Bill and Hillary Clinton gave us NAFTA. China is
manipulating its currency and taking our jobs. We are going
to stop companies from leaving our country and keep those
jobs right here in America. The era of economic surrender is
over. We will also have a very strong border that stops people
and drugs from illegally pouring into our country – and we’re
going to build a border wall, and Mexico will pay for it….
In this future, we are going to pursue new education policies.
At the center of my plan is school choice. I want every
disadvantaged child in America to be able to attend the public
or private school that is right for them and their family. In this
future, we are also going to keep our country out of the endless
wars that have defined Hillary Clinton’s career. To keep our
country out of war, we will remember those three very famous
words: Peace Through Strength. That means rebuilding our
badly depleted military….
Hillary Clinton has presided over the greatest series of foreign
policy failures and blunders anyone has ever seen. Her
policies have produced massive global disorder. She handed
Iraq over to ISIS, unleashing that terror group onto the world.
ISIS would not be threatening the West today if not for the
decisions Hillary Clinton made. She helped destabilize Egypt
by supporting the ouster of President Mubarak in exchange
for the Muslim Brotherhood. Fortunately, President El-Sisi is
now in charge, but terrorists have gained a foothold in that
country. She helped push Syria into a prolonged civil war by
pushing regime change in that country too – without any plan
for the day after. She failed with China, which has only grown
more aggressive. By the way, she also let China steal hundreds
of billions of dollars in our intellectual property. And of
course, Hillary Clinton failed with her Russian Reset. She
gave up missile defense in Poland and the Czech Republic in
exchange for nothing in return. Then, she gave up 20% of U.S.
uranium to Russia –while those who benefited from the deal
gave money to the Clintons….
If I cannot get a good deal for the United States, I will follow
the example of Ronald Reagan and walk away. That is
completely contrary to the way President Obama and Hillary
Clinton negotiate which gets nothing of value for the United
States, ever. They just keep losing. I will end this legacy of
failure and strongly defend the interests of the United States.
But I will also keep focused on the ultimate goal. We will not
seek endless conflict and hostility; we won’t get trapped in the
failed approaches of the past. A future where America can
find common ground with countries like Russia and China is
a better future for our children….
Let me also take this moment to express our deepest thanks
and gratitude to everyone who has worn the uniform, but most
especially to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for
this country. There is no greater expression of love than the
love shown by the men and women who have laid down their
lives for their country and its people. It is our duty to ensure
that their sacrifices are not in vain. That means we don’t issue
timetables for political reasons, but that we work with our
generals and our leaders to produce a real plan for victory. We
will pursue a new, steady foreign policy that seeks to advance
the national security interests of the United States – not a
reckless, interventionist globalism that has failed this country
so badly. And we will be clear in naming our enemy: Radical
Islamic Terrorism….
Change is needed at every single level of our society. When I
talk about making America Great Again, I’m talking about
creating a future that includes each and every American. I
want the most inclusive, generous and prosperous society we
have ever had. The possibilities for our future are unlimited….
Most importantly, 2017 will be about unity. Once again, we
will be One American Nation. We Will Be One American
People. Just imagine what we can accomplish together if we
set aside our differences, and focus on what we have in
common as Americans. We will be one people, living under
One God, saluting one beautiful American Flag. We Will
Make America Proud Again. We Will Make America
Prosperous Again. We Will Make America Safe Again.
Friends and fellow citizens, We Will Make America Great
Again!”
50 YEARS OF DEVELOPING
LEADERS FOR A FREE SOCIETY
The current issue of The Fund for American Studies’
“Teaching Freedom News” reports on the organization’s 50th
anniversary celebration in September, which included a Gala
attended by 800 alumni and supporters, and a luncheon.
[3]
This year, TFAS reached more than 1,750 college students
and young professionals throughout its various programs, and
they are joining a world-wide network of nearly 17,000
alumni who are making a difference in their communities and
throughout the world by upholding the values essential to the
preservation and success of a free society.
