A Man About Fashion - Special

By rights it is only fair to state that the majority of females - with the exception of a

few off course - love a man with a great sense of style, impeccable fashion charm and

{if a genie can grant us one last much deserved wish} looks stupendous in a pair of

Calvin Klein underwear. Unapologetically, the trademark images of David Beckham

exhilaratingly modelling his underwear collection for H&M or David Gandy

encapsulating the ‘muse’ role behind Dolce and Gabanna’s most famous male focused

ad campaign is as much a longingly, attractive and embraced association to men’s

wear as is a well tailored Giorgio Armani silhouette suit favourable

among sartorially minded gentlemen.

Predominantly the philosophy of fashion is incorporated with images of beautiful

women exhibiting – to die for- clothing pieces on the catwalk, in fashion campaigns

and in beauty ads. However the enthusiastic notion of a good looking man

‘beautifully’ put together in any imaginable context (catwalk or campaign ad) can

induce a near-obsessional desire to buy into whatever set of priorities (think

immaculately accommodated jackets/trousers, fragrance & most importantly

‘anything a man needs,’ all go in the pot) they so effectively, happen to

divulge. Naturally – this is a convention we all so love to indulge and partake in.

Why? Well who doesn’t want to look good? And when they are not focusing solely

on looking their best, who doesn’t want to look at that, which is curiously pleasing to

the human eye? Let’s take the Spring/Summer 2012 as a near-perfect example and

include a smattering list of influential male figures that have supplemented us with

terribly good looks in ad campaigns ranging, from Technicolor boxer-briefs – a direct

relation to Calvin Klein’s 2012 Spring/Summer campaign, to the preppy chic ads by

Tommy Hilfiger and Jonathan Saunders. Dig a little deeper and a discovery of just

how essential the male models are in bringing such burgeoning businesses to the

forefront of fashion, begins to relish. Read more @Tellusfashion.com for the top

male models taking the fashion world by storm this season! Enjoy. xoxo
