    ALL HEALTH CARE WORKERS MUST FOLLOW HOSPITAL POLICYABOUT CONTACT, AIRBORN, DROPLET OR STANDARD

    PRECAUTIONS DEPENDING ON PATIENT’S REQUIREMENT.

    Hand hygiene must follow between patientsWear gloves and disposable gown as part of contact precutionfor MDRO’s or blood body fluid precationWear N95 Mask only in emergecy intubation or whendealing with susptected airbone patientsRemove PPE before leaving the area

    HOW TO SAFELY REMOVE PERSONALPROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) EXAMPLE 1

    PERFORM HAND HYGIENE BETWEEN STEPS IF HANDS BECOME CONTAMINATED IMMEDIATELY AFTER REMOVING ALL PPE

    REMOVE PPE IN THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE

    Using a gloved hand, grasp the palm area of the other gloved hand andpeel off first gloveRemove goggles or face shield from the back by lifting head band or ear piecesUnfasten gown ties, taking care that sleeves don’t contact your body whenreaching for tiesPull gown away from neck and shoulders, touching inside of gown onlyTurn gown inside outFold or roll into a bundle and discard in a waste containerGrasp bottom ties or elastics of the mask/respirator, then the ones at thetop, and remove without touching the frontWash hands or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer immediately afterremoving all ppe

    Grasp the gown in the front and pull away from your body so thatthe ties break, touching outside of gown only with gloved handsWhile removing the gown, fold or roll the gown inside-out into a bundleAs you are removing the gown, peel off your gloves at the same time, onlytouching the inside of the gloves and gown with your bare hands.Place the gown and gloves into a waste containerRemove goggles or face shield from the back by lifting head band or ear piecesGrasp bottom ties or elastics of the mask/respirator, then the ones at thetop, and remove without touching the frontWash hands or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer immediately afterremoving all ppe