International programs include working with the Institute for
Leadership in the Americas (ILA), the Asia Institute for
Political Economy (AIPE), the American Institute on Political
and Economic Systems (AIPES), and the European
Journalism Institute (EJI).
At the TFAS Gala, its chairman for the evening, former
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, noted that when the
organization was founded, America was engaged in a struggle
against communism, and added, “Today, the battle of ideas
still divides our world, but we fight on. The future of our great
nation depends on our ability to prepare rising leaders to
defend and promote a free society.”
Democracy advocate and Russian former world chess
champion Garry Kasparov, who received the Walter Judd
Freedom Award at the Gala, said, “Young people, who are
born in America, who are born in freedom, often fail to value
these blessings, and your programs and events are so
important to ensuring that this isn’t the case.”
Stressing that destiny requires us to keep alive the American
experiment in liberty, TFAS President Roger Ream said,
“Freedom and free enterprise are threatened as never before
by an ever-growing government and a dangerous cultural
divide. We clash over the most basic values we once shared
– self-reliance, the rule of law, economic liberty and even
freedom of speech and of association. If we truly want our
Republic to survive, we must return to the principles that
animated the American founding and that can unite us as
Americans.”
At the earlier luncheon, U.S. Supreme Court Associate
Justice Neil Gorsuch said, “We may not notice it every day,
but what the Constitution calls our blessings of liberty are
everywhere about us. They are what allow over 300 million
Americans to go about their daily lives under the rule of law.”

AUDACITY AND INHUMANITY
Here are this month’s examples:
--The jury in the sanctuary city of San Francisco, who found
illegal alien Jose Garcia Zarate not guilty of murdering Kate
Steinle, who died in her father’s arms after being shot. Garcia
Zarate had been deported from the United States five times,
but kept returning to sanctuary areas where local and state
authorities left him alone.
--MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough, for
referring to Republican members of Congress as “jackasses”
who are “trying to undermine the rule of law.” The legislators
were calling for former FBI Director Robert Mueller’s special
counsel division to be officially investigated itself for serious
conflicts of interest in its investigation of President Trump’s
alleged ties to the Russians.
--Congress’ Office of Compliance, which over the past 20
years secretly paid out $17.2 million of taxpayer money to
settle 264 complaints of sexual harassment and other
workplace violations on Capitol Hill.
--The Garden City, Kansas Community College booster club,
for ousting a 32-year member –74-year-old basketball fan Jim
Howard – because he went on the court and confronted a
member of the team for shooting hoops during the playing of
the national anthem. Howard said, “I told him if you don’t
respect the flag, get out of this gym. Get off the floor and get
out of the gym and he proceeded to tell me he didn’t have to.”
Ironically, a fan who was defending the national anthem was
threatened with disorderly conduct charges, while the player
who disrupted the national anthem was not.
--Democrat school board chairman Ryan Sawyers in Prince
William County, Virginia, not only for telling students they
are free to not stand for the national anthem and Pledge of
Allegiance, but also for calling President Trump a “bona fide
idiot” for supporting the pledge and anthem.
--Alleged comedienne Chelsea Handler, for several
unforgivable attacks on President Trump, his family, his
administration, his White House staff, and most recently, her
accusation that the president is responsible for starting the
devastating wildfires in California.
--City officials in Eatonville Florida, for what the
Fight4Freedom website calls “a gross miscarriage of justice”
– one of the first police officers to respond to the 2016 terrorist
attack at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, will soon lose
his job. The officer, Corporal Omar Delgado, has suffered
post-traumatic stress disorder since the attack, and despite
moving from patrol duty to a desk job, a doctor has concluded
that his condition renders him unfit to remain on the force.
Adding insult to injury, the hero police officer is being fired
just months before he would qualify for full pension benefits,
and rather than receiving 64 percent of his salary and benefits
for life, he will have to wait ten years and then only be eligible
for 42 percent.
