Dear Customers and Friends,

We would like to thank all of you for making our first year at Itasca Green-house a great year. It has been an amazing experience, and very eye opening. In some ways the seedling industry is very similar to the fin-ish tree industry, but some things have been new to us. We have really enjoyed meeting and visiting with our new customers and learning what you want from our products. All of this input from you has led to new ideas and different ways of doing things for us.

As we transition more toward growing trees for Christmas tree farms, finish landscape farms and products for the retailers, and focus less on reforestation, we needed to make changes in how the trees are grown. Our primary mission for these first several years is to grow a high quality tree that is useful for many applications. This has led us to make changes in the growing containers. Most of our conifer production has transi-tioned to a wider and shallower plug which is further spaced in the tray. This has allowed for more lateral branching, and a better root system.

We have also started a new line of transplants this summer. In the past, Itasca Greenhouse has offered Anderson Band Pot transplants. We are moving to two sizes of larger transplants that are perfect for field plant-ing or shifting up to larger containers for the retail trade. The BT36 is 41.5 cu. in. and the MT46 is 72 cu. in. These transplants are in the system to be ready for the fall of 2018. We are taking pre-orders on these trees now. Most of our spruce varieties, White and Red Pine, and several fir varieties will be available in these transplant containers.

We have also added a new line of Pacific Northwest varieties this year. Noble, Grand and Nordmann Fir are all in production in limited quanti-ties this year. Our Giant Sequoia, West Coast Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar are taking off great. We have added several other species as well that are listed in the catalog. As we move forward with these varieties, we will have more options for those growers looking for something a little different than they have been doing in the past.

Trees will be grown in the size container that best suits the species. Many species are available in multiple sizes. If you want your trees grown in a specific size container, please contact us for contract growing. Trees are sold extracted from the container.

Contract and Custom Growing

Contract growing involves growing a specified number of trees in a specified container for you, from our seed. Minimum order for contract growing is 5,000 plants for 4s - Styro 10s; and 2,500 trees for transplants. Any variety we currently grow is eligible for contract growing.

Custom growing involves growing your seed in a specified container. As we have no control over the seed quality or germination, there is no guarantee on numbers of finished plants. Minimum seed lot for custom growing is 10,000 seedlings.

Promotional Seedlings

Itasca Greenhouse will continue to be involved in promotional seed-lings. Our subsidiary company, The GreenWorld Project will be handling all orders and shipping, as it is currently set up to do. The GreenWorld Project will continue to provide trees from Itasca Greenhouse and carry the same products and services that we have carried in the past, along with a wider variety of products that are suitable for many different applications. Container Sizes

General Information / Terms:

Price levels are based on the number of seedlings of each size and species ordered. Trees sold in bundle quantities. Heights of seedlings will depend on species, container size and age. Orders are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Minimum order of $250 (tree total only). Orders less than $500 must be paid in full at time of order. Orders over $500 require a 25% non-refundable deposit at the time of order. Product will not be reserved until payment is received. Final invoices will be sent 8 weeks before ship date. Payment must be received at least 30 days before ship date. If payment is not received, order may be delayed or cancelled and deposit will be forfeited. For customers who qualify for credit, terms are net 30 days from shipping. Past due accounts will be charged 1.5% interest per month. Orders are subject to crop conditions. Itasca Greenhouse is not responsible for crop losses due to fire, hail, frost, drought and inventory error, or any other conditions beyond our control. Unless specified, Itasca Greenhouse will make a container size substitution if needed. Please make any changes on your order at least 30 days prior to your ship date. Additional volume discounts are applied for orders over a specific dollar amount.

Shipping Information:

Orders are shipped on Mondays. We will make every attempt to ship your order to arrive during your requested shipping week. Estimated shipping and boxing will be stated on the order confirmation. Difference for actual shipping charges will be billed with order.

Pickup Information:

Pick-up times are Tuesday-Friday, 8 am - 4 pm. Please call to schedule your pick-up date at least 2 weeks in advance. We are unable to make changes to your order on pick-up date. Please ensure that you have the appropriate space and tarps / ropes to secure and protect your load.
