Day 1 - Friday, December 4, 2020 Holiday Dinner and ‘A Night on the Town’ Arrive to Beaufort, South Carolina, your Southern home for the
Holidays over the next three fun-filled nights and adventurous days!
Enjoy an included Holiday dinner before “A Night on the Town”
block party event. A Night on the Town opens the Holiday season on
Bay Street downtown with a mix of the traditional and contemporary
in an evening of surprise and delight. Businesses are open late, 6-9pm
for Holiday shopping. There are no franchise shops permitted in
Beaufort so each store is unique! See the town light up for the
holidays, sample local cuisine at food booths and enjoy performances
by local dance groups, choirs, clubs, and more.
Day 2– Saturday, December 5, 2020 Savannah’s Historic Homes and ‘A Christmas Tradition’ Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then tour one of Savannah’s
Historic homes beautifully decorated for the Season! We’ll then enjoy
lunch on own and free time for Holiday shopping at City Market, a
four block open-air market since the 1700s with shopping, dining, and
artworks in restored warehouses. Enjoy a Christmas Tradition Show
at the Historic Savannah Theatre. The theatre first opened in 1818
and remains one of the nation’s oldest continually-operating theatres.
It has been used as both a live performance venue and movie theater.
“A Christmas Tradition” brings you holiday glitz and glitter with a 2-
hour performance. The theatre is transformed into a perfect holiday
picture, sharing memories of the Christmas standards that you know
and love. Sprinkle in a little comedy and audience participation for
the greatest event of the season. Enjoy Christmas on the River with
arts & crafts along the exciting vibrant Riverwalk. Enjoy dinner on
own at one of many offerings located here.
Day 3 - Sunday, December 6, 2020 Spirit of the Islands and Plantation Oyster Roast We’re off to CATCH THE SPIRIT OF The Islands onboard our
Convertible Sprinters with 360-degree unobstructed panoramic
views. Travel the beaches and backroads inaccessible on a full-sized
motorcoach while we discover what makes this area so unique. Enjoy
the beach as the beach should be enjoyed! Smell the earthy marsh
and salty tidal air, soak in the sunlight, and enjoy the fresh air
breezes. This morning we “Journey from Slavery to Freedom” and
visit the Praise House, Pat Conroy Grave, Slave Cemetery, and Penn
Center. See the Plantation House from the Avenue of Oaks. Next, we
are off to do a little beachcombing at an undisturbed and beautiful
Barrier Island. We’ll see the lighthouse, learn its history, and climb, if
you dare! Walk the beach while learning about the unique eco-systems
of this area, an Audubon and turtle preserve. Explore this
Island that was the location of the Viet Nam Beach Scene
where Forrest Gump carried Bubba to safety. Enjoy Southern
Traditional Holiday fare for lunch. Next, we will visit the Shrimp
Docks, where your oysters were harvested for our Oyster Roast this
evening! Owned by a local shrimper, see how they catch from the sea
with their nets, boats, and docks. Get a close-up experience of low
country life and the history of shrimping on the island. See the boats
and docks where Forrest Gump was depicted. Arrive at our Southern
Plantation for a Traditional Holiday Oyster Roast! Enjoy oysters, fish,
fried chicken, and coleslaw while surrounded with Antebellum and
Gospel entertainment. Stay warm in the Plantation Home around our
fire pit. Holiday Cheer will be served!
Day 4 - Monday, December 7, 2020 Museums, Horse Carriage Ride, and Beaufort Enjoy breakfast at the hotel prior to checking out. Then tour the
Kazoo Factory Museum, it contains historical kazoos from the
collections of Boaz Frankel, Barbara Stewart, and Rick Hubbard.
You'll learn all about how the kazoo was invented and how it has
come to be America's most beloved musical instrument. Kazoos make
perfect stocking stuffers! Take a Holiday Horse Drawn Carriage Ride
and learn about Beaufort’s history, see Hollywood movie sites, see
gorgeous gardens, ancient churches, and many beautiful
Antebellum homes decorated for the season. Enjoy lunch on own in
downtown Beaufort with free time to shop the unique and
independent boutiques, artisan shops, and restaurants located
here. Beaufort has a very comfortable and walkable downtown with no
chain retail shops or restaurants... a perfect place to grab last minute
unique one-of-a-kind gifts. Depart for home!