--The leadership at the University of Minnesota, which says it
is “committed to an inclusive community” at the school,
where more than 300 religious or spiritual belief systems
exist, for deeming as “not appropriate” for public gatherings
or displays on campus such items as Christmas trees, Santa
Claus, Nativity scenes, Angels, Menorahs or dreidels, and
wrapped gifts or holiday colors. QUESTION: More than 300
belief systems? Wonder if worshipping witches and warlocks
count as one or two of them!
THIS AND THAT
DEFENSE BUDGET. On December 12, President Trump
signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act, the
[4]
defense budget for 2018. The $700 billion budget includes a
pay raise for military personnel; increased Pentagon spending;
and the purchase of new military aircraft, ships, and vehicles,
including 90 Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets and 14 Navy
ships. Also included is $66 billion set aside for upgrades to
the nation’s missile defense system and overseas operations.
Trump said the legislation “represents a momentous step
toward rebuilding our military and securing the future for our
children.”
KIRSTJEN NIELSEN. The
Senate voted 62-37 on December
5 to confirm Kirstjen Nielsen as
the new Homeland Security
Secretary, replacing her former
boss, John Kelly, who now
serves as White House Chief of
Staff. Nielsen is a cybersecurity
expert who previously worked in
the George W. Bush
administration and at the Transportation Security
Administration. She subsequently served as Kelly’s chief of
staff at Homeland Security, and then as White House Deputy
Chief of Staff. Nielson now will be in charge of more than
240,000 employees at Homeland Security. Noting that a
border wall is more than just a physical barrier, she said, “It’s
really three components – it’s the physical barrier, it’s the
technology and then it’s the personnel.”
JEROME POWELL. President
Trump’s selection to be chairman
of the Federal Reserve, Jerome
Powell, said at his Senate
confirmation hearing on
November 28 that he would only
support raising interest rates at a
gradual pace. Powell, who was
appointed a governor of the Fed
by President Obama in 2012, and
who served as a Treasury
Department undersecretary during
the George W. Bush administration, expressed a desire for
“appropriate ways” to ease rules on banks. Trump said in
nominating him that he would be able to lead the Fed with
“sound monetary policy and prudent oversight,” and that he
had earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his
“hard work, expertise and sound judgment.” His nomination
was confirmed by the Senate 67-24.
BREC. At the combined meeting
and Christmas party of the Brevard
Republican Executive Committee
on December 13, BREC
Chairman Rick Lacey stressed to
the precinct committeemen and
committeewomen in attendance
that they must know their precincts
and work to deliver them in the
November 2018 midterm elections
in order to keep Brevard County red. While he said he was
ecstatic that Brevard County ranked Number 1 among
Florida’s 67 counties last month in the number of new
Republican voter registrations compared to the other party –
an overall gain of 340 registrations for the month – Lacey
noted that Democrats are strongly gearing up in the county, as
well as in the state and the country, to try to capture
Republican seats. District 53 State Representative Randy
Fine said that the way to win election and re-election is for
candidates to look out for the individual voter and not for
themselves. He said that cultural corrosion has set in at every
level of government, and “we have to watch out for ourselves
so we do not have it.” He challenged the BREC members to
be about making phone calls and knocking on doors. This is
the way the Democrats won key races in Virginia, Fine said,
“and our challenge is voter turnout for 2018” ….Maria
Hernandez and Brevard Public Defender Blaise Trettis
were named, respectively, as the BREC Committeewoman
and Committeeman of the Month….Nine new BREC
members were sworn-in….It was announced that the 2018
Lincoln-Reagan Dinner fundraiser will be held on February
24. Further details to come….A collection taken of the
membership to support homeless veterans in Brevard County
raised $660.
RONALD REAGAN CLUBS.
Gun expert and WWMB Radio
Shooting Straight host Royce
Bartlett, speaking at the Ronald
Reagan Clubs meeting in
Melbourne, Florida on November
27, stressed that the Second
Amendment is a right granted by
God, is not a privilege, and it is
not negotiable. “We do not
depend on the Bill of Rights, we
depend on the people,” he said,
adding that the people are the
militia that the Framers of the Constitution referred to.
