We use Udder Comfort on cows with hard quarters and our fresh
cows and heifers to reduce swelling. It removes the swelling faster
than anything else, making fresh animals more comfortable and
especially helping fi rst-calf heifers come into their milk better,
Alan Chittenden reports. He is a partner with his brothers and
parents in Dutch Hollow Farms, Schodack Landing, New York and
serves as herd manager.
They milk 685 Jerseys, producing high quality, low-SCC milk
marketed through Agri-Mark to several high profi le cheese-makers
as well as being part of the group of farms bottling Hudson Valley
Fresh.
Dutch Hollow was 2012 American Jersey Cattle Master Breeder and
a virtual tour at the 2013 World Dairy Expo. As herd manager, Alan
says he loves the challenge of breeding and working with good
cows.
I believe Udder Comfort really helps, which is why I dont
hesitate to use it, he says.
We spray it on our fresh animals at least once or twice a day
for the fi rst few days after calving. As our milkers see the
benefi ts for themselves, they more routinely reach for the Udder
Comfort spray on the cart in the parlor.