“Everything is in the wording,” Bartlett said. He told the club
members that we have the responsibility to pass on a free state
to our children and grandchildren. The war for the Second
Amendment “will never end” because of progressives, he
said, but we will continue to fight because it is keeping us
vigilant “We cannot relax because every day some politicians
put forth an anti-Second Amendment bill,” Bartlett said. He
also expressed frustration that young people in school today
have no idea about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Discussing the non-profit lobbying organization Gun Owners
of America (GOA), Bartlett said it was formed in 1975 to
preserve and defend gun owner rights and has built a
nationwide network of attorneys to help fight court battles in
nearly every state of the nation. He urged club members to
consider joining GOA in its work with members of Congress,
state legislators and local citizens to protect gun ranges and
local gun clubs from closure by overzealous government anti-
gun bureaucrats. For additional information on Bartlett, visit
the website: www.wmmbam.iheart.com/featured/shooting-

NEW MILLENNIUM CONSERVATIVE CLUB. The
American Police Hall of Fame and Museum, says Tara Dixon
Engle, its director of strategic
development, provides college
scholarships to children of fallen
or disabled officers, and offers
grief counseling and medical aid.
Speaking to the New Millennium
Conservative Club on November
20, Engle said the organization,
which is based in Titusville,
Florida, also runs an indoor public
gun range that since 2003 has
hosted more than 160,000 shooting
enthusiasts. These people range from novices who have never
even held a gun to world renowned trainers, she said, urging
club members to stop in and see why experts say it’s one of
the best indoor ranges in the country. Engle added that the
American Federation of Police and Concerned Citizens,
which is one of the museum’s programs, has a program that
offers fallen officers’ children tuition to any summer camp of
their choice, and to date, hundreds of youngsters have taken
advantage of the program. With further support from major
donors, she said, AFP&CC hopes to increase the amount of
support available. Another AFP&CC program, she said, has
served over 50,000,000 Americans with tips on self-
protection, home security, vehicle safety, rape prevention and
more while continuing to assist family survivors. For more
information, visit the website: www.aphf.org.
BOB WHITE. Florida
gubernatorial candidate Bob
White, chairman of the
Republican Liberty Caucus in
the state, will hold a meet and
greet fundraiser at the American
Police Hall of Fame and
Museum shooting range in
Titusville from 4 to 6 pm on
January 20. Attendees who shoot
with White will have the
opportunity to enter a drawing to
win a Diamondback AR-10/.308 or a Ruger 10/22. The entry
fee includes 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, two targets, and
use of a pistol or a submachine gun. Following the shooting
event, there will be a no-charge reception from 6 pm to 7:30
pm, and White is encouraging RLC members who do not
shoot to at least attend the reception. To RSVP, visit the
website: www.bobforflorida.com/on-target/.
ELBERT GUILLORY. “Liberalism,” says former
Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory, “has nearly
destroyed Black America, and now it is time for Black
America to return the favor.” He made national headlines in
2013 when he abandoned the Democrat Party – which he
called “the government plantation and party of
disappointment” – and finished his term of office as a
Republican. Guillory has now written a small booklet titled
“Little Book of Liberal Lies,” in which he exposes three lies
the left uses to enslave black
Americans. The lies are: 1) All
Republicans are racist; 2)
Democrats are champions of civil
liberties; and 3) The Democrats’
agenda is best for Black
Americans. He used photos and
commentary to refute all three, and
concludes that 1) the real home of
racism is the Democrat Party; 2)
the Republican Party is the real
party of Civil Rights; and 3) the Republican Party is the party
of freedom. For additional information, visit his website:
www.elbertguillory.com.
NO COMMON CORE. Administrators at a Naples, Florida
charter school – Mason Classical Academy – were not happy
with the way the Obama-endorsed Common Core program
deliberately dumbs down children and creates unnecessary
and complicated methods for working out relatively simply
problems. So, they dumped the program in favor of traditional
teaching. So, what was the result? According to government
statistics, Mason Classical Academy has jumped to the
number one position in Florida’s top schools list.
PROGRESSIVE THINKING. The leftist media has written
about a report released by the progressive Institute for Policy
Studies, which complains about income inequality and the
400 richest Americans. Ironically, the institute and the media
specifically called out the top three billionaires, who have
more wealth combined than the poorest half of the U.S.
population: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Amazon founder
and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos and Berkshire
Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett. Ironic, because the institute
and the media didn’t seem to realize one glaring fact – these
three CEOs are huge lefties.
AND PROGRESSIVE FUTURE. Conservatives, take note:
Last month, liberals and leftists gathered in Carlsbad,
California, for a four-day conference titled “Beyond
#Resistance: Reclaiming our Progressive Future.” Sponsored
by the donor network Democracy Alliance, it was for elite
members of the anti-Trump movement, and attendees were
asked to refrain from contacting the media or posting to social
media about what was taking place. A report said the purpose
of the conference was to “engage in diverging perspectives
connected to shaping political and policy transformation in
America.” Our “favorite” progressives listed as the main
attractions were none other than billionaire George Soros and
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
OLD TIME MEDIA BIAS. After President Abraham
Lincoln delivered his iconic Gettysburg Address in 1863, the
Pennsylvania newspaper “The Patriot Newspaper” dismissed
the speech as “silly,” and wrote: “For the credit of the nation,
we are willing that the veil of oblivion shall be dropped over
them and that there shall be no more repeated or thought of."
Fast-forward 150 years, and the same newspaper, now known
as “The Patriot-News of Harrisburg,” finally issued the
following retraction: “Seven score and ten years ago, the
[6]
forefathers of this media institution brought forth to this
audience a judgment so flawed, so tainted by hubris, so
lacking in the perspective history would bring, that it cannot
remain unaddressed in our archives."
WHAT COLOR IS YOUR UNIFORM? To set the stage,
former Brevard County Clerk of Court Mitch Needleman was
found guilty by a Seminole County jury on all counts of
bribery, bid tampering and official misconduct, stemming
from a contract he made with the BlueWare document
scanning company. But due to comments made after the trial
by one juror, the judge is planning to interview all of them to
see if there was any malfeasance. Meanwhile, the current
Clerk of Court, Scott Ellis, brought down the house at a recent
Ronald Reagan Clubs meeting by expressing disappointment
that no one at the trial took a picture of Needelman that could
have been used in this newsletter. Ellis explained that while
in Brevard County, regular prisoners wear orange uniforms,
mental cases wear yellow, and violent offenders are in red, in
Seminole County, officials had Needelman in blue wear!
EXPERTS’ EXCERPTS
Political analyst Steve
Feinstein, writing on President
Trump’s “crimes,” on
www.politicalderby.com:
“President Trump is
indisputably ‘guilty’ of many
crimes against the societal and
political norms of this country.
These crimes are profound and
grievous, and they shake the
very foundations upon which
acceptable presidential behavior
has always been based. His actions and demeanor are so
abhorrent and antithetical to the fundamental Progressive
doctrine espoused by the Democrat Party and their supporting
liberal media that his very presence in the Oval Office is
regarded by them as not merely an interim occupational tenure
by the opposing party, but as proof of a moment of temporary
national insanity from which we may never
recover…Accusation: Denying a Female Access to the
Highest Office. Verdict: Guilty…. Candidate Trump ignored
the directive that in 2016, America will elect its first woman
president…. Accusation: Recognizing the Average
American’s Desire for Strong Borders and Strict Immigration
Policy. Verdict: Guilty. Trump tapped into a strong national
craving for a return to immigration fairness and verifiable
national sovereignty…. The Big, Beautiful Trump Wall --
whether one looks at it metaphorically or literally – was a
recognition on his part of the concerns of the average citizen
for their government to put the American citizens’ needs and
concerns above those who break our laws and violate our
sovereignty. Accusation: Using the Military to Further
America’s National Interests. Verdict: Guilty. Unlike the
weak-willed Obama administration that drew lines in the sand
which were then washed away by the shifting winds of liberal
political expediency, Trump strongly punished the Assad
regime in Syria with a blunt, untelegraphed cruise missile
attack in retaliation for Assad’s repeated crimes against his
own people, while simultaneously putting the world on notice
that under a Trump administration, America will act
forcefully and swiftly—without warning—to protect its vital
interests….Additional ‘Crimes.’ There are certainly other
strong examples of President Trump’s transgressions: Being
in favor of American fossil fuel development and reinstating
the Keystone Pipeline…. The elimination of many anti-
business nanny-state regulations that were intended by Obama
to buy the voting affections of various Green and ‘Social
Justice’ lobbying groups. And of course, Trump’s shamefully
disrespectful, ‘unpresidential’ treatment of the liberal
mainstream media…If the radical-left wing of the Democrat
Party – whose thoughts and policies unquestionably represent
the mainstream positions of their party these days, make no
mistake – think that the likes of Elizabeth Warren, Kamala
Harris, Corey Booker, Bernie Sanders or former First Lady
Michelle Obama are going to woo those decisive voters back
into the touchy-feely, anti-business, globalist clutches of the
Democrat Party in 2020, they may be in for a very rude
awakening indeed. Sometimes, ‘crime’ pays.”
EDITOR’S NOTE: Readers were expected to peruse the
above article with their tongues planted firmly against their
cheeks.
Conservative columnist Sylvia Thompson, writing on
millionaire athletes and victimhood
on www.truthorfiction.com:
“I have had it up to the gills with
black people who embrace
victimhood. I also highly resent my
being expected to do the same in
order to affirm my ‘blackness.’
Black victims these days, for the
most part, are the product of
decades of Black Americans being
used primarily by white progressive
leftists to advance an anti-American
agenda. The current brouhaha surrounding the despicable
behavior of NFL athletes toward the National Anthem and the
American flag is a prime example of what the Left has done
to my race. One must assume these players and their guilt-
conflicted white coaches and owners (and victimhood-
inflicted black coaches) are being manipulated by the Left,
because no intelligent, thinking people would deliberately cut
themselves off at the knees. Essentially, what these young
misguided mostly black men are doing is ensuring the demise
of their lucrative paychecks. Further, I would wager that if
these teams consisted of all white athletes, none of this idiocy
would be allowed. We are witnessing this travesty because the
vast majority of players are black and can whine ‘oppression’
if appropriate action is taken against them for their
unconscionable behavior…. Black males bear the brunt of
police encounters because black males commit
disproportionately more crimes. Police encounters with black
men are so often confrontational because so many of these
[7]
men, especially the young, don’t think ‘compliance ‘applies
to them. They foolishly assume they are above the law and
disrespect for police officers is an act of honor…. These
young blacks, sadly, took much of their direction from racists
Barack Obama and Eric Holder during Obama’s destructive,
eight-year regime and Holder’s corruption of the Justice
Department. These two men, abusing their federal powers,
gave young blacks the impression they need not heed the law,
because laws are somehow unjust when they are applied to
black Americans. The NFL lot, and any other athletes taking
a similar stance, are also influenced by Obama’s and Holder’s
disdain for law and law enforcement…. Although Obama and
Holder no longer wield power in this country, some of their
minions continue on the pernicious path of ‘paying back’
American whites for wrongs, real or imagined. But as the
saying goes, there is a new Sheriff in town and he is not guilt-
conflicted. He expects fair play under law and tolerating pay-
back is not part of his agenda. Black Americans, when they
break the law, can no longer claim victim status simply
because they are black. Those days are over.”
THOUGHTS TO PONDER
“Evil plotters who have no criminal record are going to be
able to buy guns, and they’re going to be able to pass
background checks, and their plots won’t be stopped by the
Brady Campaign or by liberal celebrity ‘consciousness
raising.’ Neither the liberal media nor Hollywood understand
this because they believe social utopia can be engineered by
government bureaucrats, whether it’s on gun policy or
controlling the entire planet’s weather (climate change).
Conservatives know better, as did the Founding Fathers.
Preserving their legacy and our rights is a constant struggle.”
--Media Research Center President Brent Bozell

“President Trump’s proposed tax plan hasn’t even been
approved by Congress yet, but the Democrats are already
trying to thwart the plan by portraying it as a boon for the right
that betrays Trump’s campaign promises to fight for working
Americans. That will probably appeal to a lot of people
politically, but it’s illogical…. The top 50 percent pay 97.3
percent of our federal personal income taxes. Is it any wonder
that a national tax plan would favor the wealthy? They pay the
lion share of our income taxes and should rightly get the lion
share of tax breaks from any reasonable tax plan. Isn’t it time
to breathe some sensible logic into public discussions of our
federal income taxes?”
--Political analyst and author Don Gilleland

“We have to look at the world as it is and not as we wish it to
be. We don’t allow political censorship, political correctness
to dilute our threat assessment. For eight years under Obama,
we weren’t allowed to talk about jihad. We weren’t allowed
to talk about the Islamic aspects of the ideology used by the
terrorists. That has changed the normal political filter of the

“Our country has become weak, and bankrupt. Our enemies
are making fun of us. We are being invaded by illegals. We
are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo
and Hassid is a special group with special rights to a point
where we don't even recognize the country we were born and
raised in, AND I JUST WANT IT FIXED."
--Texas entrepreneur and educator Donald R. “Dick” Ivey

“I have nothing but disdain for politicians who put personal
gain above the good of the country. It’s called ‘public service’
for a reason. Too many times elected officials fall into the trap
of lobbyists and major donors, developing a quid pro quo
situation of give and take, all at the expense of the taxpayer.
These people should be put in jail, but they seldom are.”
--Musician and columnist Charlie Daniels

ABOUT THE NEWSLETTER
Both through email and on Facebook, we are now reaching more than 1,800 people on our ever-increasing distribution list and over
400 followers on the Space-Coast Tusk FaceBook Page. The newsletter goes to readers not only all over the country, but also
across our borders and beyond. Editor Stuart Gorin and Designer Frank Montelione hope to see the numbers continue to grow
as we pass on information. We continue to cover activities of the Brevard Republican Executive Committee, Republican clubs in
the county, and conservative organizations, so both elected officials and the typical “man-in-the-street” are kept abreast of what is
happening at the local, state and national levels. Since Republicans as well as Conservatives will never agree 100 percent on all
issues – for example, differences between Conservative members and establishment Republicans – we will not necessarily support
any writer’s positions, but will present them so you, the reader, can make up your own mind – fair and balanced. There is a link to
this issue at www.thetusk.org, and several recent back issues are available in the archives on the same website. To sign up for your
free subscription (or to unsubscribe, if you are so inclined), or to send your comments, suggestions or information to share, email:
COMICAL CLOSER
Here’s a letter for the ages:
Dear Boss,
I have enjoyed working here these past several years. You have paid me very well, given me benefits beyond belief. I have 3-4
months off per year and a pension plan that will pay my salary till the day I die and a health plan that most people can only dream
about. Despite this I plan to take the next 12-18 months to find a new position.
During this time, I will show up for work when it is convenient. In addition, I fully expect to draw my full salary and all the other
perks associated with my current job. Oh yeah, if my search for this new job proves fruitless, I will be back with no loss in pay or
status.
Before you say anything, remember that you have no choice in the matter. I can and will do this.
Sincerely,
Every Senator or Member of Congress running for President
